Babel: I have to become greedy

Ryan Babel believes he has to learn to become more greedy in order to score more goals for Liverpool.

The Dutchman is keen on playing as a striker after moving to the left-wing following his move from Ajax.

Babel said: “Right now, there are too many times when I can go for goal myself that I pass the ball to another to try to give an assist.

“At the end, if I watch the game back I think, ‘hey, I could shoot or I could go for myself’.

“I still believe I can be a striker, but if you want to be a striker you have to think more about yourself and that’s why you are a striker.

“So I think that’s a part I have to learn more, to be more greedy. It’s a process and I’m confident that it will come.”

Rafa: I have to sign in two weeks

Rafa Benitez has revealed he has 2 weeks to decide whether or not to sign a new contract extension with the club.

Talks have broken down several times within the last year however, Benitez now says a decision has to be made before April.

Benitez said: “I have to decide within 2 weeks.

“I am happy here. There is a project. I have been here 5 years and starting from now everything will be a lot easier.

“Competing in the Premier League with Manchester United and Chelsea is very difficult.

“I am not a cry baby. They can spend £20million on 5 players and if 1 or 2 are mistakes they still have 3 other players. I can only sign 2 and if 1 goes wrong or I make a mistake with 1, then it is noticeable.”

Gerrard makes Reds tick - Zidane

Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane reckons Steven Gerrard's importance to Liverpool means he must be classed as one of the world's top players.

user posted image

Zidane saw his old club dismantled by Gerrard's Liverpool on Tuesday night, when the Reds ran out 4-0 winners at Anfield, 5-0 on aggregate.

England's midfield star scored two of the goals and ahead of Saturday's crucial trip to Old Trafford, Zidane reckons he is up there with Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo, the current holder of the Ballon d'Or, and Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

"Is he the best in the world? He might not get the attention of (Lionel) Messi and Ronaldo but yes, I think he just might be," said the former France captain.

"If you don't have a player like Steven Gerrard, who is the engine room, it can affect the whole team.

"When we were winning league titles and European Cups at Real, I always said Claude Makelele was our most important player.

"There is no way myself, (Luis) Figo or Raul would have been able to do what we did without Claude and the same goes for Liverpool and Gerrard."

Zidane added: "He has great passing ability, can tackle and scores goals, but most importantly he gives the players around him confidence and belief.

"You can't learn that - players like him are just born with that presence." thumbup.gif

from other website that mean reina told casillas that if RM want to beat liverpool at anfield is very difficult but it still have a possibility. reina said "However, if you want to win the game, it is necessary to learn a little English. Now I would like to give you a lesson"

then casillas answer "yes"
reina said 1st lesson in spanish then casillas answer with english said "lesson one"
then reina ask casillas "How to say 'We will win this game"(spanish) then casillas said it in english "we want to win"
then reina answer "Very good. Now you have to learn the correct pronunciation, follow me read this sentence. Pepe Reina is the best keeper in the world"

then casillas refuse to follow and said "pepe reina is worst keeper in the world"

then the following part i dunno coz the chinese website just provide translation untill tis part.
sorry for my poor english notworthy.gif

well, his temperament has always been a suspect, that's one aspect of his gameplay and i'd think it's hard for him to change.

but that yellow card for time-wasting was a bit unnecessary, despite masch booting the ball away. he was looking to clear the ball and the ref blew the whistle at the same time for alonso's foul, when you're in the momentum i don't think masch could've done anything else but to opt for the safety first.

just his luck that the ref saw it otherwise. i think masch has a valid point to make to the ref, but his expression is a bit too much. but the same goes to heinze as well no? those were questionable decisions by the ref and i can understand why the players were so incensed with the ref's stand.

there were several match when mascha reacted wildly to ref's decision, the one recognisable was in m*nu*d match but from what i see, he didnt do it blindly, like a crazy pig hounding refferees for no reason, everytime he did that he got a reason why...

and yes i agree he should cool down a bit...but this media/statements/forums/and opinions from rivals are making it a real obvious worst thing..cmon mascha did that and its not good, but its not that bad..he did it like...twice per year? wake up =.=

United censor Rooney's hatred for Liverpool

Wayne Rooney has fanned the flames ahead of Saturday's crunch Premier League showdown with Liverpool at Old Trafford by revealing he "hates" Liverpool.

The striker, who came through the youth ranks of city rivals Everton, made the comments to Manchester United's television station, MUTV, and they were then posted on the club's official website.

But United have now removed the comments from the site, fearing they could prove to be inflammatory ahead of a match which has one of the fiercest rivalries in the world game.

Rooney said: "We're in pole position in the title race and we know if we can beat Liverpool then that'll more or less end their chances of winning the league. I'm very excited about the game because I grew up as an Everton fan hating Liverpool - and that hasn't changed."

United removed the quotes after two hours before editing them and putting live again, to read: "I'm also very excited about the game because I grew up as an Everton fan."

Rooney went on to add: "Liverpool played really well against Madrid, they attacked with a lot of speed, were aggressive and put Real under a lot of pressure. They are always anxious games against Liverpool and I am sure it will be frantic with a lot of challenges.

"It's a massive fixture, especially with what's at stake. Liverpool have been brilliant all season and put up a good challenge, but it will be great if we can finish that challenge off.

"It will be a great achievement if we can win the league a third year on the run, especially after Abramovich came into Chelsea and they won it two seasons running.

"At that point it was hard to see anyone else winning it, but we have bounced back as a club and shown again that we are a quality team. Five trophies is still possible and it's a great feeling. We know it's going to be tough but that's why we have the squad we do and we'll need it."

Gonna watch him tomorrow. A red card is a must.

I dont think its a temperament issue like we see with Rooney or Ronaldo. I cant really fault him for over-reacting at times because thats his passion for football and his team. Same passion that sees him bombarding across the pitch making a tackle. Never seen him reacting towards a player. He just gets really off his tits whenever he sees injustice towards either him or his teammates. Like the incident at OT, he saw Torres was getting hacked down from the start and demanded the ref for some protection but got punished instead. He was really fired up in that match, all vocal and lively. Thats the kind of passion you need to win at OT but sadly neither Gerrard nor Carra had it in them when they entered the pitch.
