MATA have rather 'good' marketing strategy.
What the public did not know is that their ATO under AN85 have expired a long time ago, and they're not even near Part 147 ATO. What they're doing is following DCA's Part-66 syllabus, and hopefully the students will pass (with what recognition, i haven't a clue) and somehow get a job in the industry, attempt the DCA Module examinations and get the licence somehow. In what sequence, unknown. Vague isn't it? Many parents do not know about the licensing system and they never enquired. last I heard they don't even have a proper text books for their modules and the training manager has quit. Hi,
Most of these called softwares are fully customized to suit that particular company specific operations. MAS is using e-promise if I am not mistaken at a cos of 300 million.(may be incorrect but that was what its initial quote was) AIROD is using AMROS, 6 million with 3K per user id fees. AirAsia, AMCOS.. few millions too with heavy customizations.. Some aircraft manufacturers like Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Falcon to name but a few, have their own computerized maintenance programme where the operator/owner can subscribed and let them do the scheduling for you. I guess it's back to your management to evaluate and decide which one suits their operations... QUOTE(maryjane9996 @ Aug 6 2012, 12:00 PM) |

Just use any spreadsheet, update the flying hours and cycles and base on the balance hours and cycles, you can tell(forecast) whats and when it's due.
Many small airlines started this way. |

Definitely a different job for sure. I honestly do not know what a Bachelor in Aviation Maint. Technology can do. QUOTE(pathoboy @ Aug 6 2012, 08:08 PM) |

Thats right, its AMOS. Thank you for the correction!
QUOTE(hazwan_aviator @ Aug 8 2012, 08:02 AM) They do not own or operate any planes, why should they be doing it? QUOTE(Nightstalker1993 @ Aug 8 2012, 04:07 PM) I know for SAE they're using AMASIS I think. At least that's what they use in their warehouse to keep track of parts la. For keeping track of plane's flying hours etc I'm not too sure. Not that I can recall. A person here?QUOTE(maryjane9996 @ Aug 8 2012, 04:33 PM) |

I have Republic of Ireland's LWTR, CAA's LWTR and DCAM's LWTR(with one type rating endorsed). All under BCAR Section L.

I thought about removing the DCAM's Part 66 limitations but no urgent demand on my job now. Further more DCA is not prepared for it. No,there is no datelines specified. Refer AN1101 Rev.2

May be a little bit...
Even if the practical/ojt is included(few weeks worth of structured OJT) it is not equivalent to the 'working/hands on' experience required. You must remember, an approved person must assess and endorse your logbook entries prior to submission for your licence application. It will depend on him.
