QUOTE(mastering89 @ May 11 2009, 08:36 AM) hi all again... ive gt problem when installg app from cydia especially openssh and cydia's updates... the internet connection dc.. is tat common?? Yup, that happens quite a lot if your connection isn't really a good one. If you come accross frozen downloads, or errors like "POSIX" and all, don't worry, nothing is messed up.

chinti, booting into DFU mode isn't hard at all. Follow the instructions that are clearly stated in QuickFreedom, Untetherizer and a few other jailbreaking GUI's, and you wouldn't or shouldn't rather, face any problems booting your unit into DFU mode. Also, a little googling would do a lot of help. I googled a lot on booting into DFU mode before jailbreaking my unit. I was so sure on how to do it, but yet, i made one mistake haha Anyways, congratulations on jailbreaking your iPod Touch 2G, and also, welcome here

QUOTE(teckhooi @ May 21 2009, 06:12 PM) got few different method which one to choose? Added on May 21, 2009, 6:21 pmsaw many ppl mention redsnow any problem..if using vista platform? Any tool, whatever you like. I used QuickFreedom because i saw many video tutorials on it, and i was pretty familiar with it's GUI even before downloading the .exe file, so it all basically depends on your liking. Nope, read the first post by bryanyeo in this thread. There's a short guide for Vista users. Make sure you follow it or else you may encounter unwanted problems after running the tool

QUOTE(alexho5285 @ Jun 11 2009, 05:04 PM) after i jailbreak my ipod 1st gen wat to do ??? Read the first post mate. By reading it, you would be able to know what you would be able to do with a jailbroken unit. Also, you can look at the iPhone section for the "Winterboard [THEMES] thread" and the "Cydia Apps" thread. But of course, read the first page first

QUOTE(intothefantasy @ Jun 23 2009, 07:58 PM) hmm if jb to 3.0 os....how is the old apps with no 3.0 support yet? can they be use? and it seems like this time jb is different with 2.2.1 method...which are update 1st only jb them...means official then only to jbed? i cant seem to find OS 3.0 in apple store malaysia....how do i buy it now? Yes, you're right. Official then jailbreak. Just follow the guide, everything should be fine mate Added on June 24, 2009, 2:13 pmQUOTE(futra @ Jun 24 2009, 01:08 PM) perhaps the previous 2.2.1 firmware wasnt stable enough to handle bluetooth operations.. I don't think it has anything to do with the firmware stability, i feel it's just a business trick or technique rather. I mean, when someone goes around saying "Dude, OS3 has bluetooth!" I'm sure most of us will go frenzy, and we would immediately buy the OS which is pretty good for Apple. This may not be true at all, as it's just my humble opinion This post has been edited by Playboy21: Jun 24 2009, 02:13 PM

QUOTE(wadever @ Jun 24 2009, 08:11 PM) What do I do after I jailbreak? =x Well, you can perform some additional functions on your unit like using themes and so on. A simple search would have given you a good, detailed answer mate Added on June 24, 2009, 9:29 pmQUOTE(fizz6487 @ Jun 24 2009, 06:59 PM) i have clicked the link... but there only for download 0.7.2 If 0.72 doesn't work, then search for 0.71. Try 0.72 first, should work fine This post has been edited by Playboy21: Jun 24 2009, 09:29 PM

QUOTE(wadever @ Jun 25 2009, 04:57 PM) I did made a search and saw this thread http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49172but I don't get it lool xD --------------- What is Cydia? I thought it's free but I see Cydia Store too What don't you get? Try reading more carefully, it might help you someway. Cydia, mate, try searching for answers around the forums. If you don't get any, then use google of course. Answers can be given directly to you, definitely, but doing so would result you in being lazy to actually search for answers and methods to solve a simple problem. No offense mate Anyways, here's a good explanation : http://www.findmysoft.com/news/Cydia-App-S...ed-iPhone-Apps/Content in Cydia is free really, it's just that Saurik, the developer of Cydia figured that all the hardworking app devs deserve more than just a word of "thanks" so he updated it to allow developers to sell apps via it. Tons of free content in there though

QUOTE(ocz @ Jul 13 2009, 10:32 PM) I already downloaded redsnow 0.7.2 and can it be used to? Now,what i am doing is,i am upgrading from 2.2.1 to 3.0.Is it advisable? Or just stick with 2.2.1 and straight jailbreak it? That is up to you. If you wish to remain on 2.2.1, then just follow the guide on jailbreaking it (If you haven't done so yet). If you want 3.0 instead (Newer and has more functions), follow the guide on upgrading and jailbreaking it. Good luck

QUOTE(slickz @ Aug 4 2009, 09:41 AM) just noticed something. Sometimes, when we exit to home screen from an app, instead of the exit animation where the app zooms out smoothly the screen just changes back to the home screen. This usually happens after a memory consuming app is run. Is this normal ? Yup, it's normal. Nothing to worry about

QUOTE(botakai @ Aug 4 2009, 07:00 PM) noob question... ipod touch 2g do i need to update to 3.0 1st only can jail break? and i need to pay 10Usd for the update rite? and jailbreak can install paid apps? Yes to all. Jailbreaking just adds more functionalities to your unit, and doesn't remove anything important. You can enjoy content from the app store etc without any flaw.
