As I said, it depends on the parts.

If its just a dead lens, it would cost a standar RM350 to change it. This price of course can change anytime.

Anything else, you're dead out of luck.

Yes and no.

It makes it look better on a HDTV, because the PS3 will upscale PS1 and PS2 games to the resolution its on. So it won't look like a blob of blurry textures.

If you do it on a CRT, you won't see much of a difference except for smoothed out character models.

QUOTE(snipersnake @ Mar 3 2009, 09:52 AM)
one thing, when ever I play GTA4, the fans start to run faster, producing a loud sound. only GTA4. And its not even a dual layer BD game..unlike MGS4. Anybody experiencing the same thing?or maybe GTA4 is just sucky?
*
Normal dude.
Its doesn't matter if the Blu-Ray disc is single or dual layered.

It matters on the game itself. GTA4, IS one of the most taxing games on the PS3. The huge world enviroments, the amount of Euphoria physics going around, its immense. So the game really does take a toll on the PS3, the RSX and Cell runs hell alot hotter. Thus, the need for the fan to run faster to cool it down.

Keep your PS3 well ventilated, play in air-conditioned situations if possible.
I only had the fan spin up to unimanginable sounds when I play in a hot sunny afternoon in a room, with a ceiling fan turned on only.

Keep in mind, this just doesn't apply to GTA4.
I've seen it happened on other games as well, and yes that including MGS4 too.

Don't worry too much, keep gaming! icon_rolleyes.gif

BTW snipersnake, I see you on PSN play GTA4, wanna play sometime? brows.gif

You choose whatever package also there will be lag(depending on games, who you play with, and where you are playing).
Thats how bad streamyx is, but its the best you can get here.

Just get the 1mb package, unless you have money to splurge, 4mb line(eventhough it doesn't make much of a bloody difference)! brows.gif

Update your firmware to 2.7 first before installing a new HDD.

*
Quite a number of games doesn't have multiplayer region lock.
Its normal.

As for delays/lag, you're in malaysia. So I guess you know the answer to that.

It'll actually make your connection worst... if you have bad signals.

My PS3 once hanged when I was playing MGO. In a middle of the match I opened up the XMB and wanted to check my messages, it just hanged there then. But that was the only one time it did.

Anyways, it could just be your PS3 running its fans louder due to heat. AFAIK, the fans in the 80GBs(with PS2 emulation I assume) are using the same fans in the 60GB PS3s.

hi all.,... i have a problem with my ps3 here. i cannot see display on my lcd. but the sounds are ok, means that the console is working. i wander what's the problem is.

Your PS3 is in another input rather than in HDMI(I assume you are connected using HDMI).

Simply reset your PS3 to its default video settings by holding down the power button for 5 seconds.

If it is supported by the PS3, by all means yes.

hey guys...is there any other option besides a bluetooth headset to connect to the ps3? For gaming use of coz.
*
You can use a USB headset or even a USB webcam.
I'm currently using a Logitech USB webcam, decent voice quality although theres echo.

QUOTE(msn83235502 @ Mar 19 2009, 02:20 AM)
i think thats the only choice..
*
Not really, most if not all USB headsets work with the PS3.

hi guys, any1 here using ps3 eye to chat in game b4? do u think it is clear enough ? which 1 should i buy? the eye or bluetooth heaedset? sad.gif
*
You want absolute best quality, the official Bluetooth headset is the way to go.
The PS3 eye is okay, not too bad. Suffers from being the voice being too soft though.

erm,let say i got a headset la,n sum1 is talking la,his voice will comes out from the headset?or the speaker?

Headset of course.
Although if you use a stand Mic or a webcam, voices will come out through your speakers instead.

I don't know why, for some reason I can't turn off my PS3 using the power button (the one next to disc eject) anymore.

The only way for me to turn it off is by selecting "Turn Off System" in the PS button menu.  sad.gif
*
Damaged ribbon on the on/off power sensor probably.
Isn't too hard to fix really, go get it checked.

I am not able to display via HDMI to DVI on my samsung 17"... strange, but I get it to work on a viewsonic HD widescreen 22"... is there a different type of DVI input monitors that PS3 can support?
*
Your Samsung 17" most probably isn't HDCP compliant.

this problem just happened recently, i have been using it with my ps3 a month b4 it happened, and my hdmi cable aint gold plated, it was the normal cable, so u suggest that normal cable easily spoilt?
*
Gold plated or not doesn't make a difference. A silver plated and gold plated HDMI is basically just gimmicks, in actual sense a gold-plated HDMI cable that you buy for RM30 is basically just colored in gold. Only "high-end" HDMI cables like the ones from Monster are really gold plated which doesn't even make a bloody difference in picture quality anyways.

Perhaps you could try meddling with the settings on your monitor, I doubt getting another cable would solve your problem.

hi guys...i currentli play GTA4...i'm using Sharp Aquos 32' LCD tv..
my question is, why i cannot play GTA4 with 1080i?
After i set my ps3 display to 1080i, then i turn on the game, it change itself to 720p. Just bought my ps3 on monday.
*
GTA4 doesn't officially support 1080i. So you have to force it into that resolution, uncheck 720p and check 1080i.
