I doubt there is even any "international warranty" sets available for the Diamond.

The problem about buying those imported sets is that, they might be cheaper but in case there is any problem, you need to send it back to their original country for warranty. Else, if you send it locally, then you will need to pay for the fixes, which in the end, wont be worthy for the cheaper price. Except for the warranty, i think all of them are exactly the same.

Now we have to share a forum with those dumbphones? How literally disgusting! tongue.gif laugh.gif
Flashed to uDK Windows Mobile 6.5 build 21500.
SUUUUPER CUUUUN.

Everything on the homescreen is smooth now.

RAM usage with Titanium homescreen: only 50+%. Never exceeds 60%. Wow.

Honeycomb isn't THAT smooth yet, but it's way better. Appreciated.

I'm gonna test out custom themes next! There's one that looks fantastic.
*
Any screenshot etc and link to have a look at the 6.5? Would love to give it a try tongue.gif

Btw guys, how to disable program from launching itself from startup? THanks.

One question here, the WinMo 6.5 is it meant for TD in the first place? Would we be able to get it via HTC?

I second this. Version 2 was great. Version 3 will be even more awesome.

I would say forget about Manilla 2d and TouchFlo 3d. Mobile shell should be the de facto mobile desktop interface on every WinMo device period.

Added on April 19, 2009, 8:39 pm

Good question but I doubt there will be any official download for TD but I'm sure it will be the standard OS for TD2 instead. But this doesn't stop those chefs at XDA to port it over to TD. Heck, I even saw a port for HTC Touch Elf the other day (even with OMAP processor).
*
Yea, would really love that they put it available on the TD as well. The UI is just simply awesome. else, might be tempted to port over to TD2 tongue.gif

Guys, im planning to buy a new TD. but my problem is, i cant decide to get SiS or Singapore set. the seller told me that for SG Set he will help me claim warranty and i trust him. but i want to ask fellow users, is there any other difference with sg set compared to SiS set? like gps in malaysia cant be installed etc? or compatibility issue? pls help
*
Well, i believe they are basically the same except for the warranty. So, i dont think there is a need to be worried. But mind me asking, does the price differs alot? The thing is, u need to remember if sending over for warranty to Singapore is off now trouble to you, then there should be no problem in getting Imported Sets. Regarding the GPS, there wont be any problem. Heck, i can even install Singapore's map into the GPS just that it wont be able to locate me tongue.gif

QUOTE(Jcvendetta @ Apr 21 2009, 01:13 AM)
Guys help me out, i just got my first ever PDA ( a touch diamond). i totally have no clue on what to do with it. I did some reading and understand that people now using 2.03 rom and windows mobile 6.5. Guys, is there any website that can clearly explain on how to upgrade my pda to the mentioned firmware and also windows 6.5? by the way are you people really using firmware 2.03 now? is that the lastest and the best?
*
Well, the 2.03 rom is the latest firmware available directly from HTC. If you want to upgrade that, download it via HTC website. You will need to key in the Serial Number of the phone. Basically, just follow the instruction listed on the site. If it says that you are not allowed to download it, switch to another region. If your's is local SIS, its basically either Asia Pacific region or SEA region.

Do not worry about updating the firmware. The exe downloaded from the website is very easy to use. Just follow whatever instruction listed on the program as you progress and it will be done in about 10minutes. They are just basically plug the USB cable to the PC, active ActiveSync and launch the firmware program and everything will be done. Again, just follow the instruction.

Just enjoy the TD for sure smile.gif

Not sure anyone notice this but i had problems with the touchHD version keyboard though. I am using Full QWERTY and when in landscape mode in part of the keyboard is gone to the side of the screen. Keys such as the enter key etc cant be used. Anyone had the same problem?

And is there any other better version out there? I really love the arrow keys on the HD keyboard but its not usable in the landscape mode on my side though.

31 hours standby, I used the camera this morning, now still at 50++%

@roticanai
I believe flashing doesn't void your warranty, right? iPhone Jailbreak doesn't void the US warranty etc.
*
I dont think it void as well. I had mine HardSPL before as well (not sure whether this is same with flashing or not tongue.gif ) and still got mine warrantied as long as its returned to its normal SPL before warranty smile.gif

ok so besaically a hard spl can prevent this? i have already upgrade to firmware 2.03, so what version of hard spl should i use? there is one 1.40 and 1.93 from xda forum. but there is no 2.03 version.
*
I believe HardSPL is a different thing. Its like you need to perform HardSPL to your phone before you could use Cooked Roms instead of the Original Ones. So, hardSPL is like an intermediate process to port the way to use cooked rom. You definitely need to ask Baronic on all these stuffs tongue.gif

CONS: hardcore gaming suffers. Stupid retarded start menu screen. But just suffers a bit, not very major.

agree about the battery consumption though, much improved, been using for 3 weeks already. but i'm back to 6.1 (for gaming purposes heh heh heh)
*
Bro, you have been using the 6.5? Any links to have a look on the 6.5 and is it hard to flash it to that? Really wanted to use it if the battery life is that good.

Screenshots a few pages back.
Oh, and still at 10+%. WHY CANT THE BATTERY DRAIN AND LET ME CHARGE IT SO I DONT NEED TO WORRY ANYMORE cry.gif
*
LOL..Never thought of hearing that from a TD user tongue.gif

I am also seriously tempted but thinking that they might release the WinMo6.5 to the TD, i might as well wait for it to be released officially tongue.gif

And guys, is it worthy to port from TD to TD2? TD2 seems tempting though tongue.gif

just get my htc diamond.
but don know why the memory usage quite high.
make the phone so slow.
i din open anything and it show the memory usage 68%.
*
Welcome to the world of memory leak tongue.gif Anyway, try flashing it to the latest 2.03 firmware. The memory leak issue wasn't so bad for me, but at times, i am still getting about 60 - 70% memory usage even though nothing is running tongue.gif

Or else, try flashing it to Custom ROMs. Some people do say it helps more as well smile.gif Else, get CleanRam. Nice lil application to help clear some memory but still, best choice is to soft reset like 3 days once tongue.gif

2) why i cannot send message?

1. Well, as far as i can see, the TF3D can only display a MAX of 25 message but if you go directly to the inbox, there are more there smile.gif

QUOTE(nas @ Apr 28 2009, 09:33 PM)
try this program from htc addicts...the author claims that you won't need to reboot your device using this software...you can schedule to run it also...
[attachmentid=933042]

or like what akachester said, install custom roms...this you have to be extra careful and there's always a disclaimer saying flash at your own risk...
*
Well, its a good program to have but being honest, i rather reset my phone. There are times when my phone memory reaches 70% on idle and even a thorough scan can only get me to around 64% which is still far from idle. So, if you phone are just barely having memory leak, like <60%, then this program can help but if its excessive already, then its better to soft reset.

QUOTE(wen9x88 @ Apr 28 2009, 11:32 PM)
how to use it ?
thank you first.
*
Copy the cab file into the phone and install. Then, launch the program and it will automatically clean up the ram and free some memory.

If its hard-reset (restore factory settings), then yes, you need to reinstall. But if its soft reset, then no, the software will still be there. YOu dont need a CD. Its just a cab file which is a freeware that can be downloaded.

All you need is to connect your phone to the USB and transfer the file to a directory in your TD, then locate the file, launch and it will be installed automatically.

Soft reset is just restart your phone. That's all. Turn it off, wait a while, then turn it on again smile.gif

Just copy the CAB file to ANY folder in the phone. Remember the location, then using your phone, browse for the folder using the File Explorer in the Programs. Click on that file then install. Thats all you need to do.

Are you on 2.03 firmware? If you want to check what firmware you are at, restart your phone and during loading, you will see a red colored wordings at the bottom right corner.

On my 2.03 firmware, i am getting about 50 - 52% usage on every soft reset and will rise up to a max of 68 - 70% in about 5 days of usage. Thus, i soft reset every 3 days.

G 52.26.25.09H
D 1.35.00.00

i saw this only.
don know wat is the firmware.
i open the free ram.
i saw this message "there is no application associated with "htcAddicts_cleanRAM_v1.1.8",run the application first, then open this file from within the application."
wat application?
*
The D part is the firmware. Means you are having the 1.35 firmware which is like the first version out there. That is why you are facing real bad memory leak.

Go and flash the firmware. YOu can either send it back to SIS to flash it or just do it yourself. Go to HTC website, go to the support section and download the firmware from there. Just follow the steps listed there and you will be good.

Regarding the FreeRam, like what leoboom said, first extract the rar/zip file, then ONLY transfer the cab file (.cab extension file) into your phone. Then only launch the program from there.

But alot of patches available on their website. For some bugs i guess.
