Yes Malsingmaps are free, but in order to use it for free you have to contribute 2 Points Of Interest(POI) or 2 New Tracks that are previously not in Malsingmaps and send it to the Malsingmaps Admin's with your email address and they will send you a link to download the newest maps of your location(Peninsula Malaysia, Sabah or Sarawak) and together the ways to unlock it specifically for your Garmin Set.
*
Ouch, then thats bad. How exactly can i contribute all those? How about previous versions? I mean, those that are totally free and does not need contribution.

-Edited-

And i have just flashed my radio to the newer 1.11 version. Giving it a test and see whether it solved my problem or not smile.gif

An update on the 1.11 radio. So far so good. Signal had been good, no drop until today as compared to the previous 1.09 version.

Well, the thing i do not like about GoogleMaps is because they need you to be connected to the internet in order to be able to use them. By any chance to configure it not needing a connection and act like the usual GPS software like Garmin/Mapking?

I can't identify any sattelites on my google map though. Very hard. And one more quest, do you guys on the HSPDA on your diamond? It drains my credit like water without me realising it.

Btw, my memory usage on idle is around 65%. Why is it so high i wanna ask?
*
Well, i would normally switch it off if its not needed. It used to drain my credits like mad especially on 3G but i switch it off after that. I used a problem called Modaco NoData. Maybe you can try search and install it.

And yes, the memory usage is normal if you are on Original Firmware. They will start off at about 54% and will rise to roughly over 70% on the 3rd day without a soft reset. So, its recommended to actually soft reset once every couple of days. Its due to the memory leak issue, commonly known in the TD and probably other Windows Mobile devices.

QUOTE(crimsonhead @ Aug 17 2009, 01:07 AM)
wats the price for a new extended(the fat one) battery?
i need to charge my phone everyday and its very annoying.
1 day battery kong already. is this normal?
*
Well, last time i believe it was about RM200+. Not sure about it now. Battery life for the TD was known from the beginning to be weak. I am getting about a day of usage as well, sometimes about 2 days max before it needs a recharge. smile.gif Now, since i flashed it to WM6.5 BsB, the battery management is way better. I am on my third day now with still about 26% battery life and stable memory usage at 51%.

Thanks alot for clarifying akachester. smile.gif

How do we access the HLKM file? I cant seem to find it in my phone? And is Win6.5 much better than 6.1? What is the procedure of flashing your device? Kinda new with PDA phone here. lol.

Added on August 19, 2009, 2:08 amAnd guys, one more thing. How do we install the .NET compact framework on diamond?
*
Well, as pointed out by Aavatar, you can do it in alot of ways. Try reading alot of them and understand the risk to do it first before actually doing it. This is one thread that i would read the first few important post really carefully. It gives you alot of understanding on how to do it step by step. I started from there as well smile.gif

In regards to WM6.5, i wouldn't say its VERY MUCH better than the WM6.1. There is improvement, especially in terms of battery life + memory usage. The memory usage is surprisingly good when i am using the WM6.5. Up to over a week of usage, i have barely gone over 54% usage as compared to the WM6.1. I would recommend you to give it a try first but as said by Aavatar, the TF3D2 on WM6.5 is memory hungry. Something like EnergyROM WM6.5 can idle at over 70% memory usage. So, its up to you whether you can tolerate with them or not though.

In regards to the .NET compact framework, download it from the Microsoft Website. IIRC, it would be an EXE or MSI file that you can execute it directly from your PC. What you need to do is to connect your phone to the PC using USB via ActiveSYNC (in Windows XP) or the Windows Device Center (in Windows Vista), execute the EXE and it will be installed automatically to your phone. If its a CAB file, download it into your phone (transfer using USB) and execute directly from your phone. smile.gif

Sadly it eat up quite a lot of ram but still OK better than most of the rom out there but I will say BsB ROM still the best.
It will everage up the ram usage upto 75% to 78% depending on the size of your SMS, Music Collections, Photo album and so on. But I can't open multiple software in background, most of it I can open at once is 2 large sofware at once such as garmin. but this consider ok for me.

Added on August 24, 2009, 10:00 pmThe NFS Undercover also very nice car racing game with nice graphics that uses Gsensor also.
*
But how bad is the memory leak issue? I mean, i am on BsB and it helps out a lot in term of memory leak issue. If yours stabilizes at 75%, then it would be good (of course, pending how much it uses during a startup). Cause on WM6.1, memory leak seems uncontrollable. From 50% can jump up to 76% and beyond if no restart is done though.

One bug on the BsB. At the top border where the battery meter resides, there is no clock. However, when u press the drop down icon and close it again, the clock appears. LOL...

QUOTE(octagon @ Aug 25 2009, 01:34 AM)
anyone knows where to download all those games using G-sensor for touch diamond.

i just finished flashing my touch diamond with Deep Shining Rom. cool! some bugs, but overall is nice.
*
There is a thread here that contains freeware games : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/671784

But most of them out there need to be paid. And yes, no warez discussion smile.gif

guys.. what is the cons of HTC diamond ? because thinking to get one to play with it... and how the photo quality ? thanks ya..
*
Cons? Well, different people different perception. For me, weak battery life, memory leak issues, certain times lagging, sound quality kinda weak, picture quality weak as well, etc. But if you can cope with that, its fine smile.gif

QUOTE(Omnian @ Sep 8 2009, 06:55 PM)
No, I'm talking about the first Omnia, but it's still just my opinion.

Omnia II is just for comparison only. smile.gif

Anyway, we'll let fongzai92 to decide for himself.
@ fongzai92, choose wisely.

I was only giving you a suggestion, you don't have to buy Omnia.

Try out more devices before buying. Samsung Service Centers let you play with their display sets. Don't know about HTC.

Take your time and choose the one that you like better.
*
Well, i have the same thinking as frozenkid to be honest. Before i got myself the TD, i am torn between the newer touch screen devices. No preferences (from TD to Omnia, to Xperia to iPhone). At that moment, i limit myself to the Omnia and the TD (iPhone does not come with warranty and Xperia is too bulky) and after i play with both of them for a while at PDAexpert in Midvalley, i just felt that the Omnia is a tad more laggy compared to the TD. Probably its user preference but i dont think by any chance the Omnia 1 is on par with the Touch HD or the TD2. At least on screen responsiveness. Well, again, thats personal preference.

just got my diamond recently, but i use it without screen protector(cos ordering another high quality but still not arrive yet), i put it in empty pocket, but just now just about to making a call, i realized that are few scratches on the screen center. cry.gif
anyway to make the scratches go away or not so visible? notworthy.gif

others than that, its still a awesome device, 1st time using vga pda since my last pda o2 atom. biggrin.gif
*
Where did you get the screen protector? I had been looking high and low for the capdase screen protector (seems like dadarouch aint selling them anymore) and cant seem to find it smile.gif And yes, my screen is full of minor scratches now.

Just do some homework.. And see which one suit u the most...

I start using PDA when 17yrs.. After form5 working with PDA expert for 6 months that time still a small shop in low yat...

I change from Palm to Dopod 818 & now using HTC Diamond...
I used normal phone inbetween because need to save budget for PDA phone... Till now, i still perfer PDA phone...

Some people wont like to use PDA as phone... Just like Blackberry, i dun like but is famous in the market and many people using it...

Choose wisely...
*
Haha...To be honest, i hope to own a touch screen PDA phone when i am still using normal phone. And after purchasing the TD, i wish i had not used it again. I understand that it can do so much as a phone but again, how many features do i even use anyway tongue.gif All i really like is the WiFi feature, as well as ability to install programs into that which i deem is necessary. Heck, even normal phone could do this anyway tongue.gif Still, i love the TD, not for the features, but for the nice esthatic looks. smile.gif

Alright, thanks alot. I use to get the Capdase version from dadarouch, but had to remove it after my LCD went kaput after that. Since then, it had been running SP less and gotten a few scratches after that. Cant find anything with high quality after that. Most of them are normal SP which i find it, not too good smile.gif

I've been using Capdase MATT version 3rd months now and found it to be the best SP and I think I won't try any other SP cause tried few of them before Capdase MATT Version and one thing noticable was the quality(get scratches easily including using stylus writing) and the gloss version witch stick fingerprint all over the screen(I realy hate that).

So I would recomend Capdase MATT Version.
*
Wow, thanks for the recommendation. Where did you get that btw? I was using the Capdase Gloss version for sometime and find it really good. Thick and nice although as you said, is a fingerprint magnet. Thus, i do not want to try any other SP out there (those common cheap ones) as i still believe the capdase is better, at a slightly more expensive price. And those InvisibleShield are not really something that i wanted.

Well, so far, i did not bump across alot of shops offering Capdase. Even if they have, there aren't alot choices out there especially for HTC phones.

You mean there ain't 2 versions? I am pretty sure mine is Gloss version though. Definitely not MATT version.

Anyone knows how to setup HSDPA/3G broadband connection for the TD? I mean, i subscribed to the Maxis Prepaid BB but i got no idea how to setup the phone to actually loads from the broadband connection. Saw a few settings in the Maxis website but got no idea how to setup the "Number To Dial". And even after subscribing, i cant seem to access the internet via it. I mean, i tried loading webpages with Opera, and it said no connection detected. Heck, my FB program also says the same thing.

Any idea how to set it up properly? Or is there anything that i had disabled that caused this problem?
