Not out of beta. It does not exist as a ROM either. Quite some bugs but tolerable for casual development purpose.

Now this is something to look for. Knew they ported it to the HD and had been waiting for it for a while now. Probably gonna give it a try as well.

Thanks for the link.

Well, not a recommended way but this is what i have done. I did have the same problem as well when i was flashing my TD with the MTTY but it cant detect the image ROM at the end, and i cant flash it again. What you should do is, to connect the phone again to MTTY and repeat the steps u did when flashing it to the new ROM, but, stop at the area where it says formatting phone.

After format, restart the phone again and see whether it loads or not. It loads for me. Again, not a recommended way but thats what i did. Might not work for you smile.gif

Do have a look at those tutorials in XDA-developers, especially this thread here :

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211

Just follow what is said in the first few post step by step, then choose a ROM of your choice here :

http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=430

Follow whats in those specific ROM thread and you are good to go smile.gif

if u wanna u the MTTY software u need to connect it with usb connection n wait the usb connection appear in the diamond right

First thing, i doubt there will be a WinMo 6.5 official release for the TD. Thats because the TD is missing the "windows logo" button that the WinMo6.5 is suppose to have. Thus, only way around is to use the modded version. And what do you mean by it not being stable? I had the 6.5 for a while now and so far, it seems pretty good to me. At least, even better than the 6.1. Have yet to give the 6.5.1 good long test yet though.

As for the MTTY, yes, you will need the USB connection. However, you can restart it in the recovery mode, and if you have done the connection right during the first time (eg, disabling the USB connection thing in the Windows ActiveSync etc), and you have the USB connected to the TD, you can see a USB mode in the MTTY as well as the Recovery Mode showing USB (instead of Serial i believe).

Anyone here tried flashing the TD on Windows7 (32 & 64bit)? I wanted to flash my TD to 6.5.1 by the weekend but thinking about it, most (if not all) of my PC are running either Linux or Windows 7.

not so sure about that, u're using normal flashing way through active sync? or MTTY? mtty is ok i think coz mysticgenius did teach to install the driver in x64 OS right? hmm.gif
*
Well, i saw some post on MTTY for Windows Vista, but none yet for Windows 7. I know "most" of the programs for Vista will be compatible but was hoping to get a more concrete answer before actually doing it tongue.gif And i have both 32bit and 64bit, so it doesnt really matter. Just need one that is working for Windows 7.

hey there,im quite "new" using d diamond..not so new la,myb im just a noob with it i guess..
im wondering abt d battery.ive been using it quite awhile now,n i just cant get it to use for more than a day.i heard d battery life of TD is damn poor.
1. So is it wise to change d battery?what volt/watt/amp or whatever should i look for?
2. Is there anywhere/links dat u people know of,to download free games/apps?
3. What d heck is MTTY?
tqvm to all seniors n taikos for ur time smile.gif
*
1. There is an extended battery out there for the TD. Its slightly thicker than the original battery. Just go to any HTC shops and enquire about the Extended Battery. I believe its 1350mAH.

2. Free games/apps? I would normally keep a look out at XDA developers, or these links here in LYN :

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/671784
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/802704

3. MTTY is a program used to flash your TD. Before, people would transfer the file directly to the TD and perform flashing. However, i believe many people experienced problem flashing it that way, thus, the use of MTTY eliminates those problems.

If you want to know more about MTTY, look here :

How long? I am guessing, since August last year tongue.gif Now, the battery life cant even sustain over 1 day. Gotta keep it connected to my USB port to keep it charged. And i am not even a frequent user of the phone. Probably just a few minutes in call and snapping some pictures. How much is the battery that you got? Probably time to think of getting another battery.

Just as an information. Tried to flash my TD yesterday via Windows 7 64bit. For some reason, it just wont happen. When i connected the phone to USB, it is showing unknown device and the driver just wouldn't install. Guess i have to stick back to 32bit Vista for now.

And btw, anyone here tried the HTC Sense ROM? Looks real good from the SS.

You have to point windows driversearch to windows update so it will search the driver from the windows drivers update net, mine no prob flashing from windows 7 x64.

Wow, you could? I tried everything i could but to no avail. What i do was, download the Vista 64bit's Active Sync program, connect the phone, does exactly everything that is asked. All passed fine. Until the step where they asked u to install the driver for HTC USB SYNC. That completed fine as well but requested a restart (with the TD in Bootloader mode). Computer restarted, but showed "unknown hardware found". On that point onwards, i could not detect the TD anymore. Any idea how you gone through that part?

hi all
i'm getting a diamond soon

i know that there is now windows mobile 6.5
can it be installed in diamond?

what is ROM?
it's the user interface thing? or is the OS thing?

yea, what is the 2nd hanf price of a diamond now?
*
WM6.5 is Unofficailly available, as said by mengsuan at XDA-developers. Head over there and have a look at some of them that is available. Not exact perfect ROM but at least better than WM6.1 to me. For features, i recommend EnergyROM. For stability and better performance, BsB works fine for me thus far smile.gif

If I'm not mistaken USB Faulty, could be your TD sync cable or the your TD USB joint, Clean the contact of your cable, the TD USB Joint, Your PC USB Joint and delete the old TD Unknown USB driver and try again.

As what I can say only today I've flashed my TD 5 times with my Windows 7 Ultimate Edition x64. For my side here when I 1st plug in my TD to my PC windows 7 will look for driver for the generic USB Sync driver for my TD and right after that windows update available for update and the update was Windows Mobile Device Center and after updated the Windows Mobile Device Center, Windows will update another 3 more drivers for my TD, after when it was sync with my PC I flash it and my TD Off itself and switch to USB Flashing mode and my Windows will search for another USB Flash Driver for my TD and soon after that my TD screen will change to Flashing indicator and Windows stared to flash. smile.gif
*
Wow..Thats alot of stuff.

Maybe going to try it again this weekend and see whether it works or not. I am pretty sure there is no problem with the USB. I used the same cable (which came along with my TD for the charger) for many times, including with Vista and it works perfectly. Probably need to reupdate again and see whether it works or not. Thanks again.

First of all, which version of WM6.5 are you running?

By any chance anyone tried out the latest WM6.5 ROM from EnergyROM? How good is it and how memory hungry the latest version is? Gonna do reflashing by this weekend and pondering upon sticking with BsB or moving away to EnergyROM for a while. And do anyone knows how can we get back Video Call on the TD? Since i flash it, i cant find the option back again.

If performance is an issue, find one that is a clean ROM without any extra softwares installed. I only tested BsB ROM thus far. Very very good for me. Find out those available ones in XDA and test it out yourself smile.gif

Just fully ported back to EnergyROM WM6.5.3 from the usual BsB 6.5. For some reason, my Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit again said driver installation failed when i tried to update the AS64bit driver required. But i persisted and MTTY still works (Luckily!).

Now, hopefully it will be working fine. I installed the Titanium Version, hoping it will still offer me about the same performance as the BsB. If it works well, might port back to the TD2.1 version to test it out as well. Am hoping the Sense UI will be available soon tongue.gif

And am i the only one here feeling its extremely battery hungry? Started flashing at 40% battery. Finished, touch a couple of settings, slide around the menu (took about 10 - 15 minutes) and the damn battery drop to 15%. Wow..I certainly hope its not my battery dying.

And just wondering, anyone knows how can we change the items in the Titanium Menu? For some reason, EnergyROM is missing the "Peoples" menu for storing favorite contacts. Thats something that i need.

And anyone knows how to change the "Actions" menu on the EnergyROM as well?

QUOTE(F1meteor @ Dec 22 2009, 07:12 PM)
hey guys
i'm on ROM BSB 6.5

I don't know how to use laugh.gif XD

1. how do i set the screen to be locked after 10 seconds? i'm only able to find turn off the back light..

2. in the main menu, how do i set which menu i wan to appear? currently it has photos, music, phone, voicemail etc... i want to add calculator and note in to it and removing some of it.

3. How do i remove some of the programs that i don't need?

4. How do i transfer files into the phone? Just drag and drop?
*
1. I dont think there is auto lock feature available in the TD. You will need to install external program into it.

2. If you are talking about the Titanium Screen, then as what billy_overheat says, you cant do it cause its the default menu from WM. You will need some hacks to do it.

3. I am pretty sure there is a "Remove Program" function available in phone. Cant remember where it is in the BsB but try Start -> Setting -> System -> Remove Program.

4. There are two ways, via Active Sync or direct transfer. Its easier with direct transfer. Just plug in the USB, select Disk Drive, and it will appear like a USB drive in your OS.

QUOTE(billy_overheat @ Dec 22 2009, 09:47 PM)
aka,

u need to find a plugin in development n hacking over there and search for a plugin something like favpeople or what de. then just install it and config it in the chrome editor.

so how's the energy rom 6.5.3? smooth? fast? xD lazy to try it coz using 6.5.3G now. damn stable. but wish to try sense pulak.

battery? ya.. it's just damn damn damn hungry once u flashed it and do everything.. just need to recharge it everyday..>.<

regards,
billy.
*
Well, basically, one thing major seen here on the EnergyROM was its really freaking battery hungry. Trust me, its more than just 1 day battery life. At current usage, i am barely getting 3 quarter of a day. Not sure whether its my battery dying or its just that hungry. Cause previously on BsB, i could get about 1 1/2 day of battery usage.

In terms of stability, yes, it is good. I tried both Titanium WM6.5 and Titanium WM6.5.3. The WM6.5 was good as usual. Stable, and memory usage hovers at about 60 - 70%. Not much sign of lagginess. I would recommend that version if you want something that looks a tad more beautiful as well as stable. WM6.5.3 however, does have a couple of bugs, but not much problem.

Flashed to TF3D2.1 EnergyROM WM6.5.3 as well, but that was definitely unacceptable to me. The TF3D was very slow. Response are not quick enough to enjoy it.

Sense 2.5 wise, i heard people saying its freaking slow on the TD. I have not tried it as well. Waiting for EnergyROM to actually release it and give it a try.

I wonder, how do we flash the internal storage on WM6.5.3? I only found the option to hard reset the phone but not flashing the internal storage.

Well, hard reset will only flash the memory part. It will leave the internal storage alone. For some reason, the "wipe memory" program preinstalled into the EnergyROM only wipe the memory instead of the internal storage.

Still no idea where can i find the option to wipe the internal storage sad.gif

i've been gone through this thread quite some times.. i always wanted to flash custom roms to my TD but i scare i might brick my phone... any sifus out here can provide flashing service so i can learn something then i can do it alone next time?

To be honest, you dont actually need to smile.gif Guides from XDA are actually EXTREMELY easy to follow. But in case you really want someone to flash it, try PM baronic. I think he still offer such service. To be honest, all you need is just a lil bit of bravery and follow each and every step said in XDA properly. I had baronic teaching me the ways to do it a couple of times but in the end, i never did it myself because i was afraid of bricking it in the end tongue.gif

Until one day, i was pretty pissed with WM6.1, and flashed it to WM6.5 directly, all by following the guides provided in XDA. The only hard part is getting the right HardSPL. Other than that, others are pretty much easy. That being said, its not that hard doing HardSPL either. Most of the hard part are trial and error. Like picking up the best Radio, the best ROM, the best HardSPL etc. smile.gif
