We need tougher physical presence for this one. Brwn - Rio - Vid - JOS for defence. Ronnie and Park on wings. Central mid is gonna be crucial... better go with Carr - Fletcherinho. Hope we open up the scoring early, banking on more magic from the Carr - Berb understanding.

QUOTE RIO Ferdinand has revealed how Old Trafford's United Nations are driving Sir Alex Ferguson towards an unprecedented quintuple. United are chasing trophies on four fronts, having already secured the Club World Cup. And Ferdinand is convinced that it is Ferguson's ability to knit together a squad of so many different nationalities that is the key to their success. United have the chance to move five points clear of their closest challengers in the race for the title if they beat Everton on Saturday evening, with Liverpool and Chelsea facing each other on Sunday. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « At United we've got Patrice Evra, Carlos Tevez and Ji-Sung Park and you couldn't ask for three people to be closer. "They are like triplets. They do everything together. Even shower together! "I'm joking, but the rest of the players are always looking at them and wondering how they get on so well. "Carlos is Argentinean and doesn't speak English. Ji-Sung is South Korean and barely understands English. And Patrice is French and can only speak broken English. "But that is football and it can bring people together." » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « MANUCHO!! Something for sheep. He sure would be happy after reading this.. except for the last bit. QUOTE(Dancuffe@Redcafe) I went to the game on Wednesday at Upton Park and to be honest, Manucho played really well. He has a great first touch, looks dangerous in the air and tried to lay the ball off to Hull payers on a number of occasions without success, not because his ability or lack of quality in the pass, but mainly due to a lack of understanding with those around him. Just before being subbed he had a great chance with a diving header which only narrowly went wide of the post. Given that Hull were utterly diabolical on the night and that West ham looked very tidy and well organised, I thought he played really well before running out of steam in the 2nd half. A diamond in a cow pat springs to mind. He certainly looked at least of 'Diamonique' quality compared to those around him, Bullard being the exception when he came on. I've watched Hull many times over the years and of course that means games in the lower leagues, never have I seen them role over so easily. Manucho made good runs off the ball and always looked to make himself available, more so than the less than mobile Cousin. You don't always see the off the ball runs on the TV and I think if he can get some games under his belt and get a feel for the prem. Then he has something to offer untied that is very different to what we have now. He's certainly way behind Welbeck though who I think has the makings of something rather special. TOFFEES SET TO MISS KEY MEN
QUOTE Injury-stricken Everton could go into arguably their toughest match of the season against Manchester United on Saturday without the services of key midfielders Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/...l&TEAMHD=soccerThe Toffees' lack of available strikers has been well documented in recent weeks but the form of makeshift forward Cahill, who has scored four in his last eight starts, has maintained their momentum. However, the Australia international sustained a severely bruised foot in Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal and is a major doubt for the trip to Old Trafford. If that was not bad enough Fellaini, who returned against the Gunners after a two-match suspension, is also troubled by an injured shin. "Both players are struggling and I won't take any chances if I don't think they are not going to be fit," said Moyes, whose side are unbeaten in their last seven Barclays Premier League matches. In the last fortnight Everton have drawn against Liverpool twice (once in the FA Cup) and Arsenal but must now try to get something from United - who have just set a new record for 11 successive clean sheets. Moyes is delighted with the way they have coped without a recognised striker but knows that effort cannot drop at Old Trafford. "It has been a tough period but I have to give credit to the players for the way they have gone about it," said the Toffees boss. "We are working with a small number who have put themselves on the line and over the line most weeks so I have to say well done to them. "We have had to dig really deep to earn a point in some games, in some of them we could have taken a chance more than we did. "You just have to keep persevering. There's no secret to it - if there was I'd have done it. "This is the biggest test because you are playing the world champions, European champions and Premier League champions. "But we are playing like champions, in our own minds. When you think that way you can go to Old Trafford with confidence." Moyes added: "It is a big ask. Lots of teams have played them recently and not been able to score so we understand how difficult that is going to be. "But in the same breath we have been hard to score past as well. We will need go to Old Trafford and make sure they don't score easily because you don't tend to score many past them. "Hopefully if we get our moments we can try to take our chances." Everton are comfortably holding sixth place in the table and draws against Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in the last month have suggested they are closing the gap on the 'big four'. But Moyes knows they will have to maintain their current form - which is hugely dependent on the injury situation - to stand a chance of taking their progress one step further. When asked what was required to make that breakthrough Moyes joked: "Probably £200million. "We are playing against sides who have been in the Champions League and had extra money for a number of years. "We have not and we are desperately trying to get a bit of it. "When we play them people tend to think it is on a level playing field and it isn't so the players need a lot of credit for doing everything they can to get there." |

QUOTE Everton duo Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini are doubts for Saturday’s clash with Manchester United. Both players picked up injuries during the game with Arsenal on Wednesday night and will face late tests to asses their fitness. Cahill was substituted at Goodison during the midweek game but results of a scan on the Australian’s foot have come back clear – although it is badly bruised. Fellaini, on the other hand, completed the full 90 minutes against the Gunners, but he has not trained since after picking up a shin injury. Moyes explained that both players will be assessed as late as possible – although neither will be unduly risked. “He’s (Cahill) a doubt for tomorrow - I won’t take any risks with him,” Moyes told the media at his weekly press conference. “He’s been for an x-ray and his foot is badly bruised so we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see if he’s okay.” “But Fellaini is a doubt as well. He’s had a stud through his shin so we are going to have to assess him tomorrow.” Elsewhere in the squad there is no new injury news, with the likes of Yakubu (Achilles) and James Vaughan (knee) still a long way from returning. Everton: Howard, Nash, Hibbert, Neville, Lescott, Jagielka, Yobo, Baines, Castillo, Fellaini, Cahill, Arteta, Osman, Pienaar, Anichebe, vd Meyde, Rodwell, Gosling, Jutkiewicz |

Vidic banned for first leg with Inter
QUOTE Nemanja Vidic will miss the first leg of Manchester United's Champions League tie with Inter Milan after being suspended for one match. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...4874598,00.htmlVidic was given a red card in the Club World Cup final for swinging an elbow into the face of LDU Quito's Claudio Bieler in Yokohama on December 21. The Serbia star was facing the possibility of a three-game suspension but a FIFA disciplinary panel on Friday confirmed a one-match ban. United have no right of appeal and Vidic has also been fined 5,000 Swiss francs (£2,985). Under FIFA's disciplinary system, Vidic is suspended from the next 'club competition match at confederation level'. That effectively means the Champions League, ruling the former Red Star Belgrade player out of the first leg against Inter at the San Siro on February 24. The punishment will doubtless come as a blow to Inter boss Jose Mourinho, who claimed Vidic should have been ruled out of both games. United will probably consider the suspension in line with what they had expected, although AC Milan's Kakha Kaladze did not receive any punishment for his dismissal in the same tournament two years earlier. The impact will be softened significantly by the recent return to fitness of Rio Ferdinand from a back problem. Ferdinand came back at West Brom last Tuesday, while Ferguson has stated he expected Vidic's likely replacement Jonny Evans to be out for only two more weeks with his ankle injury. It means Evans should be available for the Old Trafford encounter with Fulham which has been pushed back a day to Wednesday, February 18, six days before the Inter tie. |

Well it would be Rio-Brwn in central def then. Zlatan is due for some Brwn-ing anyways (he will escape Vidic's r@pe at least for 1st leg).
