I'm still waiting for mine, preordered during the PC Fair. Called the relevant electronics store, they said the device will generally be delivered to those who preordered during the PC Fair starting from tomorrow, along with the freebies.

True. I think I've preordered mine at one of the Sony Center which set up booths during the last PC Fair, not CIC nor SonyStyle smile.gif

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I would get mine next week.

I thought we're supplied with the USB cable which serves as a charger as well? From what I know the X1000F supports USB-based charging. Why would we need to purchase an extra USB charger?

I'm not really an expert in audio, but I've to agree with you that iPod distinctly lacks definition at higher volumes. It's rather obvious though in my opinion. That's one of the reason why I held back and waited for the X-series. I guess it's worth the long wait smile.gif

As for the hissing, I presume that it's there somewhere, since another owner noticed the same thing over a review in his blog. According to him, the hissing is less significant compared to earlier models, specifically the S-series. He also claimed that it isn't audible during playback. I would like to know if you picked up the hiss during playback or after playback, if you don't mind. Hehe.

According to the specs in the brochure, USB-based charging takes approximately 1.5 hours for 80% charge, 3 hours for full charge. Hope this helps!

I called the Sony Center who dealt with the preordering of X-series during the last PC Fair this morning. They confirmed that there is a delay in the local assembly factory after they followed up my case with Sony Malaysia headquarters. Customers who have preordered will only receive their Walkmans starting from next week. SIGHS cry.gif

Good for you. I haven't even seriously tried it out myself yet. Just managed to glance through a few features of the demo set in SonyStyle BTS.

Perhaps so, not sure how many of them out there have already got their X-series though. But I'm REALLY relieved that so far, none of them has complained about the sound quality. I'm really excited about it! Hopefully they can get everything ready by next week smile.gif

There's presently limited comparisons between the X-series and iPod Touch available at the moment. However, like I mentioned earlier on, there's a fairly comprehensive review on the X-series, along with some reference to the iPod Touch, in this blog post. Hope that helps smile.gif

X-series has already been launched in Malaysia a while ago, as reported in this Lowyat.NET article. I think what ehsan076 meant by behind the launching date was that the factory manufacturing can't meet the delivery deadline. Correct me if I'm wrong smile.gif

However, I personally believe that it isn't a strategy. This is because when I gave Sony Malaysia a call previously to inquire about my X-series, they implied that they're presently facing difficulties in coping with the increasing overseas demand for the device, just like what Sieg suggested earlier on.

Nevertheless, I agree with ehsan076 that they really should have prioritized the customers who preordered X-series. Can't wait to get my hands on the actual device next week! Woot! rclxms.gif

I read somewhere on the internet that you can generate and manage your playlist using Windows Media Player or other third party softwares, MediaMonkey for example. So I presume it supports .wpl and .m3u playlist formats. Any luck in the operation manual?

Sorry for my late reply. Was out of internet connectivity for nearly 2 months. I got mine on that very same day as well. In fact, I rushed down town immediately after I've received their call. Haha tongue.gif

So far I'm truly impressed by my X1050. It rocks hard time with its sound quality being exceptionally astonishing, as claimed by most quarters. Money well spent! thumbup.gif
