Depends... To me DAP = Diigtal AUDIO Player, and it should be good in AUDIO.

nope, for me the music playback is more important than video. but anyway if the screen is big enough, having video playback function is no harm. is not that i would watch videos all the time on it.
i do appreciate some useful tools like clock, calendar such.

Yes, only WAVE. That's why i said they should have compatibility to play lossless format like FLAC an APE for the highest end model at least.

They probably believe they can make superior sound quality out of inferior sound file. lol

maybe Sony thinks that their DSEE is great enough to turn 128kbps MP3 sounded as good as 1411kpbs WAV eh....

i can only noticed the slight improve over the sound when I turn the DSEE on playing 96kbps MP3.

Yes, DSEE do improves slightly fthe high or low bit rate MP3. But, not much different noticed. If any, it will be a little bit airy sound.

BTW, I am not using ANY of the enhancements and EQ with UM3Xs, and do sound brilliantly. I like it... at this moment..

Normally that one without warranty. Directly from factory. I bought one of the Sony Walkman before here from a forummer, there is no warranty but i have no problem with my unit even after 1 year.

Check the info in the player, see whether there's serial number shown inside, if it's blank then most prob it's stolen from factory.

Or even worse, it may be the REJECTED one .

yeah, a lot of forum members here actually work in sony or have frens in sony penang. so not surprised if they have some test units or prototypes for sale. Anyways, is this new X-sERIES manufactured in PG or Japan? how come no sony store in kl or pg have actual demo units to show?

Sony Style in KLCC do have a demo unit..

talk about demo unit, the one I tried out doesn't have any songs, videos and pics at all. it's silly.... just for people to try touch the player and not testing the functionality.
btw i tried out at BicCamera Ikebukuro, Tokyo.

Or someone just tried the FORMAT feature.
