The problem is that mine got scratches due to some got "gatal" tangan not due to delivery  biggrin.gif so guess this won't count as claim  doh.gif but what if I said otherwise  brows.gif

Wah.. start talking about ICE already, me standard enough already not much into ICE.. if installed this expensive ICE later kena curi habis wo..  doh.gif
*
i think its a bit hard to fool the SA la.. ehhe.. dun do tat la.. SA must be our good fren.. then only help us claim many things...

mine is very obvious smth happen to the car before i got it. coz the scratch is 'under' the clear coat. if from far, you won't notice it. only when u washing/waxing, then only will see it.

i like to call my ICE set up a 'stealth' set up. all amps/speakers are hidden away like stock setting. dun have fancy fancy speakers popping out of the doors / brand names on it. hehe..

installing the sonic sensors prevents ppl from breaking into ur car. mine got a high to low settings so can adjust how sensitive are the sensors. not too sensitive until like flies/nyamuk inside car also alarm go off la... this will prevent would-be thieves to target other cars.

my windscreen air leak is very obvious at 100kmh. even the technician said, while releasing pressured air into cabin, can hear very very obvious air leak. good thing its not water leak!!

some SA very helpful and some needs to be 'pushed' for them to work harder. my service advisor been ok but kind like to drag things around. so i always tekan tekan him do things faster.. hehe..

got such terms named as "seperate component"?
*
aiyoh... nvm la.. separate or not.. its a combination of speakers n tweeters.. component set flex.gif

btw, there are 3 or 4-way component sets with 2 tweeters n 2 x mids controlled by a x-over? i haven really seen one yet. mostly are single mid + single tweeter + x-over.

keep 'icing'.. flex.gif

eujinee, wat spark plug u changed to? normally i would juz change the spark plug every 5k service or 10k service with my last wira. i'm thinking doing the same for my waja as well.

wats the part number for the spark plug on CPS waja? if installed not compatible ones, will it cause electrical interference? i've gone through tat once in my old wira.. messed up my entire auto-lock and the timing... got pinging n knocking in one package.. haha.. after changed back to ori part number spark plug, then everything ok liao.

any inputs in this sector will be nice.

also, wanna talk abt handling as well. feel the ori waja very like to do excessive body-roll.. haha.. maybe coz the car is taller than wira.... higher profile tires (ori 60series tyres)... wat to install first? the front strut bars?

if you really wanna do ICE, never take those 2 way, 3way 6x9 etc. Each frequency of sound should be played only on a specified speaker, else the sound will become muddy.

BTW, just done the shortshifter upgrade.  brows.gif

good to have open debates on the plugs and also the other drooling upgrades on car parts.

from my last experience, the front strut bars are added first on my wira. maybe for waja already body sturdy(strong) enough so not much difference.. i will save up more for the extractor + exhaust and also LCP also. i'll take laytiong n sphiroth advise on the spring + damper upgrades when the current ones are 'konged' out.

on the plugs, i have to agree also tat the plugs are best changed when they are due. after market ones are good during new (like everything else), then over a period of time, you will begin to feel its normal already. I quote from another forum i read last time : " spark plugs just ignites the fuel in the combustion chamber, it does not make it extra stronger or brighter." the fuel mixture will be the one that actually determines the strength/power inside the combustion chamber. anyway, it will all add up at the end also la.. Rm35/set of campro plugs x 4/5 times = 1 set new iridium? hehehe... not wan to pour cold water on u eujinee, but you are cash rich mate! whistling.gif

the standard clarion is good enuff for me. it has 4 pre-amp out which i use the rear ones for my 12' cheapo amp from my prev waja. it also has a aux-in input which i use to hook up to my PDA or ipod to listen to songs.

my ICE installer has replaced the capacitors on my tweeter to give it a more mellow sound. not so harsh and sharp. sounds much better. infact i have no plans of changing the HU cause it plays M=mp3 and wma files. Problem is it cant do search function nia.

plugs dun do much diff. my prev mitu waja running on stock then denso iridium and finally ngk Gpower plugs. FC same, response same, only diff is pocket sakit. and not to mention the denso plugs dun last long. only 60k kms before the electrode breaks off.

Adding a 3 pt UR bar does not make much diff also.

my next mod is to wait for RACE to produce full set CPS exhaust and I'll grab one.

The shifter i'm fine with what i have now, i plan for REAL performance gains. LCP will be next after exhaust and filter.

As for springs I plan on going for R3 ones.
*
my last time my wira also got install caps/resistors to limit the frequency (or so i heard from the boss). it sort of like play until certain volume then cut off. wonder if its the same caps/resistors tat laytiong is talking abt? hmm.gif

at the moment, i haven do the capping thing on my current setup but i will do it soon to get rid of the noise at high pitch (coz the ori tweeters are not performing well).

ICE is according to owner taste n everyone's budget setup. no right or wrong wan. just get something ur ears are fine to listen to. some like loud, some like soft, some like bang bang bang, some like pom pom pom... cool.gif everybody is a winner. thumbup.gif

aah... tat solves the riddle.. hehe.. both resistor n caps are used.

eujinee, good chap! smile.gif monster cps... scary thought...

today pushed some sprints on my cps. 2nd n 3rd gear i tarik from 4k rpm to 5krpm. very robust sound. within a few secs already reached 100kmh.. phew.. i skipped 4th gear go straight to 5gear coz trying to slow down the car.. got traffic ahead n corner also.. hehe.. nice surge of power!

at the car wash, i saw a heavily modded new civic. how to describe.. its speechless. the sides are almost 5 inches extension outwards (those to make the car look wider) whole bodykit and wheel arches, extended spacers on all 4 wheels, air splitter on the front n rear bumpers, huge rear spoiler.... very garang look. but at the end of days, its an auto.. see it sprint also.. half past six type.. sigh.. maybe not wan to squeeze the juice for ppl to see... hear the exhaust loud loud but like no power wan.. hehe.. i think those mods easily rm10k + spray and all. white civic.

faalken r nice tyres series 522 and 912. god ones.

silverstone i avoid like a plague.

michelin is ok too.

toyo proxes is good at wet n dry. but problem is short life span of 20000km. t1-r was the model. 6 yrs ago already. gets noisy after 10k kms. but still has good grip.

installed 912 for 5 days on my older wira n drove it around before giving the car to my younger bro. he untung. the 912 is a good grip tyres too but hard to say after a few thousand km drive.

however, its definitely worth the rm190 i paid for 195/55/15r. free alignment + balancing for buying 4 pcs of rims.. totally burnt rm1400 for that set including buy back of ori 14" rims n falken 322 30% left tyres.

how's ur short shifter? saw a pic in the waja forum. tats inside the GB like u mentioned rite? one seems to be the clutching gear and the other dunno wat is it. so you need to change the gear oil too?

oh.. then the same as waja lo.. dun press the small button long long.. its a panic button as well!!

once u have unlocked the car (press big button), then press the smaller button below it. u should hear a light click. then lift up ur rear bonnet. smile.gif

u cannot open the rear bonnet without first unlocking the car.

hope this helps.

Its actually not inside the GB, more like linkage to the GB. Thus no need to change the GB oil.

im planning to take michelin mxv8 after this original tyre wear out...erm...driving conditions will be sometimes syoik do cornering but in the same time prefer quite ride.... biggrin.gif ....
i want tyres that can stand for cornering...is mxv8 ok??...or xm1??...or any other brands?? brows.gif  thumbup.gif
*
AFAIK, MXv8 is the normal michelin range of tyres. meant for durability and slient for passenger cars. if u wan cornering, go for michelin pilot preceda 2 aka michelin PP2. the side walls of mxv8 is softer so not so good for cornering. PP2 has harder side walls tats why there are no 60 series or 55 series for pp2 (this was the info passed onto me by the tire shop). it makes sense as well coz 55 or 60 is more for comfort levels rather than cornering wan.

my own preference is to have min of 55 series tyres for 15" range. 50 series is too stiff for me although the cornering is great. going over humps with 50 series also needs to be careful if ur car is lowered. so far, none of my cars driven are lowered so you can expect some humps in BP are very very high. rclxub.gif

anyway, get some feedback from the other forums and make ur own choice smile.gif remember not to skim on the tyres coz however much ur life is worth, depends on the 4 pcs of black donuts (tyres). laugh.gif

cheers and safe driving to all. icon_rolleyes.gif

mxv8 is super expensive. IMO not worth the price. i'm on PP2. prev tires were Eagle F1.

PP2 is slightly quieter but the wet grip F1 still wins.

PP2 and Eagle F1 are avail in 55 series ler..

ei? wrong info ar? sorry sorry.. maybe my tyre shop no stock up on the 55 series lo.. rclxub.gif

but check out your local tyre shops lah. whistling.gif

For me, thread design is also a factor when choosing tyres.  brows.gif
*
AFAIK, most tyres now comes with at least 4 gutters like falken 912. then followed by minor thread along each gutter. this is suppose to help with the water dispersion and also the smaller threads will quieten down the tyre noise when driven at high speeds.

anyhow, however good the tyres still dun speed in the wet. keep safe distance. happy driving flex.gif

yikes... serious? most tires in the rm200 region got problem with the wet traction n grip i think..

but i think you are right. even the ori good year nct5 alsonot good traction using 1st gear... can really spin the wheels if u pedal to the metal during throttling... hehehe... i think its not tat good for the gearbox though.. sigh..

sphiroth.. not only morning got speedtrap even at night and early morning also got speedtrap at highway especially after Tangkak exit. Last time, I notice a patrol car parking near Tangkak exit (South bound) just waiting for those "speed demon"..

continue to  yawn.gif

yep noticed tat a few times too. but i dun go outstation nowadays so quite lost a bit with the new updates/hideouts. last time they always like to hide under bridges.

actually, our HId lamps are great to spot the bright blue+yellow stickers of PDRM patrol cars.. hehehe... from far you can see their car 'glowing' i've set my headlamps a bit higher so that it can shine further.so far no complaints from opposite sides and its a good thing we can do some fine tuning on the height levels too. haha..

this week i'm practising hyper miling... trying to upshift at 2krpm. very very very very very slow... rclxub.gif at max also 70kmh at 5th gear. also, i notice that the rpm is always around 1.2k... so just step a bit already over 2k rpm... need to be super gentle on the throttle... hard work!!

maybe can squeeze anohter 10-15kms extra... laugh.gif

loloque, u haven seen the real poisons yet.. biggrin.gif

maybe my balls are smaller, doing 170kmh is already scary enough. i did 190kmh once in a e280 5 years back.. JB to KL in 3 hrs + 30 mins break at air keroh. tat was really a big rush to submit forms.. good thing no road block.. otherwise my head kena chopped off. but my boss car anyway.. haha..

just able to access LYN. weird.. very very slow connection in my area.

woah.. all the topics n tyres n flying around highways at 160km++ 200kmh++

this weekend going uphill genting.. hehe.. hopefully can use some CPS on the way up.. nyek nyek nyek...

lowering ride is really a good way to improve stability during high speed and cornering. strut bars are always good add ons but you have to be cautious which bars to add. choose bars to suit ur driving; never let ur car dictate u... smile.gif

whoopa: neo cps should be out abt same time as the mpv. at least tat wat i heard.

the surveryor: u know where is the sound coming from? back or front?

well.. another consolation abt the getz vs cps waja is tat waja weighs 1250kgs against xxxxkgs.. at least tats wat my waja weighs.. with a full petrol tank + a subwoofer box at the back.. hehe..

dyno.. good idea too..

comparing campro vs cps engine, the rev range between 2.5k to 2.7k seems to have a minor drop even though its less noticable in cps engine. i remember reading abt this in paultan website. i notice the hesitation the engine makes when revving between tat range as well.

today at traffic light.. did a short sprint from 0-100kmh hehehe... but i think i didn't upshift in time in 1st gear.. enter second gear, the whole car like stunned (or watever u call it when the car dives forward).. ahha... then rev then change to 3rd gear n zoom zoom.. hehe..

scared got police only at junction.. wakaka...

bro eujinee, when there is a will... there is a way.. hiak hiak hiak... but why u wanna use a after market engine management unit?

correct me if i'm wrong but siemen vdo is inside the cps unit rite?

we should be maximizing the engine potential with physical upgrades like extractors, cams, pistons etc b4 going for electronic upgrades.

AFAIK, aftermarket EMU (engine management units) only works well if you heavily modded ur car.. pls give comments. tq tq

today went up genting.. not so syiok... cornering like boat... hahaha... stock suspension.. on the way, morning 5am.. doing 160-170kmh on the highway.. superb!! wind sound very very loud.. but who cares... ahaha... unable to reach 180/190 due to parents in car n zzz... hehe...

coming back on the pagoh trunk road.. decided to test the top end rev range from 5k-6k.. so while i was doing 60kmh behind 1 wira n 1 altis.. drop from 5th gear down to 3rd gear... the engine just... ... ... vroom!!! rpm went straight to 4.5krpm... and i tarik the gear until 5.5krpm before change to 4th n final gear.. speed of acceleration was speechless... phew!! i think even the altis driver was surprised.. hehehe...

pro-rs.. i bought it last time at rm230 for wira. good price there and definitely a worthy buy. but i prefer bendix for the brake pads. haven tried imp ones.. eujinee, update us after 5k on the brake pads.

cheers all.
