Just bought my gen2 cps, should get by this week. My 1st car so very excited!
This thread so active... I read from 1st page, in 1 hour got 10 new posts already. Haha...
My car is 2008, but the agent say the promo only 2k discount... some more he show me the stock list from proton, say very few units left only as they clearing stock and production for the Exora. Worst is that only color avl is the black one. Dunno whether kena con or not. When I take delivery will try to ask for some freebies.
Very noob about cars so hope can help me with some questions:
I see ppl saying want BOT the car... what's that?
Where to get R3 parts? I see can install R3 spring w/o voiding warranty. Will do if not too exp. The prices quoted here got include installation?
Also dunno the diff btw strut bars... front, back, under-arm, 2-point, 3-point... Are they exp? I only bought a RM60 one before for my mom's kelisa that connects to 2 sides under the bonnet.
Seems like so many things to mod for this car... I slowly kena poison also...

MT seems more fun and powerful, but driving in KL jam I dun wan step clutch until leg cramp. Like yesterday's flood jam, so scary...

Also R3 parts are mostly out of stock right now. That's information from RACE and Proton Platinum Centre in Damansara. Apparently R3 stopped production end of 2008 and haven't started new production.

For servicing the COE is not far from your place, it's in glenmarie. I only service twice so far. Once proton authorised SC in Bangi, Spin automotive services and The Damansara Mutiara Platinum Service Centre. I'd be going to spin again next time as the Platinum centre very slow and they charge extra for small things like filling up my wiper fluid.

True that. Turbo maintenance also more. I used to drive stock turbocharged car before. Lots more to check and change also. Remember turbo runs hot.

Haha... I dun think I'll go that way for years to come. Just small mods like extractor, camshaft, brake hose, pads, spring, bars, spring, filters, tyres, ICE...

Ya... I checked with NS they also say extractor and camshaft for CPS still under R&D.
If 3rd party SC service, can still claim warranty? As long as Proton authorised right?

I am waiting for my car to deliver , sadly for Manual I cant find Black colour so end up with Grey , discount is RM3088

There is a torque dip around 3.8K rpm, what happen?

referring to the Paultan graph there no dip point, it's only goes flat then up again.

For your case it start to drops at 3.2K rpm when it goes rich and it getting worst when at 3.8K to 3.9K rpm. Meanhile from 3.2K to 4.3K the torque is almost the same while in between it get worst. That could probably due to insufficient air or exhaust release too fast.

Secondly the torque die off after 5k rpm, that's pretty too early. I wonder that is the nature of CPS graph?

i really dun understand when the high lift Short runner the torque die off slowly...

usually the air was not being force, it was being sucked in. Yes u feel the lack as u always complaint there is no power after 5k rpm especially on 5th gear. Btw, did u still feel the hard pull after 5k rpm? I mean from 1,2 & 3.

hey guys..the 'ECU limiter' sometime make me shame...

just drove back to KL from ipoh last nite..doing 140kmh all the way..then KIA spectra pass by..tried to follow..he doing 160kmh...then he increase to 180kmh (maybe realized i was tailed him)..still can catch up.. but after that cannot already   maybe he go 200kmh...but of course on pickup, still can win..CPS rule!

What is the best way to break in my car when I receive it? Some say must stay under certain speed and rpm, some say must rev kao kao and go top speed...

i`ve receive call...proton shoppe said..R3 spring is out...they want to return my deposit..the personcharge said ppl in their head office call say no stock     ...the 1 that i book is mean for gen2 but he said can fit to waja..waja soldout oledi..long time ago... aaiiyah soo regret not collect at first booking i want lowered my ride...guys any other brand that is good?budget below RM500 lorr...R3 is RM475...aiiyah..tension wooo...need to complete this one coz after this is rims upgrade!!..

Will it last? I'm quite anti-abang coz bought a RM20 LED there..burned after 2 weeks~ 

How much is the gad lowered spring? Can see improvement even if use with std abs? I dun wanna go adjustable... that way is poison.

Hey guys, always had some questions about Proton's CPS technology, and thi seems like the right place to ask them. I hope you guys don't mind.

1) I've heard that the CPS engines are quite rev-happy... Is this true and if it is, how does it translate into everyday driving?
    Good. Maybe because it suits my driving style.

2) What kind of fuel economy do you get out of these engines?
    Full tank 50 liter give me 560km. Thats with lots of revving/redlining.

3) How do you rate them in comparison to Proton's older Mitsubishi sourced engines?
    Never drove a 4G18 before..

yes that's right. The piggy should be able to do the job. But I dunno what piggy they recomend to u, to me I'll go for Haltech Interceptor as it work well during close loops and able to control your ignition timing. Some ppl claim Unichip able to do as what Haltech Interceptor does, but I would rather go for product that R3 is using.

Standalone come into picture when you've done major mod on your engine internal and running on seriously high HP.

more people start to change absorber la this year.. sure got a lot of $$$ even in this economic slump.. hehehe..

then u can try use more simple piggy like AFC Neo lo....very cool bling bling...hehehe. But mine always hiding. Only problem is AFC Neo can't function during low throttle but work fine in high (full) throttle.

talk about running lights, did u guy ever think of creating CPS engage light?

if u want to change the spring only then consider Tein, Eibach & R3.....
