QUOTE(norseman @ Mar 4 2009, 10:49 PM) Hello to all the sifus here. Black Gen2 is nice, just need extra effort to keep it clean. Just bought my gen2 cps, should get by this week. My 1st car so very excited! This thread so active... I read from 1st page, in 1 hour got 10 new posts already. Haha... My car is 2008, but the agent say the promo only 2k discount... some more he show me the stock list from proton, say very few units left only as they clearing stock and production for the Exora. Worst is that only color avl is the black one. Dunno whether kena con or not. When I take delivery will try to ask for some freebies. Very noob about cars so hope can help me with some questions: I see ppl saying want BOT the car... what's that? Where to get R3 parts? I see can install R3 spring w/o voiding warranty. Will do if not too exp. The prices quoted here got include installation? Also dunno the diff btw strut bars... front, back, under-arm, 2-point, 3-point... Are they exp? I only bought a RM60 one before for my mom's kelisa that connects to 2 sides under the bonnet. Seems like so many things to mod for this car... I slowly kena poison also... Anyway, can add me in this list: norseman - nanbo black - **** - AT MT seems more fun and powerful, but driving in KL jam I dun wan step clutch until leg cramp. Like yesterday's flood jam, so scary... Dun even know my plate no. yet, haha... Register in Johor but will be using in KL. Can anyone recommend a good service center around Maluri or PJ? BOT=Bolt on turbo. R3 parts can get at Proton COE or at RACE glenmarie. But without promotion, the price are higher than are brands such as GAB. For the bars explanation, go to ultra racing website. Get the MT for most satisfaction. One more thing, even with the clutch fully release and gear engage (1st until 4th), the engine will not stall even if you didn't pressed the throttle, except when you pressed the brakes. This actually make it easier in jam. |

QUOTE(norseman @ Mar 4 2009, 11:05 PM) Thanks sphiroth! Just out of curiosity, AT cars can use BOT also? Will it affect the gearshift? If really wanna bot, get a 2nd hand car. Use the extra budget to mod. BOT will easily cost you RM5k and that without management/tuning.Car is an exp hobby... just detailing alone like glazing and sealing also so much money... Haha... Added on March 4, 2009, 11:10 pm QUOTE(feedzz @ Mar 4 2009, 11:07 PM) Also R3 parts are mostly out of stock right now. That's information from RACE and Proton Platinum Centre in Damansara. Apparently R3 stopped production end of 2008 and haven't started new production. COE is along Kesas highway, but at Glenmarie also got SC. One thing I like about 3rd party SC is that they allow me to bring my own engine oil and stand beside my car when they do the service. For servicing the COE is not far from your place, it's in glenmarie. I only service twice so far. Once proton authorised SC in Bangi, Spin automotive services and The Damansara Mutiara Platinum Service Centre. I'd be going to spin again next time as the Platinum centre very slow and they charge extra for small things like filling up my wiper fluid. QUOTE(feedzz @ Mar 4 2009, 11:10 PM) True that. Turbo maintenance also more. I used to drive stock turbocharged car before. Lots more to check and change also. Remember turbo runs hot. True, furthermore no use of using variable valve lift tech when using turbo as its make the tuning alot more complicated and there's reliability issue also.Sticker and emblem can get at any accessory shop that sells sticker. But to fing the high quality one is quite hard unless if its original. The high quality R3 emblem is RM28 which I almost bought but didn't because afraid later people will steal it. I use Helix Ultra Fully Syn 5w40 but they guys at RACE use Castrol Edge Racing Fully Syn 5w60 for their race preparation package. Maybe its better. QUOTE(norseman @ Mar 4 2009, 11:15 PM) Haha... I dun think I'll go that way for years to come. Just small mods like extractor, camshaft, brake hose, pads, spring, bars, spring, filters, tyres, ICE... Camshaft is not small mods as it already considered the engine internal. Furthermore, have to wait for R3 to come out with performance camshaft for CPS.Alamak, starting to sound like a lot also. |

QUOTE(norseman @ Mar 4 2009, 11:26 PM) Ya... I checked with NS they also say extractor and camshaft for CPS still under R&D. Can claimed, but better claim at SC because faster as they keep more spareparts. If 3rd party SC, usually need to order. If 3rd party SC service, can still claim warranty? As long as Proton authorised right? QUOTE(jVIPERs2 @ Mar 4 2009, 11:27 PM) Very expensive. The Rm60 emblem are sold at RM28 at a shop in Sunway. |

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Mar 5 2009, 09:45 AM) referring to the Paultan graph there no dip point, it's only goes flat then up again. I also don't know why paultan graph is so smooth... maybe it was cause by the characteristic of the dyno machine. AFAIK, every machine will give slightly different result. And another suspect is the VIM switching at 4.8k rpm. Because the car is not moving, the air suck in is still the same regardless of the 'short or long' intake manifold. For your case it start to drops at 3.2K rpm when it goes rich and it getting worst when at 3.8K to 3.9K rpm. Meanhile from 3.2K to 4.3K the torque is almost the same while in between it get worst. That could probably due to insufficient air or exhaust release too fast. Secondly the torque die off after 5k rpm, that's pretty too early. I wonder that is the nature of CPS graph? |

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Mar 5 2009, 01:28 PM) Maybe because the car is not moving, thus air is not force into the intake. So volume of air is not enough when it switches to short runner causing the ECU to decrease the fuel in the mixture to avoid running rich... Mod done: K&N airfilter and exhaust system. |

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Mar 5 2009, 02:38 PM) usually the air was not being force, it was being sucked in. Yes u feel the lack as u always complaint there is no power after 5k rpm especially on 5th gear. Btw, did u still feel the hard pull after 5k rpm? I mean from 1,2 & 3. No problem in other gears, just the 5th. |

QUOTE(loloque @ Mar 5 2009, 04:15 PM) hey guys..the 'ECU limiter' sometime make me shame... I think the main problem/obstacle in upgrading this CPS engine is the ECu itself... just drove back to KL from ipoh last nite..doing 140kmh all the way..then KIA spectra pass by..tried to follow..he doing 160kmh...then he increase to 180kmh (maybe realized i was tailed him)..still can catch up.. but after that cannot already sorry off topic a bit...BTW, how about the TT this weekend? Still on or not? |

Anyone heard of Accumat sound proof? Saw the material at one shop which consist of 2 layer stick together. According to the salesman, its better because save time to install rather than using 2 separate layer. 1 layer is to absorb hi freq while the other for low freq. But forget to ask the price..

QUOTE(IvanDass @ Mar 6 2009, 01:19 AM) Hey guys, always had some questions about Proton's CPS technology, and thi seems like the right place to ask them. I hope you guys don't mind. 1) I've heard that the CPS engines are quite rev-happy... Is this true and if it is, how does it translate into everyday driving? Good. Maybe because it suits my driving style. 2) What kind of fuel economy do you get out of these engines? Full tank 50 liter give me 560km. Thats with lots of revving/redlining. 3) How do you rate them in comparison to Proton's older Mitsubishi sourced engines? Never drove a 4G18 before.. Thanx guys! QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Mar 6 2009, 07:41 AM) yes that's right. The piggy should be able to do the job. But I dunno what piggy they recomend to u, to me I'll go for Haltech Interceptor as it work well during close loops and able to control your ignition timing. Some ppl claim Unichip able to do as what Haltech Interceptor does, but I would rather go for product that R3 is using. But haltech is too expensive, and I don't plan to mod until that extend. Standalone come into picture when you've done major mod on your engine internal and running on seriously high HP. QUOTE(lordragos @ Mar 6 2009, 10:22 AM) more people start to change absorber la this year.. sure got a lot of $$$ even in this economic slump.. hehehe.. After 1 year standard abs usually start making weird noises.. |

QUOTE(zenwarlord @ Mar 6 2009, 11:21 AM) then u can try use more simple piggy like AFC Neo lo....very cool bling bling...hehehe. But mine always hiding. Only problem is AFC Neo can't function during low throttle but work fine in high (full) throttle. I prefer e-manage rather then NEO. More low profile and can use laptop to tune..
