Hello, guys. I have a question here. Recently, I have been helping my friend to sell of her used secondary school text and reference books. There is this buyer who bought a few books from me and the delivery method is using registered post- ship method (slowest and cheapest).

First of all, when the buyer asked me how long it will take to reach him, I told him around 5-8 days (not knowing the exact time it will take).

One week past and the buyer complained that he has yet to receive the books. So, I went to www.pos.com.my to check the delivery status but no results shown.

So, I decided to call up post office and asked about the status and they told me it'll take one month to reach. blink.gif

I was so shocked with his answer. I told the buyer and he told me that he could not wait anymore and requested for a refund.

How should I solve this problem? It's not like I didnt post out the books but it is the delivery method that I choose takes too long.

Please someone tell me what to do. I really really really need help here. icon_question.gif

Explain what had happened, if possible, you can ask buyer to call post office for confirmation.

so, does that mean it is right if I refuse to refund him the payment?

and IF... the books are lost during delivery, does the seller have to bear the responsibility?

If you don't know, Say Don't Know please. Giving a time-frame of 5-8days means that u guarantee the books will arrive within that period.

Wait until the parcel arrive.
I also curious, why it takes 1 month to reach.

From where to where? North Pole to South Pole?

I think your best bet, would be to explain to the buyer that you were surprised by the notification of the 1 month delivery time by the post office personnel, upon status verification. Try to make him understand that both one of you can’t do anything to speed up the process of the delivery and now that the books are being delivered, perhaps waiting for it would be an option to consider. Good luck.

we wee panda, wat mail r u using?

if you're using reg mail it should be around 3-4 days in here, where take around 1 week to reach sabah, s'wak

if you;re using domestic mail. its like take 2 weeks time if to sabah s'wak.. max also like 3 week plus.. haha you can drag the time if you want.. but in the 1st place, is the buyer agree to use this domestic mail?

Knew it was your mistake on choosing sea parcel but it's not your fault in general. Next time must ensure you chose right one. Refund ar... maybe 10% since the parcel is still going to arrive to the buyer's hse no matter what happens between you both. I am one of his buyers and I should say he is reliable but things just occur because of technical errors and I am sure he can correct himself to be more careful next time. At least he gave me an explaination when I have problems with delivery to cool me down xD. Hoping the books will arrive on expected time. Hope to deal with him soon. Support you bro.! rclxms.gif

Ps.. , I am not the "He" he's mentioning. biggrin.gif

I m the one buying ref books from him la.

Jan 5 2009, 02:21 PM

This is the date that he posted the stuff.

I oredi bought the ref books form local bookshop edi so i dun need them edi.

I did mentioned that i need the books ASAP but still tolerated his timeframe of 6-8 days after 5 days waiting.

Now he said 1 month,OMG.

Shouldn't i request for refund?

I agreed to post the stuff back to him too if arrived later and that would cost me as well.
