okkkkkkkkk ! i just bump into this sites. mainly because am VERY PISSED AND TRY TO FIND REVIEWS BOUT THIS PHONE. recently i just bought this SE C905 on 8th mac 2009 ! from TIMES SQUARE. company name is LATEST COMMUNICATION SDN. BHD.(ITS THE SAME FLOOR AS STARBUCKS AND OPPOSITE MARRYBROWN )LEVEL 3. not even a week i have already experinced lagging. ok..1st i thot it was quite normal for phone that has lots of features. and thot i will gve it some time. if this keeps happening and becomes annoying and really bugs me, i will take it back to the dealer. MIND U ITS THE ORIGINAL SET. I GOT THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY FROM SE. NOT AP SET. so yesterday, on 21st mac 2009. WHICH IS MY BAD DAY. ALL of a sudden my phone started to act funny. its ON AND OFF by itself. AUTO OFF basically. and i cant check my contacts. when i click on contacts, its just not opening. then the phone cant be ON for like 2 hours ! IT DOESNT STOP THERE! my Phone started to become HOT! its OVER HEATING for what reason???,….I DONT KNOW! ITS LIKE ITS GOING TO EXPLODE ! WHICH I THINK IT CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS. So my BF called the guy whom we bought it from ..Mr TAKURO LEE. SALES SUPERVISOR ! After few attempts trying to reach him, then finally, he managed to talked to him. SO MY BF SAID THIS IS VERY BAD . HE WANT A REPLACEMENT FOR THIS PHONE. MR TAKURO SAID, HE CANT GIVES US REPLACEMENT. HE SAID ONLY SONY ERICSSON CAN DO THAT. HE EVEN SAID WE CAN GO TO THE NEAREST SE CENTER. SO WE WENT TO KLCC. WHEN WE ARRIVED THERE , THE GUY SAID WE CANT GET REPLACEMENT FOR THAT, ITS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEALER. THEY CAN ONLY DO SERVICING. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT? 2 DIFFERENT STORIES FROM DIFFERENT PERSON ! SO WHO GOING TO B RESPONSIBLE FOR IT? ITS A SERIOUS PROBLEMS WHEN THE PHONE IS AUTO OFF AND OVER HEATING. AND CANT BE CHARGE! AND IT KEEPS SAYING PLEASE USE ORIGINAL SE BATTERY.. SO WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO THINK? WHAT U GUYS BE THINKING IF U WERE IN MY SHOES? U DEFINTELY 100% SURE U HAVE BEEN CHEATED ISNT IT? U TELL ME WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO THINK? MY BF WAS ASKING HIM THE BOSS PHONE NUMBER. HE SAID ‘ NO NEED TO MAKE THIS AN ISSUE, I WILL GET FIRED ‘ !!! WHAT THE HECK? U SCARED U GET FIRED? IF U WERE ON A RIGHT SIDE WHY SHOULD U BE SCARED? ONLY GUILTY PERSON WOULD SAY SUCH THINGS . WEIRD THING IS, HE AT 1ST DOESNT WAN TO GIVE US RECEIPT. HE SAID. THE WARRANTY IS ALREADY SUFFICIENT ENOUGH. THATS REALLY DISTURBING FOR EVERY CONCERN CONSUMERS AND CUSTOMERS . ONLY AFTER WE REALLY ASKED FOR THE RECEIPT HA GAVES US THE ‘ PASAR MALAM’ OR CHINCAI RECEIPTS. ! THEN MY BF SAID NO! THIS IS SHIT RECEIPT! I CAN JUST BUY THIS AND GV IT TO U ALSO! THEN AFTER A LIL BIT OF ARGUMENTS, THEN THE OTHER SALESGIRLS CAME. TALKING TO US QUITE HARSH. AND SHE SAID ‘ OK’ I CHOP(STAMP) OUR COMPANYS STAMP ON IT ! AFTER ALL THIS SHIT EXPERINCED , I FELT LIKE ITS REALLY MY RESPONSIBILITY TO THE PUBLIC TO WRITE A REVIEWS ON SOME DEALERS AND PRODUCTS! JUST BECAREFUL FROM WHOM U BUY IT. THERE TONNES OF CON MAN OUT THERE THAT JUST WANT TO EAT UP YOUR MONEY! AM DOING A COMMUNITY SERVICE HERE. CONSUMER MUST KNOW THEIR RIGHTS! U WOULDNT WANT TO SPLURGE MONEY ON THINGS LIKE THIS JUST TO GO THROUGH HELLFIRE ! !

I dont think customers here in MALAYSIA have more says . I have already sent it for sure. And they said its the software problems. What does software problems got to do with  BATTERY OVER HEAT??? AND WHEN CHRGING THE PHONE IT SAYS PLEASE USE ORIGINAL SE BATTERY???? AND  MR JOHN WOO FROM SE NEVER EVER CALL ME NOT EVEN ONCE AS PROMISED. ITS US THAT KEEP CALLING THEM TO ASK BOUT THE PHONE. THAT AMOUNT OF MONEY RM 1800  WE HAVE SPENT ON THE PHONE IS PROBABLY A MONTH OF HIS SALARY. AND ON TOP OF THAT WE HAVE TO KEEP BUGGING THEM WHEN IT GOT PROBLEMS???

When I receive/make calls, i cannot hear the other person. hv to put on loudspeaker

By the way, a lot of new SE phones do not have the 'Optimized Battery Charging' wording anymore. Its only 'Batter Charging'. If you see something other than these (like what you mentioned), then you might be using a counterfeit battery or an original battery with a defective chip. To check if you have an original battery, you can inspect the holograms, etc. If you sent your in, they will be able to identify it and give you a new replacement. They will settle the issue with the place you bought it from. These things don't need to involve customer.

For the record, my phone (before February 2009 software update) has the battery heating problem. In summary my phone have the following symptoms:

1. Bluetooth connection cannot be established and cannot be turned ON/OFF without removing battery to reset. Not even soft reset.
2. WIFI connection cannot be established without removing battery to reset.
3. GPS is slow to detect. After using GPS, battery will heat up and experienced accelerated discharging/battery drain.
4. SEUS update will always fail.

After the February2009 major update, item 1 to 3 was fixed. I can confirmed it is software problem. In fact, battery heat up is actually not related to battery. It is the MCU that is heating up. I am convinced that after using GPS, it'll fail to close the GPS coding and kept it looping in the MCU wasting unnecessary cycles and causing the heat up. Also, when the MCU or other components is stucked at 100% utilization, they'll use more power and hence place a larger drain on the battery. When battery is discharging at higher than normal, it'll heat up. Simple characteristics of Lithium Ion/Polymer batteries.

However, after update my phone keep on restarting if I perform some specific steps like watching youtube with WIFI on. I am sure it was software problem  because I didn't really do a full reset before using it. So I thought of updating again with SEUS but this time an EROM failure cause it to shut down permanently. So I sent mine in. After a few trips in and out of SE service center, they finally gave me a new replacement phone and a new battery.

Looks like a flex-cable tear? I read that the flex-cable like any other slider phones is prone to accidental tearing. Thats why the earpiece failed to work but the speakers are ok. But this is just guessing. For locations of SE service centers, you can check their official website or give them a call at their numbers.

anywayyyy, i got a call from SE today asking about the "customer experience" for C905. (i think the se service center gave the info in)
In the conversation, i mentioned:
1. keypad problem
2. hang issue (sometimes only)
3. game A and game B buttons lembik

hopefully they will take that feedback n go improve the keypad... then near end of my warranty i go change again. muahahaha.

anybody got any luck with the sms chat view?

I believe SMS Chat was taken off and didn't make it to the February 2009 update. Probably the upcoming one will.

If you have the maps installed in your phone, then by just using the satellite to track your location etc., no charges.

However, google maps will sync the map with google also, therefore standard charges for GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA applies.
