The Essential Teachings of Zen Master Hakuin

I've always been interested in the Japanese Zen philosophy in their aesthetics and how 'white space' and 'nothingness' has a purpose and meaning.

Just finished The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Picked up the book years ago and it had been sitting on my shelf until recently. I didn't know that I had missed out!

Leisurely reading - All Customers are Irrational: Understanding What They Think, What They Feel, and What Keeps Them Coming Back - for work

Just finished Kasyaf by Khairi Mohd, published by Fixi.
Quite interesting storyline and eventually the ending is not an ending.
Does Kasyaf 2 already been published?

Just borrowed Stephen King's 'Under the Dome' and Roslan Jomel's 'Selamat Datang ke Malaywood' from Perpustakaan Raja Tun Uda. It's nice to see they are bringing in new titles lately smile.gif

Will start on them after I finish reading this book on Chronotherapy (halfway through it)

Update: 3rd June, reading Under the Dome. It's really really good!

Finished Shooting an Elephant by George Orwell, thought my expectation a little bit of higer yet did not met the one i was looking for. However, still a good read, a book about life experiences and truth but not fantasy, truth is ugly, society is dark and history is unknown.
(I am kinda fantasy type of reader)

Now i'm reading Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides

I'm reading Stephen King too, even though he is very good in describing the details in his story.
I find it quite distracting, Richard Laymon is more straight forward and suspense. tongue.gif
Loved both.

Finished Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides
Just wow, this book is thick (around 600pages), and I finished it quite a lightning fast, this book is so good.
Narrator was telling his own story: 'I was born twice, first, as a baby girl, on a remarkably smogless Detroit day in January of 0960; then, as a teenager boy, in an emergency room near Petoskey, Michigan, in August of 1974.'
It a story about hermaphrodite, genetic problem from 3 generation of family. It also tells about religion, history of war, Greek mythology as well.
Definitely a good read!

Next I should be starting to read the series of game of thrones, by George R. R. Martin

I've not read Richard Laymon. I'll look out for his books. Which title is most suspense? xD

Recently finished reading 'Yasmin How You Know' which consisted of short and witty anecdotes by Yasmin Ahmad's family, colleagues and friends about her. I absolutely love her after reading this!

Currently reading 'The Stuff You Can't Bottle' - advertising book.

Next read: Harper Lee's 'To Kill a Mockingbird'.

I only done "In the dark" and "Island", kind of nice but some people might not like it.
His description of woman's body is quite detailed, if you know what I meant. Near erotica I guess, since I never read any erotica.
Nonetheless the story is very suspense, that I can't really put it down.
So far don't have any books that make me feel the same, I always distracted by other things. Reading is very slow since I started working.

Island is a better one, there's one thing I don't like about In the dark. It didn't really gives explanation for everything, maybe there are sequel or prequel.
I just simply pick one in the book store. tongue.gif
