What are your thought about this book? I found it a little difficult to finish it, mainly because some parts are a little too draggy for my taste. When i watched the movie after finishing the book, same thing.

I see you finish reading a book really quick ehhh? Must be really into reading books  laugh.gif

No lah because I'm on holiday now, that why I'm very free Lol
Personally, I kinda like the book, maybe it's my genre. I know some of the people might think the book is overrated. But not for me XD

After I finished it, I think of the book is actually telling the teenager's problem in society, like drug, sexuality, molested, family, which is the truth/ugly in society. Some teenagers might facing those kind of problem, just we do not know. For the main character, Charlie been named as Wallflower. He can see a lot things that surround him, but he choose to keep quiet because he understand. To me, he just like: when I see thing, do not means we have to tell someone, we can choose to shut our mouth to show some understanding. After all, everyone has their own life, own path. Actually, a book can has many different ideas for different people.

As long as we enjoy the books and get some inspiration :]

A question to those who are reading / have read Gone Girl, did you pick up the book because you heard about it following its success in 2012 or were you reading it in anticipation of the Fiincher movie?

Interesting ancedote about the book. I had no intention of reading it at all. Was just going to watch the movie although i did hear that the MY version would be censored. Did not know why because i had no clue about the storyline. I am a big fan of Fincher's though. So then my mom asks to go get me the book the next time i am in a bookstore and i dutifuly do. Before passing it on to her i read the back jacket and it sounded interesting. Then i thought i'd just read a few pages to see what it was about. Now i am 200+ pages in and i cannot let it go. The dilemma i face is should i read the book and find out what happens at the end, and of course spoil the enjoyment of the movie or stop now and watch the movie and then continue reading on where i left off.

The boy in Borders who found a copy of the book for me did mention that he was reading the book after watching the movie as he wasn't sure what was going on, so he wanted to read the book.

So fellow bookies, any comments to my above dillema?

I just started this book also! The reason why I pick up the book, was because everyone is talking about it of course. Other than that, I've read the summary and it seem quite interesting. I haven't watch the movie yet, and now I'm in page 140++ I read it whenever I free like when I waiting for bus/lrt, then before sleep XD haha tongue.gif

Finished The Temple of My Familiar by Alice Walker. People said it's the sequel of The Color Purple which is i never read before. But this book, The Temple of My Familiar was bring me lot of enlightenment about the world/people that we're facing, to identify who we are. It's like a bowl of soup that contains the ingredients like racism, human's nature, sexism, religions, history and some mythology. Contents itself might be quite awful, but it's also a truth.

Now, I'm reading Hollow City, The Second Novel of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs smile.gif

Finished Hollow City by Ransom Riggs, people who love fantasy and looking for something interesting, this is a good choice~ But, read the first book is required biggrin.gif
IMO, this book kinda losing its colour if compare to the first book as we know that it's not easy to have a sequel. Nevertheless it is a highly recommended :]

Now, I'm off to The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.
Wish I have a good read.
