Just finished this today. Reminds me of Reconstructing Amelia (Kimberly McCreight). These young teens really scare me, very unsettling and disturbing is just an understatement.
Recommended if you like thrillers, mystery and if you've read Gone Girl, Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. Of all her 3 books, this debut is my favorite.

i think his Gone Girl, was a brilliant book, a rollercoaster ride, slow pick up dragging up, then suddenly all the sharp turns and 360 flips!

Finished The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks, I didn't like it to be honest. I like The Notebook and Dear John, but not The Lucky One because it doesn't make sense to me ._.

for Logan: Why don't you just return thing that doesn't belongs to you!!
for Beth: What make you think that there is anyone who will travel all the way just for stalking you!!
for clayton: I have nothing to say, I think you ain't bad but ain't good..
(Sorry, I dislike the ending :_; I thought I could expect something *sob* )

Next, going to read The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett smile.gif

Hi everyone. I never thought lowyat would have a book club section. Happy there is. Never thought I would be back here even.

Anyway, I am currently finishing Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch and will be reading The Good Luck of Right Now by Matthew Quick soon.

I stop reading books for so long, I lost touch what is good in reading (like Love In The Time of Cholera) and I have been just picking books whatever comes my way.

Best read for me of the lot is Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn. I have to say, I love it more than Gone Girl so the ranking for me is Sharp Objects > Gone Girl > Dark Places. Sharp Objects really terrified me, it's not just the main character enjoying self-harm in cutting herself that her body is full of scars, but also the vivid description of her inner dark thoughts. It also reveals harrowing secrets and conducts of teenage girls in the small town. Couldn't sleep the night I finished reading it sweat.gif Gillian Flynn is just really good in scaring readers with tortured main characters of hers. but oddly, that's also precisely why I enjoyed Sharp Objects, it's just so honest. It's hard to swallow and definitely one of those that really leaves an impact after putting it down. Reminds me of Reconstructing Amelia (Kimberly McCreight).

Girl on the Train has a predictable culprit 2/3 into the novel so the ending kinda fell flat for me. All 3 leads lead very messy lives, cheater, liar and an alcoholic. Hard to root for anyone in this. But the alcoholic's point of view and often derailed train of thoughts are amusing as much as her blackout episodes, which makes it quite intriguing.

First novel of 2016 is Gravity by Tess Gerritsen.

Just finished The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett. An interesting adventure story with a girl, Tiffany who holding a frying pan as a weapon. The only thing i can't get used to it was the 'language' inside, it kinda distracted me when I was reading...

Now reading another book also from Terry Pratchett - The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents.
(wanted to read other books but too thick, ain't easy for me to read it when I taking bus/lrt to work or back home <.< )

Finished The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett! It's more than a fantasy story but very well 'educated' , a story about a piper boy, a cat and bunch of rats, love it so much!! Very entertaining to read with biggrin.gif

By the way, Happy Chinese New Year to all the bookworms~ smile.gif
