Hi Reveur, not yet a fan. I got a few Brandon Sanderson lined up but I need to slog through my Hamilton's Night's Dawn trilogy first. Am in the 3rd gargantuan book. So many stories, so little time!
But feel free to gush about it. Maybe I will bump him up my reading list. BTW, for fantasy fans, Brent Week's Night Angel Trilogy is released in omnibus form. Have not read it but heard good reviews. Available in good old Kino's. Edit : On scrolling through the previous pages, I noticed a lot of ppl trying out George R R Martin! Yea!!! What do you guys think about it? I am not opening a separate thread for it, I can't remember enough of it since I read his books ages ago, got no time to reread them. And reread them I should as there so many nuances and plotlines I have forgotten. I need must try and get hold of Dances of the Dragon *envy* Spoiler Alert !! Don't read onwards until you have read Feast of Crows. . . . . . Jaime Lannister is starting to redeem himself in my eyes. Edit Again : Duh - just realised THERE is a thread open. I'm moving over! Added on June 2, 2012, 9:37 pm hi... may i knw what the story was about? [/quote] The story focuses on the life of a little girl, Scout Finch in Maycomb, Alabama. She lives with her brother (Jem), Father (Atticus). Atticus is a lawyer and is appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man who has been accused of raping a young white women. Although many of Maycomb's citizens disapprove, Atticus agrees to defend Tom to the best of his ability. Other children taunt Jem and Scout for Atticus' actions, calling him a "*-lover". Scout is tempted to stand up for her father's honor by fighting, even though he has told her not to. For his part, Atticus faces a group of men intent on lynching Tom. This danger is averted when Scout, Jem, and Dill shame the mob into dispersing by forcing them to view the situation from Atticus' and Tom's points of view. Well, most part of the story is how Scout lives her life with Jem and Atticus. |

just finished a gem of a book called "Atlas of Remote Islands" by Judith Schalansky. i found it in Borders quite by chance and to be honest had never even heard of it - since it it is a translation from German of a 2009 release. it is a beautifully bound book with the entire book designed by the author herself.
if you like Geography and History and love atlases - this will be right up your alley |

![]() The Catcher in the Rye. The writing style of this book was ......weird. Kinda like how I would express my thoughts lol. Aside from that, I am looking forward getting John Green's books especially Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars and also Michael Grant's Gone series. There are a lot of books that I freaking want to read but lets just save that after my big exam because I have a total of 2months++ of free time to be spent on reading amazing books. |
