Added on June 2, 2012, 9:37 pm hi... may i knw what the story was about? [/quote] The story focuses on the life of a little girl, Scout Finch in Maycomb, Alabama. She lives with her brother (Jem), Father (Atticus). Atticus is a lawyer and is appointed to defend Tom Robinson, a black man who has been accused of raping a young white women. Although many of Maycomb's citizens disapprove, Atticus agrees to defend Tom to the best of his ability. Other children taunt Jem and Scout for Atticus' actions, calling him a "*-lover". Scout is tempted to stand up for her father's honor by fighting, even though he has told her not to. For his part, Atticus faces a group of men intent on lynching Tom. This danger is averted when Scout, Jem, and Dill shame the mob into dispersing by forcing them to view the situation from Atticus' and Tom's points of view. Well, most part of the story is how Scout lives her life with Jem and Atticus. |

Just finished Catch-22 by Joseph Heller.
It was complicating for the first 100 pages or so and made me feel like giving up. Luckily I didn't though. Now with American Gods, The Book Thief, House of Leaves and A Song of Ice and Fire in the line, I'm going to start with American Gods. |
