Thalmes:

I m using Corsair DDR3 1066, 2 pcs 2GB rams on my MBP 13" 2.26mHz SnowLeopard.
Been using since last 3 weeks. Nil problem to any applications. Running all 3 editing programmes....CS4 , Picasa and Lightroom simultaneously...." not really fast and not too slow BUT not hang "...thus satisfy me. Compare to only 2GB running alone, it was too slow ( slow action responding ) when 3 programmes running together. nod.gif

Price that time I bought : RM 165 for 1 piece 2GB
Location :  Digital Mall PJ.

The brand I asking is Corsair ~

Next year I guess will be cheaper ~
Mostly like last time DDR to DDR2 era ~

DDR3 still new in market, but DDR2 price increasing, guess more new computer user will buy DDR3 system compare to buying DDR2 ~

Does anyone knows which shop selling the rams that would do the installation? I'm worried about the incompatible issues and would prefer to test it on the spot before purchasing.

you can install with the same frequency like DDR2 800MHz or DDR3 1066MHz.. Isnt it easy just to open up the bottom and fixing it in yourself.. smile.gif

Go to the apple retailer store if you want them to help you fix it in smile.gif

Normally using Samsung Ram biggrin.gif

that one got the "for Apple" chop...that's why become expensive. even hard drives also like that... juz different format only n they can add rm100-200 to the price sad.gif

the normal corsair stick is exactly the same thing. the one u mentioned was tested on a Mac so Corsair can guarantee it to be compatible. that's like saying a car is guaranteed to run on Shell petrol ;p

if you don't have the "For Apple" chop + guarantee, make sure you save your work, before allowing your Mac to sleep.
Any crash / hang would probably be caused by the non-Apple RAM.

i have early 2008 2.4Ghz macbook white, my problem is my macbook cannot power up
when i changed RAM from 2pcs 1G (2G) to 2pcs 2G (4G) but if i changed only 1 slot it can work.
It will work if i kept original ram in 1 slot & just changed the other slot to new ram and cannot
work if changed both slot. Currently my macbook run with #G ram ,2 slot, 1G(original) & 2G (new).
Any idea to run to 4G, using both slot 2G?

Is it possible that 1 of your 2GB ram sticks is faulty? Swap your current 2GB stick in slot 2 with another 2GB stick. If it boots up fine and registers 3GB, then you have faulty stick.
