Just something to share with all of you...

Went to Klang to install a brake pedal lock today. Long story short, found exactly what I was looking for. It's called Aorto Lock and it's from Thailand. It uses a double lock system with triple locking mechanism. Comes with Y-splitter socket for disabling ignition (no wire cutting). Also comes with multi-color LED when lock is engaged to alert that the lock is ON. Got it for RM450. Thought this might interest some of you here.

Sits neatly beneath the steering.

You can see the double lock barrel here. The lever that you pull the lock falls back into place, so nothing juts out. The pedal lock is spring loaded, so it bounces back when unlock.

Cool. Will consider to fix one for my CR-V too. Step 1 to security measures.

Got a few of questions...
1) how long did it take from start to finish for this setup?
2) warranty period for the lock
3) how does it work? don't quite understand fully. will there be any free play when locked? or does it bother with ur leg when you drive?
4) any drilling or welding to attach the lock to the car?

Added on February 22, 2009, 2:34 am
Yup. Most definitely. If you could come up with some intiial designs then circulate to the bunch of us, I think we can get things going. Whenever you're free, alright? Since we know you're quite bz with the advert. shooting at the moment. smile.gif

As for Q3, no problem with leg room. It won't disturb. My dad has one in his car. Hehe...

i'm a female.. tat's y i dont really have much "technical" info to share with u all.. and i wont be spending much on upgrading the car except security and tint.. i'm just seriously wana search for a reliable security system looking at the no of car stolen cases.. for tint it's just to make my car cool and to escape sun burn.. think security and sun burn are important to female.. kekekee.. anyway learn a lot more from u all and getting excited with my upcoming car..
*
I'm in fact surprised that you're a real female but from what you've mentioned earlier, your car knowledge is quite good. Not bad, we've a few female members here. Too, I'm surprised that you live in the same town with me. smile.gif

me too.. was surprised to see BP folk here especially when u all talk bout Jalan Rahmat, Tanjong Labuh etc.. so familiar to me..
*
Eh, I didn't mention about Jalan Rahmat and Tanjung Labuh. LOL laugh.gif
Let me know when you're coming back BP so that I can host a small unofficial TT here since we've a few guys working and live in here.

Anyway, regarding your car thing, since you've booked, then let it be. Treat it as an experience and lesson. You can always go back and complain to the branch manager if you're not happy with your SA. Should have bought from Lim Motor. Haha... laugh.gif
