Come join us in HC3. GLS has agreed in principle to give our HC3 special rates... Let me know when you are going, might be able to speak to the shop owner to get you a better price.! smile.gif

Speaking about membership, is there any proof to show that we're from HC3?

andy didi then...
anyway.. while looking at the GPS...
our concentration on road might going off..
or will that screen make our vision nt comfortable?

1more thing.. can we link the screen wif our audio system
thus can play MTV? or see movie?
*
LOL Didi laugh.gif
I prefer to put on top of the windscreen because it suits my view. I always keep an eye at the rear mirror, besides that I can also look at the GPS.
Don't worry, it has day and night mode, so when it's at night, it'll automatically change to dim mode. smile.gif
Err, regarding the audio system, movie and MTV, nope.

From satellite and telecommunication towers. smile.gif
That's why GPS knows the location you're now.

i am just wondering, if our car being stolen and we hide the gps thing.... can we track where is our car?
*
Hmm, nope. Because we don't have the tracker device. Our GPS is not a tracking device, unlike CAPTOR's tracking device. smile.gif

i saw the feature also got the speed trap warning.... is it true??
have you tried this feature bro andy??
*
Yes, but it's not 'live'. What GPS said doesn't mean it happens right away. It just tells you that those favourite speed trap hotspots.
Yes, I encountered before when I go up to KL and SG - All the way beeping because those stratches are hotspots.

QUOTE(foocy2001 @ Mar 13 2009, 06:49 PM)
Let me clarify regarding the speed trap warning and road block warnings on the Garmin nuvi GPS unit.

These warnings are included into the Malsingmaps and Malfreemaps. (standard Garmin maps don't have such warnings) They are custom POIs contributed by members of both map communities. When you reach and area that usually has a speed trap or roadblock, the GPS will beep signalling you to be cautious when approaching the area. It does not detect speed traps or warn you on incoming road blocks.

It also beeps to warn you to slow down if the stretch of road is indicated to be a certain speed and you're going above it, say 80km/h and you're driving at 110km/h.

Agreed that FriendFinder is a cheap way to track it but telecommunication towers only give you an approximate location. Better than nothing I guess. Captor GPS tracking system can track your car to within 5 meters of it's location. Downside is if car is in tunnel, basement carpark, covered area, container, then it will not be able to track. GPS signal needs 'line-of-sight', meaning the GPS receiver can see the satellites up in the sky. That's why Captor RF is a better bet if you are interested in higher chances of recovery. Of course Captor RF/GPS is the ultimate la, both systems in one but mahal nak mampus!
*
Got, standard Gamin map also have.
I think for CAPTOR, if not enough budget, can use Friend Finder, combine with CAPTOR's GSM/GPS. That way will save a lot. Hehe...

then the GPS stuff need to re-charge battery?
*
Of course it needs. Battery life is 4 hours maximum.
The package itself bundles with GPS device, in-car-charger and USB cable. USB cable can be used to charge and update firmware/maps.

hey, surprisingly i've got my baby PMM last sat..
the door visor that my SA gave me was not really original i think.. he said from Taiwan.. sien lo.. but the dark tint and the door visor really match with PMM and make a difference if compare with those without it..
very excited driving it..

errmm alarm really sounds like cat and pick up not tat good compare with vios.. maybe i still sayang my car and dont accelerate that much.. air cond quite cooling but if change to direct and rear flow then not tat cool..  steering very soft and light driven.. radio acceptable but got slight ZzZZzz sound.. cd sound is good.. boot damn spacy.. until nearly dropped myself inside it when pulling something from the end.. overall still very satisfied with my baby..

btw, can we still start the ignition if Lock Tech is yet to be unlocked? my SA installed Pro Lock for me.. dunno wat brand is tat and wonder it works the same..
*
First, for the door visor, is it clipped or two-way-tape glued? If clipped, that means it's original.
Second, for the ignition part, if it's locked, there's no way to start your engine, unless you temper it.

will check out the visor later..

yea i think if direct full blast it's still quite cooling even at fan speed 2 and under the hot sun just now.. i think the tint do help as well..

will try to take a pic later.. i normally park at basement so wonder can take a clear pix or not since it's black in colour and installed quite inside.. can just see a key hole there.. it is quite small and attached to the brake pedal.. but quite easy to lock and unlock..

anyway all have been installed so will just accept it.. overall quite satisfied with the car..

oh yea r u all aware of the child lock at the side door there? was shocked when my coll cant open the door from inside.. sweat.gif  u need to open the door from outside then only can see the white small switch and the door panel.. i just learnt to know it.. they even asked me to complain to SA.. luckily i didnt call.. so paiseh.. doh.gif
*
Yes, tint will certainly help a lot.. Bigger cars (CR-V and Accord) has heat-absorbing glass, which functions like a tint. One thing to be careful about tint is the rear heater. Make sure they don't spoil it.
