what you mean input go through output?

Made some changes.. Hopefully its all good..

[attachmentid=3284892]
*
Why still need to loop one of the input trace through output trace?...U can just separate them...

And also forgot to mention, the way u arrange the positive power supply trace also not appropriate....

U should route the trace as follow: switch >> ground splitter IC >> filter capacitors >> OPAMP....

follow your advice -> switch -> spliter -> cap -> IC

thanks man smile.gif

Received all item except for pot with switch, back order from uk, need to wait for another 1 week.

Anyway, i got a question, for led vu meter, should i amplify the audio signal first then do a half wave rectification or vice versa?

thanks
*
if you are using active rectifier, then don't think amplification is required, most of the time must take the loading effect only. But I might be wrong, long time didn't touch that already.

Using LM3915 is it???

too bad for me..

Planing to use LM1875, RM10 each. Wanted to go for LM3886 but cost RM25 each, LOL.

Will need to bridge the LM1875 so it have more than enough power to drive the woofer..

Anyone tried TDA2050 before?

One more question, will it be a good idea to put an opamp(opa2017 maybe) before being amplified by LM1875 ?

I tried to use cmoy(opa2227) with my friend 5.1 set(made by LG), there was a very significant difference in bass and clarity, that 5.1 set cost him around RM700.. LOL
*
LM1875 need a better heatsinking compare to TDA2030A or TDA2050,at the same supply voltage, due to higher Iq

TDA2050,in my long time memory, sound sweeter than TDA2030A....

Quick question about components.

A lot of modders say amps coming out from the production lines have so-so components like capacitors etc. So they replaced them with superior components and reported better audio quality.
What are your experiences in swapping components?
*
Some will sound better and some will altered sound signature.

But remember, unless the original components are lousy enough, otherwise there won't be day and night difference.

I got a question:

Lets say I build a 50W RMS amplifier and pair it with a 25W RMS speaker.

What will happen to the speaker? Rosak or survive?

TQ
*
I don't think u will pump up until 25W.....so should be no problem.....

hi all, i have zero knowledge on the electronic thingy but i would like to take some challenge and build my own gainclone with LM3886, beside all the stuff and scheme that i can get from the web,can I know does the output of the sound is as described on the web the best sounding diy amp one can build with low cost? Also I have some trouble understanding the input power supply, the toroid transformer, how does it work actually?

p/s:I only build a cmoy before with opa2227,on a project breed board
*
No really....what if I tell u that LM3875 also can do the job well..... tongue.gif

For the transformer part, the main function is to convert AC voltage from high to low or low to high level. Our AC voltage is around 230V,so to power gainclone,u have to step down the voltage, let say around 25V,that's the reason u need a transformer....

A point-to-point LM1875 should be fun too. Not much components to play around.

Just need to careful about the heat dissipation,as the package is small but the bias current is a bit high.... blush.gif

might want to buy bottlehead crack. smile.gif but i have zero (well almost zero if u include the times during secondary school's Kemahiran Hidup projects) knowledge on soldering. :/

well, yes, like the youtube link given.

it is known for being 'newbie friendly' setup. hmmm, on a second thought, i might wanna check the youtube link first lolz. i always imagined the assembly to require some sort of soldering.

but then again, i always prefer to hand those assembly stuffs to the professionals or to those with experience. smile.gif

How much do you charge for completing BH Crack build?
*
As long as :
1)Don't need me to find extra parts
2)You bear the transport charges

50 bucks will do the job fine.... tongue.gif

Never really heard, but I listened to only LM3886, sound pretty good, and many ppl claim this is one of the best design.

Between LM3886 and LM3875,i vote for LM3875.... tongue.gif

Quick question.

Anyone know where I can find suitable heatsink for LM3886/LM3875 in Malaysia?

Thanks

For LM3875,I just bolt it onto the metal casing.... tongue.gif

I agree with lex here,it's a true ground....... tongue.gif

Comparator here acts as a voltage detector, and the MOSFETs act as switches..... smile.gif

I have build a few dozen of O2,and I can said it's a not so simple but straight forward design..... biggrin.gif

I will buy boards include ODAC, O2, try to make these 2 into DAC + preamp first, then will hook to another power amp board from CLASS D Audio power amp max up to 300watts, I think this will be the best transparent and powerful setup without breaking the bank, cost in USD will be something like:

ODAC PCB - $99
O2 PCB - $99
CLASS D AUDIO POWER AMP PCB include SMPS - $285 to $500 (based on power watt range from 60 to 300)

Casing a bit headache, coz need very customize, most likely will need some time to work out the design rclxub.gif

Why all the costing so high one? confused.gif

QUOTE(qboy123 @ Sep 6 2016, 11:38 AM)
Hi Audio DIYers..

I am interested to make another audio amplifier since after 19yrs ago my first amplifier was built with the help from my friend. I have no knowledge in electronics stuff due to I am a fully mechanical guy. I'm doing the casing n assembling work while my friend was doing the soldering n fine tune the amp. for me.

Recently when I was clearing my old junk drawer, I found an unused toroidal transformer, therefore I would like to start another DIY to make use this transformer.

The specs for the transformer,
Made: Nuvotem
Primary - 0 - 230v
Sec. : 2x 0-25v (2.4A)
Power rating - 120VA

Is there any DIY project amp. suitable to use this transformer?
Thank you.
*
You can build some IC/chip based amp but won't able to drive lower ohms well, even though the IC/chip able to,as the transformer current is not large enough for the given output voltage....
