QUOTE(gu~wak_zhai @ Aug 1 2010, 11:56 PM) thx for ur reply! hmm true.. after some research.. i think i shld merely use it as a usb converter.. need to research more on the dac part.. do yourself a favour, get a I2S output capable PCM270x chip (of your preference), and feed the signal to any DAC chips that takes in I2S signal. Get VOUT DACs if you're lazy. Not hard, you just have to get used to designing PCBs

QUOTE normal solder do the same thing, possibly even better. You want to hype and have a circle jerk about things that don't bring any improvement, go on and start a new thread to serve your own delusion. This thread has been no bullshit centric for years now (since it's creation), don't bring bullshit into this thread. lol.. not all people need a soldering station kit... normal soldering gun is a good tool too... it is just an alternative to poor people... no hard feeling. QUOTE cool story bro. There's no such thing as tastes when it comes to something so simple. talk about unwarranted self importance. Go away. When ur system is transparent enuff.. then you will know it affects the sound taste.. might not be day and night difference, but u will hear it.

Getting Started

|
Need help here. where I can get a low power amplifier? limited budget due to already have home theater and this is for my bedroom only.
Item(s): Low power amplifier for my Altec Lansing MX5021(amplifier is dead). L/R 25w+25w, woofer 50w. Requirements: Class AB or D active filter low distortion rca input, satelite out, subwoofer out. toroidal transformer swappable opamp/coupling capacitor. minimum power 25w+25 and 50w, higher power is ok, so I can upgrade speaker next time but don't be too high(use in room only). any well known brand or good quality DIY is ok.
or any better idea?
Price: RM200-500.
Dealing method: postage/COD
Location of buyer: Penang
Age of item: prefer new
---
Item(s) conditions: good

I actually made a CMOY amp that worked but when i plugged in my gumstick and ad700 on it....a high pitch sound came up and i did it twice. lol. hopefully my cans are still fine. I changed the IC chip and there was sound but the vocals just sank like the singer is singing miles away while the instruments are just right beside you.

Excuse my n00b-ness:
I'm assembling parts for CmoyBB. Where do you guys buy/source audiophile grade parts?
E.g. Vishay Metalized Polyester Film Capacitor, Nichicon VZ Electrolytic Capacitor, Panasonic caps, WIMA Polyester Film Capacitors, 1% metal film resistor, Alps 10k Volume Potentiometer, various ppamps, & eutectic solder.
I found one shop---MSC Supply & Services---willing to help me order those parts. Not sure about the price yet, still waiting for quotation.
But I'd still like to know any shops that has ready stock for these components.

You can try rsmalaysia or farnell if they have them. 'Cheaper' alternatives are online suppliers and/or ebay..last but not least, forums sold by members there.

Bought an amp kit, from ElecSumo on ebay. Its the banzai jelly kit. But i broke the switch so yea...first attempt , horrible soldering. lol But it works, serious volume for small thing like that. Increases some soundstage tooo on closed cans
