Due to recession and managing issue of my school, everything is going downhill. The school's chief seems like on the verge of bankruptcy. At least the guy is promising us things will get better by the end of this week due to new intake of students from some government sponsored students from Malaysia.

The thing that is bothering me though is I haven't really seen my ACTUAL contract before. My copy doesn't seems anything like a contract. Kind of worried now. I know there's some protection for overseas students if the school closes down and students will be allocated to another school to complete the current course their taking, but the details in my contract should be important if anything happens.

Guess things doesn't really work out the way you planned it to. Studying overseas made me learnt A LOT.

Sure you can, but you have to disassemble the bicycle and pack it into a box. Now, I know FedEx does this, but they charge an astronomical amount too (bicycles have a large volumetric weight). You're expecting more than RM1000 in shipping charges and taxes upon entry to Australia (10% GST + $50 customs brokerage fee).

Large, bulky items such as bicycles, cars, motocycles can be purchased here at reasonable prices. Similarly, there is no need to ship your desktop PCs, TVs, telephones, wardrobe, toiletries or monitors here because these items can be purchased here at reasonable prices (insignificant price difference after conversion) with full warranty, which is a way better deal than shipping half your home contents here.

Hye guys,
Anyone here from RMIT or Uni Melb?
Can you guys tell me how to apply for these 2 unis?
And what are the major requirements? - Esp English Req.

Am from private college (Major in Surveying), and wud like to cont my degree and still, confused right now.
Pls pls can you guys tell me the course fee annually in ringgit approx, and etc (Anything useful/constructive advices) ?

Thank you in advance!
*
Courses fee for all Uni`s in Australia will gradually going up by A1000+, just refer to 2010 fee smile.gif
on average, a degree in Aus will cost from A18K to A30K, and depends which Uni you go to.

RMIT & unimelb which situated in Melbourne City will have higher intake of Intl student.
thus, the fee are high.
And then not calculate the living cost too.
Living cost on average will go up roof sooner not later by this year as economic condition improving but job is still low.

Since you are in a build environment study division of Architecture & Construction; do look at the subjects they offer. Dont go just because of its the Uni name.

Sydney & Melb is the expensive place to live in & study. Here, you don't get concession in public transport & consider the factor of traveling cost & daily necessities.

Uni`s in Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Tassie do have concession for their public transport.in return ,the traveling cost is cheaper.

If I were you, i`ll preferable to go UK or USA for such than Australia. The reason: Australia education is getting more of commodity like export & speaking of quality; its getting bad.
besides, the uni`s are underfunded to equip the fast moving world.

I agree that education in Australia is becoming more of a commodity as they strive to take in more international students each year, especially Uni of Melb. But that doesn't mean it's getting bad right? Furthermore, the group of eight unis receive a lot of funding from the government to conduct extensive research, so I guess they are indeed equiped to challenge the fast moving world.
*
there is good and bad. U got to invest in guinea pigs before a better result is produce.

If the system fail, what will it do?does it have a backup? how its going to repair the world & rubbish produced?
I know the education *architecture* & world order is in a shifting order.

we are glad to be born to this stage & see it our self just not the old education but the new one too.

talking about research, its more of funded partially by companies. Besides, it still cant beat the USA n UK & japan or even China may rise sooner n faster.
It have its foot in science & medical research, land management but further more it still revamping all around its faculties & system smile.gif

QUOTE(Thedonbk @ Aug 6 2009, 11:57 AM)
hi everyone,

I have went through the #1,2,3 post but still i have some doubt here. I would like to pursue MBA in melbourne probably in 1 years time. Not to differentiate which is good or not good but just that i am not pretty sure which would be my choice, looking forward from you guys for suggestions and recommendations.

Some of the choices that i have is :-

1) Deakin University
2) Monash University
3) RMIT University
4) Swinburne University of Technology
5) University of Ballarat
6) University of Melbourne
7) Victoria University

Thanks in AdvanceĀ  notworthy.gif

If you are a person who have strong entrepreneurship & who like to be on the cutting edge of business world, i suggest you to USA/Uk. Its not i`m against your choice but here is a hint; Australia by business corp. takes people from overseas to manage their companies, example: Telstra. BHP & Rio Tinto too are mining companies who take expertise from outside. Now they are looking for more Australia based to do it.
Also,
Depend which kind of MBA they offer that gives you an enhancement or just merely getting a certificate & do not know how the world works.Find out if they have any relation with the industry which can help you out well.
from your choice; if i`m to do. i`ll go with Monash,Unimelb, RMIT
tats my humble view. icon_rolleyes.gif

I've asked around people that have graduated and are applying for PR. They told me that you would have to take IETLS in Australia IF you want to apply PR. For university applications, IELTS in home country is ok.
*
yes, it is also depends on which visa category you are in. like your case is Visa 457- Skill Migration. So u gotta take IELTS as part of the requirement.

First I was curious when I found there's no LYN members studying in Bond University. I knew Bond U by it's advertisement through my free calendar notebook by a local education agency. Then I browse into Bond U's website, reading through their course description and it states that their Bachelor Degree can be done in 2 yrs  ohmy.gif . How the hell that can happen? People must be studying like robots. rclxub.gif  After that, I looked through their course fees. In completion of a Bachelor Degree (Without honours) in 2 years, the total tuition fee ranges RM 200,000 and above which is out of my rough estimation on their course fees. I thought I must been dreaming or didn't see things clear enough since now's 2AM. So I googled about Bond U. Out of my surprise, Bond U has been rated by Forbes as one of the most expensive universities in the world (top 10) in year 2007-2008.  doh.gif . Now I know why.  shakehead.gif
*
you got be careful with the Uni`s info they are supplying.
some university are overcharged in fee & doesn't give the best stuff you are paying for.
Like poor facility, poor tutor, dicky facilitator who know nuts what you are doing..etc.

QUOTE(+3kk! @ Aug 30 2009, 08:18 AM)
its still super expensive for a relatively unknown univerisity, i mean like curtin and monash are private

QUOTE(Oriental @ Aug 30 2009, 08:30 AM)
I didn't know Monash is a private university  hmm.gif
*
yea; well not only that. Go8 uni`s and ATN are basically moving them self towards more private & you will see it more by 2012 but there will still have government interest.
