for everyone's viewing, please see this link for tyre prices..
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/377857i believe that the r17 is still cheaper than r16 for the same make.. on ur comment on the warranty, i m only planning to change the rims after the warranty is over / almost three years.
Could you quote the comparison?
There's way too my tyres on that list and I'm not sure how 'updated' the price is.
Enlighten me though how a R17 tyre can be cheaper than the corresponding R16 tyre of the same make and model (taking into account the width and height*), 'cos I've not seen any so far. My previous ride.. My NCT5 16" was RM250 as oppose to < RM200 for an NCT5 15". Cheers

* - Larger tyres = more rubber used = lesser tyre production (hence, lesser economies of scale) = more expensive?

You can do an experiment on NKVE or Kesas Highway - Logically, the faster you go, the more the current FC will drop. However, since there's not much traffic on the highway, FC will remain constant. The only other car I've heard able to achieve such ratings is the Sylphy so 17.8L is quite fantastic.
The ideal rev should be above 2k but under 3k if you're doing less than 110km/hr while optimal FC occurs at 90km/hr. One more thing, you should be able to hit 400+km easily on a full tank of gas. I know first hand that previous generation Vios can do 520km on a full tank of gas City/Highway combined. There's absolutely no reason for the NHC to have problems equalling or bettering that performance.
I think if I can get about 450km on a full tank of gas with mostly city (KL) driving, I'll be contented.
Right now.. for the first full tank of gas, think I'm getting about 400km.
