make sure u buy frozen seafood.... it's very cheap in twu.... n then there's this keropok in twu called Amplang... must try! it's round fish biscuits, i know u see it everywhr but, it's like eating lekor from tgg... not much to do in twu, shud drive sumwhere else or jz go to sipadan and chill...

The ironic thing is...since your gf is from there..she should be the one bringing you around...not you bringing her around...then probably you can be a gentleman by paying for her meals and stuff

i'm from Tawau. Seriously theres nothing much to do there. 1 or 2 days you'll start to get bored.
the fun starts is when you go towards semporna, you can go to various islands from the jetty |

there are only 2 place of attraction in tawau but didnt remember the name...... there is a waterfall with nice view.......only when i went there its raining season so the water kind of murky........ another one is a cave where people go collect the bird nest........but had to go at a spesific time like april to june.........or august to october....... actually these place are about 70 km from tawau.......in an area place called kunak........ tawau there is nothing interesting..........last time went there i bought a lot of fish coz there its cheap and big.......if u like seafood than go to tawau market........ |

waterfall is TABLE ka.
Kunak, nothing muicc there. Got caves loh can see bird nest. And also buy real and quality birds nest in kunak. |

Is there any direct bus from Tawau airport to Semporna? I know there is bus to Tawau but how about bus to Semporna?

Yeah me going there this Saturday but still trying to google for the best & cheapo way going to Semporna from the airpirt..RM100 taxi rate is unaccepatble!!

I saw the RM 100 by taxi from airport too. But there's also mini van from Tawau City to Semporna town, RM 10... Maybe the cheaper way is to get into Tawau city, rather than to take taxi from the airport??Me going next year, ha ha, 3rd uncle is in Tawau, so, will be free transport for me... I'm thinking of doing this too but it will be very late. Going to Tawau by 6:30pm & thereafter no idea when the nxt minivan gonna bring me to Semporna...I've booked dragon inn & yet can't find alternative direct transport to Semporna except going to Tawau 1st...haizzz X2

Airport to city by taxi also need 30 ringgit liao, so, maybe u no choice got to go with the "official" airport cab at 100 ringgit lor. Unless, you can get the "sapu" taxi.
Then again, arriving at that hour, my guess is maybe the "sapu" one also not much cheaper, coz they know you are desperate to get to Semporna before getting too late. And as usual, these cab drivers will give excuses such as, "hiya, later I empty cab back here one wor.." Good luck to you. |

Ok-lah decided to rent a Viva for RM80/day for 4 days liao..but hor...on the 2nd & 3rd day is such a waste bcos will be full day snorkelling
