for backpackers, uncle chang is the best choice if u plan to stay in mabul, very near to sipadan. good for divers. snorkels also not bad but last time i went there, lots of landak laut

let me put in simple to understand word.
diver = use oxygen tank, can go to deeper sea
non-diver/snorkel = no tank, just mask



u need a license to be a diver.
an open water course would normally cost around RM1200, more or less.

pick ur choice, either go snorkelling, diving or spend time on virign island. pretty beaches there.
