Vorador: My sound comes from on-board sound card. Bose amplifier and mechanics will do the rest to produce quality crisp sound:)

Thanks for the cheers mate.

Added on June 29, 2011, 1:33 pmBack in those days my first high quality desktop speakers was Altec Lansing 45.1 and followed up by 48.

Honestly speaking 45.1 was a good speaker compared to Altec Speakers produced in this era. Due to cut cost, cheaper material, R&D etc. 48 was a big bang:D

i'll agree that the old ACS45.1/48 and the ADA885 series are the last best thing from altec.. any other models after that are just to fill their pockets with the successful brand name...

Kevin613: Yes, after the brand is established in market as high-end product it start to produce crappy speakers. As you mentioned just to make profit from its' brand.

I was Klipsh GMX2.1 user for about 2 years..It's actually not bad:D Can handle really loud volume.

GMX2.1 is not bad, but its bigger brother is still better, the Promedia 2.1..

Good setup:) You must be a movie-person. Enjoy relaxing at home watching movie with family and listen to music.
As for me, my living is orchestraed by a 7 years old B&W of mine c/w rears too. Yamaha Amp. Next year wish-list is to look for a REL's subwoofer. That would add the cinematic effect!

And yes, I have a Shure ear piece that cost around 800RM. Cuts out the external noise completely and a true experience!

If anyone does not have high demand and pampered ears.

Altec Lansing or Edifier can mow the lawn. Otherwise get BOSE multimedia series. Confirm will satisfy your hearing needs. Just on board sound card can produce quality crisp sound.

Bro, I said if anyone have high demand and pampered ears. For audiophile they won't matter the price because it understood the quality that cannot compromise.

Chill..
