QUOTE(-kytz- @ Mar 1 2011, 12:03 PM) And it still sounds good? i think the S530 is not just another set of PC speakers.. try them if you havent heard them..I'm surprised because PC speakers work best within a very short distance like 2-3 feet, because anything further than that you lose a lot of details, dynamic range, clarity, bass, etc. And also because, PC speakers aren't even designed to drive sound to the whole room, what more for a distance of let's say 8-10 feet? i personally found it to be good, and in fact better than those sub RM1k HTIB set, as most of those are using only a single full range driver with a big woofer housing a tiny sub. Sub is powerful, but not boomy, and sats are reproducing the mids nicely... and also the fact that i like it to be made of wooden MDF housing for all speakers.. check the specs for s530 below » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by kevin613: Mar 1 2011, 12:46 PM |

QUOTE(clawhammer @ Apr 7 2011, 05:13 PM) Yes, I know Mr. Bong For some unknown reason, i seems to prefer the older Promedia 2.1 more than GMX, but it is no where to be found in malaysia anymore.. The last time i've seen and heard them is on 2002, belongs to my ex-housemate, and i believe its a specially ordered unit, and running on a step down transformer..It is indeed a great set of speakers. If you don't like it anymore, please sell to me http://www.klipsch.com/na-en/products/prom...specifications/ This post has been edited by kevin613: Apr 9 2011, 07:51 AM |

QUOTE(WSL999 @ Jun 29 2011, 01:27 PM) Vorador: My sound comes from on-board sound card. Bose amplifier and mechanics will do the rest to produce quality crisp sound:) i'll agree that the old ACS45.1/48 and the ADA885 series are the last best thing from altec.. any other models after that are just to fill their pockets with the successful brand name...Thanks for the cheers mate. Added on June 29, 2011, 1:33 pmBack in those days my first high quality desktop speakers was Altec Lansing 45.1 and followed up by 48. Honestly speaking 45.1 was a good speaker compared to Altec Speakers produced in this era. Due to cut cost, cheaper material, R&D etc. 48 was a big bang:D |

QUOTE(WSL999 @ Jun 29 2011, 01:46 PM) Kevin613: Yes, after the brand is established in market as high-end product it start to produce crappy speakers. As you mentioned just to make profit from its' brand. GMX2.1 is not bad, but its bigger brother is still better, the Promedia 2.1..I was Klipsh GMX2.1 user for about 2 years..It's actually not bad:D Can handle really loud volume. |

all the good old brands in 90s like Altec Lansing(dunno being changed hands for how many times since 2000), Cambridge soundworks (bought by Creative, which itself is almost a dead brand now), Boston Acoustics (no longer making multimedia products), Labtec (bought by Logitech) are all goner now.. gone are the good old days where companies pay attention to sound reproduction more than designs and profits..

QUOTE(GoD99 @ Dec 31 2012, 01:55 PM) if goes to headset i will stick to my Monster Beats Studio by Dr Dre. Its really a music lover top choice, regarding of the pure quality, bass and etc it can provide OOT, but bolded parts are argueable.. i think its safe to conclude that u're a bass lover based on your speakers and headphones choices.. |
