In my opinion, common brands like Sonic Gear, Altec Lansing, Creative, Edifier and etc. Are cater for average buyer at affordable & reasonable quality. Fair enough.

However, serious Audiophile will opt for high end renown brand like Naim, B&W, REL couple with an amplifier to boost the experience.

Currently I'm using Bose Companion 3 which is above satisfactory:)

Thank you!

Vorador: My sound comes from on-board sound card. Bose amplifier and mechanics will do the rest to produce quality crisp sound:)

Thanks for the cheers mate.

Added on June 29, 2011, 1:33 pmBack in those days my first high quality desktop speakers was Altec Lansing 45.1 and followed up by 48.

Honestly speaking 45.1 was a good speaker compared to Altec Speakers produced in this era. Due to cut cost, cheaper material, R&D etc. 48 was a big bang:D

Kevin613: Yes, after the brand is established in market as high-end product it start to produce crappy speakers. As you mentioned just to make profit from its' brand.

I was Klipsh GMX2.1 user for about 2 years..It's actually not bad:D Can handle really loud volume.

Good setup:) You must be a movie-person. Enjoy relaxing at home watching movie with family and listen to music.
As for me, my living is orchestraed by a 7 years old B&W of mine c/w rears too. Yamaha Amp. Next year wish-list is to look for a REL's subwoofer. That would add the cinematic effect!

And yes, I have a Shure ear piece that cost around 800RM. Cuts out the external noise completely and a true experience!

If anyone does not have high demand and pampered ears.

Altec Lansing or Edifier can mow the lawn. Otherwise get BOSE multimedia series. Confirm will satisfy your hearing needs. Just on board sound card can produce quality crisp sound.

bro ,BOSE too pricey for PC...

Bro, I said if anyone have high demand and pampered ears. For audiophile they won't matter the price because it understood the quality that cannot compromise.

Chill..

bro, on board sound card able to use BOSE multimedia series?
*
Yes you just plug into the sound card and good to go. For my model is Companion 3.1. So far the standard is far beyond any multimedia speakers in the market so to speak. Unless you say Bowers & Wilkins and other renown brands.

If you have lots of money to spend most likely you are advised to consider and shop at Atlas HIFI. This is my personal opinion. Choosing is a highly subjective thing. cool.gif

hi guys..want to ask...what bestttt speaker i must choose...i like play games like war,action...and i want the bestttt..n cheap..hehhee...please please tell me guys..thanks

Ok. You are looking at Cheap yet Good quality. I'd recommend Altect Lansing or Edifier. The rest you have to put in effort survey. To yield the best gaming experience. 5.1 speakers and a good sound card. Unless your SC can support 5.1 or THX. That way it should do it.

notworthy.gif thanks bro..must survey..but the price around rm200 above? and what model i must buy if i want the altect lansing?i hear my frend tell me.the old model altect lansing so best than the new model..it is right bro?
*
Depends on your budget actually. For your best buying encounter is you goto the shop and hear each individual speakers with your own ears. By telling you which model is good and good does not help.

Regarding the older model back in the early 90s the Altec Lansing 45.1 is the best selling model. Now all speakers have integrated and cut cost on the material.

You may want to try inquiring over here: Special Interest -> Home Entertainment -> Audiophiles -> Please Recommend... a 2.1 or 5.1 speaker set V4, Comparison and advice needed (PC Audio). Usually for RM200 above, my usual picks would be Edifier M3300 and Edifier M3400. Still, I would recommend testing the speakers first (at the shops) before buying since most people may have different listening preferences. wink.gif

Yes. Most of the people here ask how is this and that. As aforementioned it is best recommended to take the trouble to visit the shops and listen with your own ears for the best results. Haha people tend to be lazy some times and want to be spoon fed. It happen most of the time in forum around.

BOSE is a marketing crap.. for the price u pay, u can get like a few times better product for other brand.. Offcourse u don't get the good impression buying other brand because people only know BOSE cause all their R&D fund is put for marketing..
*
Don't anyhow insult and kutuk other brands. Everything sure got its Pros & Cons. I am a 2 years satisfied BOSE customer and of course aware of their marketing strategy etc etc.

It's established since 1964 and have variant track records if you look into their history. Many auto mobile giant built-in BOSE systems in their premium line vehicle. Of course other brands come to the picture too. Bose have this advantage which provides materials testing and durability simulation instruments to research institutions, universities, medical device companies and engineering organizations worldwide (source).

Respect other brands. We're all consumers here to share points and view not kutuk from north to west.

Thank you tongue.gif

Yeah it create the premium feel without the premium sound tho.

Go Google up those ppl who dismantle their Bose Speakers and shown what's inside?
The noise cancelling system simply don't work that the whole US Air Force is forced to recall all their purchased product which cost them billlions.

They should have change their slogan from

Better Sound Through Research --> Better Sound Through Marketing

Edit: This is a rather famous BOSE bashing website, at least he came out with emperical data
Better Profits Through Marketing

Ok you have the facts sorted out.

Still I'm a satisfied BOSE customer. If you want excellent quality then you should consider Bang & Olufsen a likes.

Talking about other brand is too subjective and will never put a full-stop.

I am not sure about speaker.. I am happy for my AE Aego2 too, little shabby for bass but just my taste..
After all each person have their own preferences  smile.gif

I hate my other sounds system in my house,
a harmon kardon multimedia speaker in my room <-- connected to my keyboard, makes my keyboard sounds so bad.. cant afford a monitor T_T
a yamaha 5.1 home theatre system used to be okay when last time 2 bookshelf speaker were in use but now it really sucks.
a philips soundbar in upstairs living hall, rubbish sound system, blame it on purchase without even listening to it..

Sound I like (Headphones/earphones value for money)
- Grado Sr60 (Good til now)
- Soundmagic PL50 (Need time to get used to it, but rather bad built quality, broken now)
- KCS 75 - my first audiophile earphone (Happiest ever purchase at RM50 although waited like 3 months)

Nice. Speakers are also a highly individualize thing.

Cool collection you have there:)
