guys, been reading thru this forum for while and decided to get a foldies for the wifey but still unable to decide, went to shop around pg island and got recommendation on several brand, i.e. dahon, oyama and most affordable raleigh uno.. currently leaning towards oyama a taiwan brand (but shop claim it was from japan) the fitting lok goods but not really sure abt the body quality and raleigh for the price and upgrade that i can do for the budget balance.. dahon came in last due to the price... the question is anybody got experience with oyama before?

quality = $$$
for wifey Raleigh UGO will do enough... best bang for buck!

neva tried oyama before but i have a XDS foldie A8, pretty decent and rides pretty well... body quality for most bikes u mentioned should be fine... the thing that separates between a good foldie is how their fold mechanism is designed

if they patented their fold mechanism, its gotta be very good and well proven.
example on Tern, Dahon (Lock-jaw), Brompton, etc

claim to be made in taiwan,
tons of it selling in Taobao,
the kinetic wheels selling bout 1600RMB
the other 20' about 1098RMB.

u try emailing cyclopedia n ask them how much they sell,
if u can find here, dun be surprise that the price will be much much more higher..
small wheel bike stuff are still consider 'no market' here in msia
those business ppl won't sell them - yet? unless in SG or thailand.

i would not hesitate to get it from taobao, if i really want it.

Sorry to bring up old post. Found this post from Google.

Wanna ask you guys opinion...Is this LitePro Kinetic any good?

Bearing better/Lower rolling resistant?

I know is lighter but not that much so it's not my concern.

use toabao better... more sellers, more competitive prices...
some are bike shop owners i believe
they also owe up to their reputation so they will deliver quality products

here's my review on the litepro rims + kojak tire...

did 28km ride yesterday with my P9
feels easier to get to 9th gear and much lesser resistance (air/road)
with the kojak tires, u really can push and it will just keep going faster n faster
not so bumpy ride, still in comfort zone comparing to stock rims/tire

the Litepro hub performance is really good, very very smooth and almost frictionless
the rear hub also has a nice sound when u cruise the bike

i would say much better than kinetic comp wheelset smile.gif

gonna get another one for my Silvertip smile.gif

went to the shop, compared few bike, eco c7, boardwalk d7, oscar, polygon owh and mup8.. almost end up with boardwalk but it did not come with the back rack so in the end really go for eco7 for the look.. and almost get killed by the home miister due to wanting to get the mu p8... also she cant understand why got to spend so much for a foldie, even my mtb also cost less... but after have a round with it then she understand and forget abt the oscar & polygon which is not even half the price...
