Jesus tap dancing CHRIST!

to each his own...for God's sake, to each his own

this topic isn't even flameworthy honestly. just fanboyism taken to another pointless fanboyism level.

U say bad year for xbox? Fine, I'll go play GOW2 or <insert nice xbox game>

U say bad year for ps3? Fine, I'll go play Resistance 2 or <insert nice ps3 game>

see the pattern? never-ending right?

It's not even worth fighting anymore ler.

Countless "Whic betta? Ps3 or xbox?" threads are around to the point it's not even disgusting anymore. I just accept the fact that fanboyism is a disease and we must be pitiful to those who have it.

take for example the worst victim of fanboyism, lightning69.

Pity him lar. Obviously suffering for a long time edi. Last time I flame him, but now I think better I sympathize him.

That goes for all of you out there:

To those who are lucky enough to be immune to fanboyism, lend a helping hand to those who are not.

lol. brainless.
so you are saying that millions new 360 users will pirate their games?
do you even know how hard it is to pirate a game outside asia?
especially in the US where most ppl are not that IT savvy?

if you are smart, you will know that in any product, price point will make a difference.
normal layman will look at ps3's games and compare it with 360's and say they look identical.
then they compare the pricing of the machines.
360 looks more appealing since it's cheaper.

that's why it's selling more than ps3.

of coz you get ppl who don't care about graphics and just look at the price, the Wii buyers.

if you don't have anything good to add to the thread, please stick to your ps3 forum.
coming in here and posting one liner makes you look like a retard. period.
woa, i'm feelin the love here already
.
"especially in the US where most ppl are not that IT savvy?" WTF? shocking.gif

but surely, you can't deny that being able to run 'backup' games does contribute towards better sales.
too bad they never post up statistics on the most downloaded/torrented/rapidshared games.
but once they break bluray's encrytions, then we'll talk. but for now i stand my ground.
and put out that flame will ya?

it is already broken...
i know some blueray videos being copied to DVD-9 lol...
jz that piracy for blueray will never happen due to the cost of a blueray disc...
it will stay that for a long time till blueray is finally able to rival DVDs...

still ur reasoning on piracy helping sales wont really matter overseas...
they are really strict overseas especially US...
unless of course you are: -

user posted image

as for XBL...
i think the price is pretty standard since its US-based...
is it cheaper buying it on9 with credit card?

its only possible for movies (1 hour)...
my fren tested it and a one hour show is 9gig!!!

so piracy in blueray media is pretty much impossible for large content...

Erm piracy in the US is easy. The only difference is that games aren't openly sold, so you have to download or whatever.

The only reason piracy is less rampant there is because of economics. A single 8-hour shift at McD's and you can already buy 1-2 new games, if the ratio for game prices here in MY is similar, we'd have a hugely low piracy rate too.

[edit] not to mention game rentals ... when I was there I had a gamefly account, can't remember the price anymore but it was ~$20 a month for unlimited 2-games-at-a-time rentals. What's the point in pirating when playing original is already so cheap? But now back in MY ... zomg, 160bucks per game? That's almost 2 days of a starting salary for a degree-holder ...

I've seen dvd-9 pirated discs at a shop near my house. I don't think it's real HD, probably a rip of some sort (lower bitrate for the video or audio or both). I mean, quick google shows that blu-ray pirates of the caribbean is 46gb ... if you full copy to dvd-9 also need 5 discs, hehe.

well what we are seeing now is the repeat of previous thing.
before this we have dvd rip sold to vcds.
now blu ray rip sold on dvds.

trust me, by the time dual layer rewritable blu ray media hits 40 ringgit, pirated PS3 games will be rampant.
at the current price of 90 ringgit it's not feasible yet to pirate the damn thing.

the technology is there. just the media is too expensive.

by the time dual layer rewritable blu ray media become affordable and pirated ps3 games exists, can we label all ps3 owners as playing "ahems" games?

don't quote me if want to give serious answer. i'm too old to have a debate. tongue.gif
