Hmm... PS3 -> GT5. Xbox 360 - Forza 3 ?

PS3 -> Killzone 2. Xbox 360 - Halo 3 ?

I believe the Xbox 360 sells by the bucket load because of the price drops that occur and the killer titles available for it.

true. ppl want to play "next gen graphic" games but don't want to spend a lot.

Ya, I have GOW for WINDOWS and GOW2 for 360... technically, the windows version pawns the 360 also tongue.gif I bought 360 for GOW2 as it was announced that GOW2 won't be release on PC  sad.gif
*
of coz. any games that has been out on PS3 and 360 will be pawned by PC version. you can't compare it that way.

known fact that tho Cell is extremely powerful, it's surrounding architecture hinders developers to get the full benefit of it. bottlenecks in bus, slow RAM access, slow data transfer from Blu-ray device : everyone of these problems kills the potential of the processor being used 100%.

reason why Kojima-san doesn't not want to port MGS4 to 360 is not because of the hardware. just that he doesn't not want to do it. simple as that.

any games that's on PS3 can run with acceptable and playable quality on 360 : this is a fact. plus 50GB of data for MGS4 is mostly comprised of UNCOMPRESSED audio which can be compressed easily for DVD-9 release. heck i know a lot of ppl will still buy it if it comes in 2 disc (i would too).

so really there's not much issue in terms of graphics on 360.

LO is just a bad example. clearly the developers have not have enuff experience with Unreal Engine like most failed Unreal Engine-based games. check out the difference between graphics on PS3 and 360 version of Saints Row, GTA4, and even Burnout. and those are a few of handful multiplatform game that has been released in the wild.

Yet GOW 2 is superior in terms of texture, no. of AI/enemies on screen, taking no hits in gfx department for multiplayer & coop (jump in jump out on the fly), practically no loading. The best part? It's DVD only... biggrin.gif

You play MGS4, you should know its gfx only excel in the form of cutscene but during gameplay it isn't "omg wow!". Uncharted would be a better choice for graphic showcase, don't you think so?

Now lets discuss Haze and show ps3's power-less performance! laugh.gif At the end of the day, PC pwns everyone...the most expensive rig out there, yet more & more developer are taking less advantage of its spec with Crysis being the last of the remnant, Blizzard is gameplay focus, Valve still squeezing its HL2 engine, Epic a console-centric company now, id software..quiet. Why? Console gamers buy more games... sweat.gif
Besides, there isn't a definite answer to whether ps3 will perform better in the gfx department yet unlike last gen where everyone know something as a fact.

However there is a distinctive difference between Sony & MS 1st/2nd party game...Sony 1st party game tend to focus more on singleplayer cinematic experience while Microsoft 1st/2nd party game emphasize very much on the balance of singleplayer, coop & multiplayer. That's my 2 pennies, let me know if you agree or not. smile.gif
*
agreed. a lot of ppl forgot the fact that MGS4 is 70% cutscene and 30% game. which is why to me it's absurd that the game won some "game of the year" award and nominations.

and yes. i do agree that Sony's 1st party/exclusives titles are more limited to single player experience (uncharted, MGS4, Ratchet and Clank) while ALL MS's 1st party/exclusives will have a kick-ass online multiplayer portion of the game. heck you can even completely skip the single player mode and jump straight online (GOW 1 & 2, Halo series, even Fable 2).

lol do not want to turn this into game bashing....GOTY is that game site's opinion, different site different opinion. There is nothing wrong with it... biggrin.gif
*
hehehe. not bashing la. just stating out the obvious fact. ppl seem to think MGS4 is "the one and only game that defines PS3" since it came out when they totally forget that the game has more cinematics and dialogues of FF7 - FF12 combined. biggrin.gif

i jz notice MTG in ur siggy O.o
still playing?

actually mgs4 really complete the plotholes in every mgs perfectly...
*
yup. almost everyday. biggrin.gif
if MGS4 were a hollywood movie, being the last one in the quintology, critics will call it as rushed with erratic pacing.
why? because it tries hard to resolve everything that's been done thru out the series within this one movie.

only becoz xbox can play 'ahem' stuff. period.
*
lol. brainless.
so you are saying that millions new 360 users will pirate their games?
do you even know how hard it is to pirate a game outside asia?
especially in the US where most ppl are not that IT savvy?

if you are smart, you will know that in any product, price point will make a difference.
normal layman will look at ps3's games and compare it with 360's and say they look identical.
then they compare the pricing of the machines.
360 looks more appealing since it's cheaper.

that's why it's selling more than ps3.

of coz you get ppl who don't care about graphics and just look at the price, the Wii buyers.

if you don't have anything good to add to the thread, please stick to your ps3 forum.
coming in here and posting one liner makes you look like a retard. period.

woa, i'm feelin the love here already
.
"especially in the US where most ppl are not that IT savvy?" WTF? shocking.gif

but surely, you can't deny that being able to run 'backup' games does contribute towards better sales.
too bad they never post up statistics on the most downloaded/torrented/rapidshared games.
but once they break bluray's encrytions, then we'll talk. but for now i stand my ground.
and put out that flame will ya?
*
come let's talk.

http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/4...randed-obsolete

and as for statistics..

http://isohunt.com/stats.php?mode=zg

this statistics is updated daily.. but for today.. check out what's on number 10 (pc games), 23 (wii), 56 (ps2) and 93 (nintendo ds).
hmm.. i wonder where's xbox 360..
oppsss... there ya go, number 137 in the list of most search phrases.

thanks for the enlightenment guys. but the dvd-9 version still don't match up to those ori bluray ones.
but it still kills me to see, what if there's 'ahem' blurays games.
*
well what we are seeing now is the repeat of previous thing.
before this we have dvd rip sold to vcds.
now blu ray rip sold on dvds.

trust me, by the time dual layer rewritable blu ray media hits 40 ringgit, pirated PS3 games will be rampant.
at the current price of 90 ringgit it's not feasible yet to pirate the damn thing.

the technology is there. just the media is too expensive.

need to see can the ps3 be modded yet?
*
i don't think there's a need for modding.
look at youtube. tons of videos on how to bypass the security check on ps3.
