I do agree we need someone very stable just like vidic or Ferdinand.

I actually can see djourou or senderos have the potential to become a quality defender but they are too young still to totally control everything.
Perhaps too much nervy moment for them making them looks so vulnerable.

Besides that,we don't have a good DM anymore after Flamini left.I am more than happy to see signing of a DM rather than getting another forward.

Yaya toure will be the best choice but no matter how Barca don't look like selling him for a low price biggrin.gif

QUOTE(StarGhazzer @ Jan 14 2009, 03:37 PM)
I quote myself:
Everton are 3 points behind, no doubt it's close; but we're also 3 and 4 points behind Villa and Chelsea which is also not too distant away. The top spot seems less likely for us with Liverpool far ahead and MU's games-in-hand, but 3rd spot is up for grabs and there's no reason for us to give up the fight.

You look downwards on the table, we look upwards... Your cup is half empty, ours is half full. Your faith is near zero, ours is full to the brim.
Meh.

More Arshavin stuff from GilbertoSilver:

http://gunnerblog.com/?p=1360

I don't give a crap about Citeh's crazy bid for Kaka... that's absolutely dumbass money to spend on one player. One could build an entire SQUAD with that amount.

全都是金钱在作怪!!
*
i love it! biggrin.gif can i steal it for my new sig? hehe.. anyway, TBH, i got a surprise when i looked at the table yesterday and saw everton just 3 points behind us. however, villa are just 3 points above us, so yea..

ps: jay simpson scored for west brom in their FA cup win biggrin.gif din take long for him to settle down..hehe, i am glad for him

QUOTE(Casanova88 @ Jan 14 2009, 03:57 PM)
If the team don't look down to their closest competitor, we will end up going down like now where we are standing at 5th place & also like wht happened end of last season.

Any way, wht is the difference between  Your cup is half empty & ours is half full ?
*
Our closest competitor is also Villa, so why not focus on catching them instead of constantly worry about Everton chasing us? What happened last season was a result of overwhelming injuries, the lack of adequate squad players, inability to recover from mediocre form (due to the previous 2 factors), and absolute shit luck with referees and important decisions.

If you think we're in deep shit, think back 05/06 where we needed the help of lasagne to ensure CL qualification. It ain't pretty, but we still made it. Again, have faith... oops I'm sorry that's something you never really had in the first place.

Someone else has already explained the quote, so I won't repeat it.

StarGhazzer don't be too mean, it's a blessing to an office guy like me to have tea time sad.gif
Seriously, do we need an attacking player or a defensive player? Which one gets the highest priority?
*
Me mean? tongue.gif Where got woh? rclxm9.gif

Our defensive side of the game does need a lot of repairs, but I can see why le Boss is focused on getting Arshavin. Look at our long term injury list - Fabs, Tommy, Dudu, Theo. The former 2 are our midfield engines, which without it we lack ammunition for our strikers; the latter duo are our gunbarrels where without it we lack penetration and attacking prowess. Arshavin, theoretically of course, would give us the edge in both creating and scoring.

Going back to the defence, I'm sure the team would welcome any good players be it CB or DM or even fullbacks. Any team would do so! But our main problem remains with the organisation, concentration, and ability to defend as a unit rather than individual shortcomings. JD has been impressive in his cameos and I fully expect him to retain the starting position till the end of the season if nothing bad happens to his legs. The other slot would be fought between Willy and Kolo, and currently Kolo seems to be emerging as the winner with the armband in his grasp too. Silvy would remain as a squad player, the very same reason why he was bought in the first place.

Still, I'd love to see Sendy return as a squad player ahead of Silvy tongue.gif

Really hope that Arshavin would come and help us in our attack. Currently we don have anyone creative enough to initiate our attack. We are always camping in front of the opponent's goal post and cant find a way to penetrate their defense.
Would love to see Arshavin, a good DM and a new CB in our 09 squad!!!

Song still needs more time to improve.

Anyway, Kaka rejects city bid... man.... what a guy to spit away money and claims loyalty to his AC Milan. Must be a big ego blow to City... especially the fans. ehehehe

Kaka is such a loyal person to his club.I believe any player from arsenal will not do such action with the offering of such money lol.

Even myself will be lure by 250,000 per week.

Song is still young and needs more game exposure. He can't see things in a clearer view like how Flamini did.He did not give the extra protection where the defense needed.

ahem, wat citeh offers to kaka nothing beside an extraordinary pay, try to look at the citeh who playing with a bunch of 2nd class team mates (not robinho) and struggling to survive @ league will just will only deteriorate his own self, consequences he will drop out from national squad and there goes his dream to conquer the world

if the same offer offers from chelsea, i guess he will stop attending training to protest....

Meanwhile there are reports that Quincy is undergoing a trial at Spurs after our derby neighbour's bid for Palacios has been rejected. Quincy oh Quincy, so much pace, so much trickery, so much potential... but not much sparkle after you left eh? le Boss did the right thing to let him go, and if his move to Spurs gives us additional money then by all means go ahead Harry. But no quotes whatsoever, so let's wait and see.

Is that a bad thing? tongue.gif

Seriously though... Song does the defensive bits well... But he can't even pass to his teammate 10 yards away!! Gilberto wasn't the best of passers, but he seldom give the ball away. Our friend Song does this very frequently...

The money being thrown by Man City is just plain obscene. 100 Mil pounds could have saved how many poor man and save how many kids from starvation, not to mention the genocide that the Palestinians is facing. What made it even more worst is the rich Arabs, so called brothers of Palestinians, is financing this deal and there's so much more they can do to help the war torn country instead of throwing 100 Mil on a player. To me, Kaka is probably only worth 35 Mil.

But lets concentrate on Arsenal instead. Are we or are we not buying? Seems nothing is concrete at this point, no news of signings and Arshavin's signing seems like a distant memory by now. Anyways, good thing is, Nasri is suddently found to be a good at playing the central role or the Cesc role. He helped open up the game at Bolton when we looked to be struggling with the bus parking tactic by Bolton. So we may not buy a creative midfield afterall.

Man City is a mediocre club with big ambitions & big money. They think big money can buy success instantly, maybe like Chelsea. Look at Real Madrid, even after acquiring so many big stars they were still struggling, no titles, no nothing, only after getting rid of most of the stars did they manage to win the League. Despite all their spending, look at where City is now. Kaka was very smart to reject the offer.
