arsenal right now cant get the score from the midfield player... like pires, ljungberg and wiltord used to do... so i guess AW really looking for a midfield player who can score... arsenal got nasri on the left... maybe AW want to add more...

Manchester City to hijack Arsenal deal for Andrei Arshavin
QUOTE Manchester City are closing in on Andrei Arshavin after agreeing an £18million deal with Zenit St Petersburg. The 27-year-old striker flew into London last week amid speculation he was poised to join Arsenal. But City have stormed into pole position and Arshavin isoncourse to boost manager Mark Hughes's strike options at the struggling club. Dennis Lachter, Arshavin's agent, has claimed a move to the Emirates was unlikely because of Zenit's massive financial demands. Arsenal's valuation of the player was closer to £15m - and there was also an issue about the wages that Arshavin wants to seal a move to England. He sees himself in the £85,000-a-week bracket and at Arsenal only Cesc Fabregas earns anything like that. Manager Arsene Wenger refuses to undermine the salary structure within the squad and that has opened the way for City's move. City officials, backed by the wealth of owner Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, met Arshavin and have agreed to meet his club's demands of full payment up front to clinch the deal. Arshavin had been linked with a host of club's following his impressive form for Russian during Euro 2008. But the vast majority of them baulked at the asking price that initially stood at £24m. Arshavin's agent claimed the player's departure was inevitable once the transfer window opened for business in January. "That is what is going to happen," he said. "There are 10, 15, 20 teams who are interested in him. The question is, can they afford him?" City can and, following the arrival of Wayne Bridge for £13.5 million from Chelsea last week, Arshavin looks likely to follow him into Eastlands this week. Source |

But anyway, I have faith that we going to catch up with Villa, if not, and I mean with a big IF, then guess UCL this season would be a must winner. |

QUOTE(little_mozart @ Jan 11 2009, 06:07 PM) read the star today, podolski want to go to cologne fpr only 10mil euros. Wenger can hijack this :-) the reason why podolski wants to go to cologne for such a cheap price is because cologne is his hometown club (he was bought for 10 mil euros anyway). he was playing for cologne before bayern came knocking on his door... wenger can hijack this deal if he can convince podolski that the emirates is walking distance to cologne... heheh.... |

Why Podolski? He is leaving to get games and he certainly won't get any here, he would be behind van Persie, Eduardo and Adebayor. As for playing on the wing, well I don't fancy him there as he is best in a central position.

QUOTE(Nostalgia @ Jan 11 2009, 07:07 PM) Arsenal should start spreading transfer rumours so that City will waste their funds trying to hijack everyone while we sign the next 16 year old Mongolian prodigy. On serious note, I guessed there's a need for silence in AW part as everytime we want to sign somebody, they'll be some club that wanna try to hijack or raise the price of our transfer targets. |

after watching last nite game, see some improvement in 2nd half...
wit nasri playing in the middle, more like cesc playing and putting vela on the left flank... well, we shall see in the nex game how AW prepare his team... Arshavin??? well good if we sign him but if all Arsenal player fit 100%, (walcott, rosicky, nasri, eboue) they will be player droping into the bench... ya, really miss ljungberg and pires in the flank... |

Tottenham lost to Wigan to a stoppage time goal and i found it really funny.
Not just losing points but losing several players due to injury. Now time for the big match! |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Yup, they are working without a natural DM, but they still play well, guess the reason is because their attacking players are more direct, and can really penetrate defenses. Guess the old saying of the greatest defense is attack is true. But guess a strong back four also needed |

Yes, no doubt MU's attack is used to be more direct compared to us.
The game has been good to watch as an outsider Added on January 12, 2009, 12:40 am... and besides, Gary Neville seldom join the attack This post has been edited by kimhoong: Jan 12 2009, 12:40 AM |
