I'm not sure whether you're referring to Java programming or the Java runtime plugins for browsers as I'm confused with "other programming". Anyways.. I assume you meant plugins, then yes it will run, as well as flash, active x and others as this netbooks runs on Windows XP.

But for programming, I don't think suitable to use this netbook as it is meant for light work and browsing. You don't want to encounter a forced application halt message when you've already typed hundreds of programming script lines don't cha?

yes, i mean java runtime plug in and stuff like that..and i also doing java & c++ programming..well, i just wonder how it will works on this mini..or anyone have any recommendation on other netbooks for doing programming?thanks

as far as I know programming doesn't eat up much cpu cycles. You can go right ahead and do your programming on such a device. Keyboard's pretty big so it's comfortable to type.

i really hope when it arrives here in malaysia, whenever that is, there'll be a 6 cell battery version on the get go, instead of having to wait around a month or two. that'll be frustrating... sad.gif

Checked with my fellow programmer friend.. yes you can use to write programming scripts, provided they have been break-up into segments and you're not doing compilation (CPU intensive) for the scripts. But in general, if you are doing programming you should know the load required to do your work. For instance, are you running the script on client or server?

p/s: Still no news on it's availability.. very tempted to get it from SG, Jetstar ticket is only RM150 roundtrip. icon_idea.gif

Yes, it's the same size.. you may refer to this site for photo comparison http://www.hp2133guide.com/hp-2140-and-2133-comparison-pics/

There another better site comparing these 2 with detailed description, but I could manage to recall what site it was.

Still no news on its availability.. Singapore PC Show will be held from 12-15 March.. Been there for the past 2 years and saw many new gadgets and good deals. If still no news by then, I'm going to get it there.
