Very nice man. I need to find trouser fabric like that. I think your gingham is the right scale. Where did you get those buttons? Where are you using those buttons on?
Added on June 21, 2010, 11:46 pmMy Hilfiger trousers are navy blue, they're not royal blue like that.

Oh, local haberdasher of course. They're fake horn. I'm putting them on my 'linen' pants. The navy button is for my navy suit. I need an extra link closure.
Yes. Royal blue looks better than navy for odd trousers.

Royal blue looks better than navy for odd trousers. What do you mean by "link closure"? The inner breast pocket button? I wanted to buy some corozo buttons for my pants, but they were thick so I passed. Besides, on my pants no buttons are visible on the outside. I think I need to revisit this possibility. Added on June 22, 2010, 12:11 pmI would wear that gingham shirt with those trousers with suspenders. You'd look like Tom Sawyer. This post has been edited by kotmj: Jun 22 2010, 12:11 PM

Hell no, Ah Kot. On a 2 button suit, the link button is sewn just at the back of the top button. It is meant to close the front panels of your jacket after gulping down a heavy meal or when wearing a thick sweater underneath or whenever you need some extra comfort. Usually found on dinner jackets.

Don't despair, I have the perfect plan. Use the fabric to make fraternity pocket squares. One for me, one for yourself, or maybe one for KotKot. We shall wear it every Saturday morning.

Zuperpent from Japan. 50% Cotton/30% poly/20% linen mix. Found it at kedai bundle. It is new and unworn, but dusty due to storage at the shop. Look at the unhemmed legs. In one of the back pockets is a little plastic bag with a strip of selvedge in it. It is meant to be used as hem reinforcement. It has a deep pleated waistband skirting. It is fully lined (both front and back) with a lavender-coloured lining. The zuperpent even with lining is very light. I can roll it up into a tiny bundle. It weighs almost nothing.

I think I have pushed R over the limits. He agreed to make me full canvassing. However he will need to source the materials first. It will not be done by him, instead a Shifu living up north will take over. He told me the last time he did it was 40 years ago. Till his fingers bled.

Yes. And The Emperor's Great Red Gingham Shirt.
Added on June 25, 2010, 4:42 pmHome based MBT has very strange powers. If you compare POW pants and the RoyalBlueTwill side by side, it is obvious that they are made by 2 different tailors. But they're not.

Maybe tomorrow.
I will never forget the feeling of putting on a double breasted waistcoat. It is so elegant I feel like smoking a pipe. Even Rubinacci said so.
