Obviously they are going to take body measurements, no?  doh.gif

So.... you mean you are under the impression that just because a tailor take yoru body measurement, it will fit well? doh.gif

i've just got my pants customized from 1utama sparkmanshop, seems fitting upfront, etc...standing/ wlaking no problem

but when brought home, sitting, the middle seam seems like pushing into my ass like a gstring..... and also front my crotch seems to be push to one side as well...is this normal how customize pants should be???
*
Strange... I see your tag is "Female" how come you have problem crotch being pushed to 1 side? Anyway, no its not normal.

any1 know normally how much tailor will charge if i want to get a long formal pant?
*
That would depend a lot on the material i suppose, but workmanship is anything form RM200~500, althougth should average around RM250~300

Gentlemen,

Let's not spoil the market.

Please tell us what is supposed to be a competitive price for a canvassed suit using tailor's materials. This way nobody will pay ridiculous amount of money and us customers have better idea on how much grams of gold to pay.
*
I think its impossible to answer the question using your parameters.

Anyway, tailor will charge RM900~1300 for a 2 piece. Canvassing usually cost RM500 more. Ofcourse it varies by tailor. This is only for workmanship. The material can cost anything from RM200 to RM10,000. So..... when u say using tailor's material, you have to be more specific.

ps : Look thru the Suiting thread for tips on material and how u can save some cost, I'm abit too lazy to repeat it again here.

Hey guys, do u think its possible to convert a boot cut jeans to a straight cut?
*
It can be done. But jeans is infamously hard to work with. Get the wrong tailor and it will not come out right and u will never wear it again.

Material? I'm sure tailors are receptive to you bringing your own materials.

apart from biwanis, is there anywhere else we can get our own cloth?
i've found a right tailor to help me with my shirt.. he even asked me to look for the cloth that i like..
i've tried several stores but to no avail...
i used to tailor made my clothes in thai, and all i have to do was to choose from the vast cloth around the shop.. but now in Malaysia, i dunno where to begin =( ...
can anyone help me.. thanks....

A number of us go online to purchase materials for our shirts/suits. Price of fabrics in malaysia verge on the insane side, huge savings can be found online.

Any decent online source for it? I am looking to start tailoring my shirts as well, but am not sure where to begin looking for clothes online since I do not have a good reference in terms of pricing. Also, how much cloth would we need to make a shirt? I have been told anywhere from 1M to 2M :/
*
1M doesnt work unless you're a dwarf. Anyway it depends on the fabric width. Go tru this thread, all the answers to your questions are there.

planning to get a casual blazer tailor made. anyone can help me recommend some good tailors around KL and can give me a rough price estimation?

this will be my first blazer and if it fits well i would like to proceed with making a suit as well.

my height is around 170cm with a slight athletic build. For work shirts im comfortable in those slim fit cut shirts and was wondering if i can apply the same style to blazers and what kind of 'specification' should i ask for?

Thanks in advance! smile.gif

any idea on the price range like? so i don't get chopped on the spot.
Or they go by scale/section?

Added on February 2, 2012, 12:57 pmJust enquired at za altera 1u. It's 45 per shirt (double stitch)
Is it reasonable?
*
What do they actually do to slim it down?

Just 2 darts at the back? Or they actually remove the sides and restich it etc?

Depends on the cost of the original shirt, you can get a new slimfitted shirt for RM50 anyway.....

Or spend RM200~ and get a tailor made shirt....

btw, where to get slimfit shirt for RM50? don't tel me brands outlet doh.gif
im guessing should be unbranded 1 right ?
*
Why RM50 would be unbranded? A normal brand such as Renoma, Durban etc cost around RM100~150, wait for 70% discount and you got yourself a deal.
