Can anyone recommend me a good tailor in Klang Valley please?

I've tried Bespoked & my suit cost me RM2.2k. Decent pricing, with pretty good fit. Definitely liked the way it looked on me. Price seems a bit pricey & am looking for alternatives out there.

Anyone can point me in the right direction? Any chance for a wool suit between RM1.5-2k? Else I may have to turn to Bespoked for my suit. Any help is much appreciated.

Mind posting some shots of yourself in the said suit for us to "oooh" and "ahhh" over it?

ps : Oh and dont forget some customary crotch shots for kakmj

Shopping with the wife yesterday and walked into Granoff at Gardens, was quoted RM900 for a cotton shirt, RM1200 for linen. RTW is RM450 cotton... is this their "normal" pricing.. or do I look especially rich (or the Chinese would put it "waterfish")?!

On another note, I noticed superfine (120s) alumo cotton wrinkle so badly (unlike some, i dont like my shirts wrinkled) i'm leaning towards linen... is this common or its my fault again..?

Somehow cant see the pic you posted.

On another note, anyone have strong opinion about NON-pleated pants? While i feel it looks 'cleaner' when standing up, its severely constricting when sitting down, and I spend most of the day doign that.... any tips and tricks around making a nice fitting pants without pleats while not putting my manhood in a vise?

You shouldn't be feeling anything close to constricting when wearing pleated pants.

I kinda expect such line of answers hahaha...

But becareful, you might be accused by some mods of trolling and "counter trolling" (whatever that means). sweat.gif

@Dell2011, if you actually read thru the thread, you can have a fairly good idea on how logn it takes to make a suit at the various tailors in town. A little homework helps.

well the zegnas arrived. i wanted to order 4 pieces, but one was out of stock. so i paid for 3. but one of the three i received was very long. i measured it, it was 3.6 meters, enough for 2 shirts.
GOing back on posting i missed, I just noticed this.

3.6M enough for 2 shirts? I was under the impression you need about 3m (x90cm) for a single longsleeve shirt?

Thanks, bloke1!
How do you ensure your shirts don't crumple and look crisp?
Mind telling me the fabric type?

Hope you gentlemen can comment on my hand wash technique:

Huh? Are you kidding? Just toss them in the washing machine. If you have to hand wash every single tailor made cotton shirt.. you will be kinda busy? Its cotton for goodness sake..

Whoa, harry hill collars. Contrast stitch buttons?
*
Yeah.. trying for the retro look... actually its not that big.. maybe its the the camera angle..

QUOTE(kotmj @ Mar 10 2011, 10:07 AM)
The MOP is very thick, the hand tacking very nice. I would have dispensed with the pocket, and kept the shirt 100% classic: no contrast buttonholes, no contrast inner cuffs and collars. The fit looks good, what about the fit don't you like?
*
the handtacking is upon request (no extra charge), the contrasting buttonholes makes it a little less formal, my office dress code is pretty relaxed.
Didnt take enough photo of the shirt, the bulge at the base of the neck/shoulder.... need to find a way to fix that, the 2 darts at the back of the shirt could be a little more clean, there seems to be pulling at funny places side/front? DOnt really know how to put it into words..

Where'd you get the slim-fit chinos?

Split yoke?
*
The Executive, they have a bunch of slimfit stuff at pretty low prices. Time will tell if they are durable or another Padini...

Nope. Trying that currently with different shoulder measurements for each shoulder to see if they will accomodate my posture and get rid of lower neck bunching.

Yup, Bespoked quoted me that price for a shirt. I slowly backed out the door and and spent that money on 2 GAP shirts.
*
Um.. i have 2 shirts on the way at bespoked. Its better then Granoff's cotton starting at RM900 smile.gif

Also u might wanna try De-catano (ONLY the HQ pls), their workmanship is RM100

Where is De-catano? How much do they charge if I use their fabric?
Have you made any suits at Bespoked? What's yr experience?
*
de-catano hq is in hartamas. THey have a branch in Summit.... i dont recommend it.
Price, when their website was still up, is aroudn RM250. But their workmanship is RM100. They also always have some kinda pormotion going on.

Bespoked, havent really impressed me yet. But I have a friend who asked them to alter his shirt for the 3rd time at no extra cost due to fit issue. They havent thrown him out of the store yet.

thanks for the feedback.. no reply for my tered in GC...  sad.gif

since everyone here has experience with Alteration...

may i know how much sg wang charge for : shorten dress length (should be easy, just cut and sew back)

and, tigthen the waist - i know this will definitely cost more cos more complicated

and, so many shops in sg wang , got prices different? and quality?
*
I think most alteration here is done by our own preferred tailors or if in doubt, Za Altera. Havent seen anyone discussing Sg Wang tailors.

hey guys, I want to make a suit right now.
would like to know how much would it cost around subang area.
I'm planning to get a silver(glossy) grey suit.
Kuantan can tailor it for RM350. Wondering subang area cost how much.
*
Try read up on the suiting thread instead. As for RM350, i think that woudl hardly cover the cost of the material...

I don't need to clarify.
I've done my trousers already.
now saving my money for the suit as well.
sometimes is depending where u got it from.
is way cheaper if u get it from China.
*
Well, then you got an awesome deal. Post up some pics at the suiting thread or this thread to awe us ! thumbup.gif

I have relatives and friends who goes to Bangkok to get tailor-made clothes... other than on holidays. Indeed they are really cheap compared to the ones over here. But what amazed me the most is the speed of delivery. Bare in mind that they are there for holidays and they are able to collect their orders within few days just in time to travel back home.
*
Actually instead of good/fast/cheap... maybe you should be concern about fit/quality? Otherwise what is the use of a tailored shirt if the fit is goign to end up like what you buy from padini?
