shoulders = RM50
sleeve = RM60
Good Price! I asked an alteration shop inside Endah Parade in Sri Petaling and they quote me RM80 for shoulders only!
*
do take note that the quoted price is for jackets and not t-shirts/dress shirts.. t-shirts and dress shirts would cost less.. just thought i'd state this in the case that there are any confusion..

you are able to alter a blazer, but there's a limit (similar with any other clothing).. if it is way bigger than your size then probably nothing can be done.. post up a picture of you wearing the blazer in the Suit thread and we will take a look..

From what i know, if the size is much too big on shoulder and collar, it does not make sense in value to get it altered. Many tailors would not do it because it involves too much work. The usual ones that most tailors would work on are sleeves and waist.

Fusion, well i didn't remember the shops name. But there are 2 ladies in there on a small hidden section in the Endah Parade. There are 2 more alteration shops in Times Square and 2 more in Sg Wang. these are just alteration shops and not tailoring. Maybe would enquire this weekend.

guys wanna ask something... if a tshirt is too long, and you decided to go alter the length, will it really look funny?
*
length of the body? well it depends on the shirt, if it is too wide and you alter it too short then it would appear fat and wide.. well i cant exactly answer your question as no details are given.. it is like me simply asking "if i buy a size S shirt, will it look weird on me?"..

T-shirts are kind of hard to describe. Too long, it would mean u are trying on a rapper look. Too short, maybe looks like a girls tank top. I don't think there is a correct t-shirt. It depends on the manufacturer that designs the style. I like T-shirts with full sized short sleeves.

Nowdays they shorten the length to almost half off it. And it is angled very short on the bottom of the armpit. The cutting is not as generous or as traditional as last time. I can say you loose at least 2 inches on every part of the T-shirt every when you compare a year 2005 T-shirt and a 2008 one. An XL is not an XL anymore. shakehead.gif

Anyway if you want to shorten a T-shirt, i suggest you take an old one that you like and match the length. icon_rolleyes.gif

hi all,

I didn't notice a thread about tailors, so i created one, and lets all share our experience/information about tailors which we have tried/encountered. Do include the name of the tailor, pricing, workmanship, design and quality.

Cryptic's thread has been merged with "Do you alter your clothes" thread.. share your tailor here and i will update the first post..

Hi Guys,

I would like to suggest this tailors;

Binwani's @ The Curve, I have been tailoring from them for quite sometime and I would say they are the best so far I ever had I have tried Lords, Fox, tux and blazers etc etc. Binwani's are quite pricey but their customer service and tailoring makes up for the price. they really listen and give sugesstion before making you anything. I would say if you like bespoke tailorng try them.
Pricing from RM 400 for pants and Suits RM 2000 onwards, shirts from RM 200 onwards.

I know places like Euro Moda, Gulatis and Binwanis have at least a certified tailor inside. I was pulling a prank on one of them last time just to know that they are the tailor and not the saleman. hahaha.

I would not recommend Gulatis or Euro Moda, They screw up my wedding suit!! and there is only one certified tailor I think its a chinese guy but he would not do proper fitting.

I would definately recommend them for custom tailoring and alterations as well, they altered some of my Shirts that I tailored in Bangkok and they did a good job on it and definately recommend them if you are seeking quality
