Hi i wanna ask about tailoring, assume I get a suit tailored now (quite tight as date is in the next 3 months) then lose some of my belly can the suit be altered later on to fit better or would i be better served getting a new suit after I lose some weight?
Not talking much just 5-8kg difference |

It can be altered, but if you are intending and is able to lose that 5-8kg, you are better off doing it later.

QUOTE(teongpeng @ Jul 8 2016, 07:53 PM) Only certain parts. If you are buying shirts of the rack for altering, try to get your shoulders and cuff lengths perfect, the others are easier to alter compared to this both. |

QUOTE(teongpeng @ Jul 8 2016, 07:53 PM) I would say get a shirt that fits you in the shoulder and neck. Sleeves can be shortened quite easily. Making the sleeve and body smaller is harder but doable.Don't expect any tailor to be able/want to make complicated alterations like correcting the shoulder slope. |

Im a skinny guy and the problems for me with off the shelf shirts are that they tend to hang to loosely at the bottom and the collars are a bit large for my skinny neck.Don't expect any tailor to be able/want to make complicated alterations like correcting the shoulder slope. |

I'm not a tailor but I don't think there's a good way to make a collar smaller as you need more material at the yoke and front panels. You could move the button by about 5mm without making things off-center. If you need more than that you need to look at bespoke shirts. |

QUOTE(azi @ May 1 2016, 12:35 AM) Recently commissioned a suit in our neighbour Jkt, as i often travel there for work. Surprisingly having looked around quite a few tailors there still offers full canvassed suits. So I went for a fully canvassed 3 piece suit - just had first fitting last week. I will keep those interested posted once the suit is done. Hey, any update on this? I'd be curious to know how it turned out and what the price point was as half or fully canvassed suits are a rarity normally.Oh and price? It is almost half of what you pay in KL (i brought my own cloth); for both full and half canvassed suits.. Cheers. |

QUOTE(fuzzy @ Jul 18 2016, 02:48 PM) Most tailored suits use a floating canvas throughout the front panel, which is very different from a half canvas |

The last chat I had with JT, I think his H&S was around 6k, my starter kit back then was around 1.6k .. |
