Where do you guys purchase the shirt/pants material for the tailor to make it?

Last check it was at RM2.1k for CMT without pants.

Better head over there fast. He is very busy. I just collected my shirts after 4 months. It's worth the wait though.

TLDR Heads up :

So I went to Lords to get a suit done. Have heard of them and being reputable, I thought it would be a good choice.
Went in, and spoke to one of their staff. Explained what I needed in detail, showed photos etc and he said okay to everything and said these are normal requirements and took down all my inputs.

He then proceeded to take my measurement but it looked like he was being quite liberal eg my normal waist is 29/30 and he took down as 32. Likewise for collar, chest etc. I asked him to redo and told him it was too big but he insisted this is how they measure and it will turn out well. I told myself, they are the experts and just went along.

A week later, I went for fitting and the suit was just too big and not in the style that I wanted. Mr Loh (the owner) did my fitting and he agreed that it was abit too big and offered to make it slimmer. He also retook my measurement and acknowledged that the earlier measurement was inaccurate. As for the style, it looked abit "uncle" and I asked if he can alter to what I wanted and showed him some photos.

I went back and messaged the initial guy that I met when I placed my order. I told him I was not happy and told him that I wanted the suit to be as what I requested. Within a few minutes, I got a call from Lords and it was a female staff. She did not introduce herself or where she was calling from and just said "you're not happy with your suit and you sent a message". She said if want to fix I need to come for fitting again after a week. I said fine but will that delay the final delivery date as I needed it for a function and she said of course there will be a delay. I said that's not very fair and she said "you're not happy and want us to fix means then there will be a delay" At this point I was starting to get unhappy and told her this is not fair. She just didn't say anything and passed the phone to someone else whom I presume was Kenny (Mr Loh's son). He did not sound very pleased as well but he offered to fix it and asked me to come for fitting in a few days and that the final delivery will be delayed by two days which to me was fine.

I went in again for the fitting and the suit was still abit big and Mr Loh said will alter again. This time, I felt the colour of the suit and the pants did not match but Mr Loh said it was just the lighting and that the colour was fine.

Two days later, when I went to take my suit it was still the same. I tried it on and just gave up. I changed and just told the staff that it's fine and I will just take it as it is. As I was leaving the dressing room, Kenny appeared and he asked me if it was okay. I said nevermind, I will just take it. He asked me a few times and said he can help to alter if I'm not pleased. I said my function is in two days and it's not point because don't think he can fix it within two days. He told me he can and asked me to try it on and show him. When I tried on, I told him the suit was too big, the pants was too baggy at the bottom but too tight at the waist, sleeve too long and the colours did not match. He agreed on all these points and apologised. He said he will fix it all within two days.
At the end he said, he can't let me walk out with a Lord's suit like this which showed he cares for the brand.

Finally, after two days it all got fixed and I got my suit. The sizing was sorted and fits well, but the style was still not what I had wanted.
Total damage - RM3200.

Personally, don't think I will go back to Lord's. Not just the final product but the service provided was quite disappointing as well. Maybe because I am a first timer there or don't have a rich look
In the store, no one greets or smiles. When they call, it's always without introduction as well and just straight to the point. I had to ask who is this each time.
Oh well, will research more next time I get a suit done.

I can understand how you feel.

I hate to say this (as it will mean a longer lead time for him to complete my suit) but next time perhaps give ALT a try?

So is Ruth's alteration in KLCC still reliable to alter off the shelf shirts, polo-t etc? Looking for one that near my place at Ukay Perdana

hi guys. I need some suggestion and advice.

I wear suits regularly (3 days a week) and most of my suits are OTR and I guess after 5 years donning the same ill-fitted suits, it is time to change the game.

Now, I think I've read enough about the capability of Malaysian tailors when it comes to suit tailoring. I don't mean to sound degrading but from what I gather through reading extensively from this board and SF, the pool is quite pathetic. The only acceptable tailor that fits my need and budget is Ah Loke, even that micro-managing is needed.

Granted, no first tailored suit is perfect and I understand that, but as someone who is not well-verse with the technicality of suitmaking, I don't want to invest in a custom made suit with my hard-earned money only to be disappointed with the outcome.

Now I have two option, either I stick with the traditional brick & mortar tailoring, settled with the house-cut and pray that it will turn out to be okay or go for one of the abundant online MTM service like Indochino and Black Lapel...

Any good advice and suggestion are appreciated

I'm no expert as I still use my graduation suit when the need arises(once a year? maybe every 2 years?).

But if I was in the market for a bespoke suit, Jeremy Tok(aka kotmj) would be my first choice.

Any idea how much he will charge for fused construction? Lead time to do it?

My brother had his tailored last November for his wedding, fused, horn buttons by ALT, own fabric and lining. One suit with two pants. RM1,700.

Just curious, how do you contact Mr. Jeremy Tok regarding bespoke suits?
