Can the sleeve length of RTW suit jacket that comes with non working surgeon cuff buttons be shorten? I found that Marks & Spencer suit has my size but the sleeves are a bit too long

if yes, which recommended tailor that can do a good altering job without damaging the suit?
*
Its way much easier to alter the length of cuffs without functional cuff buttons. About ruining the suit, i doubt any tailor could ruin it. But ask M&S if they do alteration first. Its probably free if they do.

But its not. Just the facade of the place did not make u think about it. Its pricey too. But they probably have what you want. Kotmj says they do not do modern suits cuts. You have to go there to know if their style works for you.

I doubt they alter the sleeve length. Anyway non-working cuff sleeve length is easy, no rocket science there.

During the canvasing time. laugh.gif laugh.gif Like hard to find shops that do canvasing instead of fusing.

I don't see it is a tough task.

You may approach with any tailor shop and inform your requirement

went amcorp mall today to look for a reasonable suit for my wedding (which i can still use for other occassions in future)

went top floor where there is a all year long european garment warehouse, they have range from 299-1500 per set (branded and non-branded), the branded stuffs which comes with price tag above 899 per set have quite some nice designs but way over my budget and the sizes there are limited

so went on scouting on 1st floor tailors, went to Peter's tailor and Top Cut tailor at 1st floor, was quoted 8xx per set for normal suit with normal material (since above my 500 budget, decided not to ask more)

continue scouting, then saw tis frantalay tailor also at 1st floor, quoted 488 per set, no additional charges despite my big size
chosed a black suit with 2 buttons (tailor said, men with belly better have 2 buttons type), material choose black color hard type cotton cloth....i prefer hard type as it looks better for pants

so for those who have limited budget, can go see see this shop and have him quote. Fastest time for delivery is 2 weeks, but since i'm not in very rush mode, tailor will take 1 month, 2 weeks when sample is ready, another 1 week to remeasure fitting, 4th week deliver

My tailor is actually like my doctor, when my clothes feel ill-fitting, I consult my tailor.. The fact is actually clothes off-the-rack are made to fit a mannequin, and every person's body is shaped differently..

I have altered practically every clothing article from t-shirts, polo-t's, short pants, jeans, khakis, dress shirts, and sportsjackets..
Share your tailor here and I will update this post..

Totally agreed. Especially when it comes to Suits. If it does not fit well, it can pretty fuq up your presentation day or job interviewing.
I have been to many tailors, bkt bintang, pertama complex and even sparksmanshop. Not entirely satisfied with them. Recently my boss
intro-ed me to a tailor who did my boss group of companies uniform. They are actually manufacturers in Cheras. I call them up unfortunately they only accept bulk orders, however
they can still do small orders or piece by piece. you just need book appointment with them. The boss (JIM) is really nice and easy to work with. Price is amazingly cheap and affordable
as they are the manufacturer. My boss told me they are doing suits uniforms for louis vuitton, tag heuer, coach stores. amazing.
I got my wool suit and pants for 1200 only while regular bkt bintang shops charge me double for the same thing.
Their company name is Gordon Suits. Sorry I dont have his number with me but u can checkout their website at http://gordonsuits.com/
good luck guys.

Hi Guys

I wanted to custom make some working shirts, any place to to recommed? Just worry what one need to know before going. As compare to ready made, when you see it, you like it or dislike is instant. Would they just ask you what kind of shirts you want?

Suggested tailor can be found in this thread, you may need to search them.

Tailor would ask u preference on material, colour, pattern of the clothes, body fit, button matching, collar and etc..

basically you are a designer on your own!

Wanted to get a sports jacket for company dinner and events.

Should I go for Zara which cost RM499 a piece which need alteration or should I get a tailored piece? And how much would a tailored piece cost?

Kindly advise smile.gif

There are plenty options out there.

At times, not so lucky to get the right one for first time

good luck
