mine so far only manage to hit 182km/h (record via garmin gps)

I got the call from the bank last two days and the loan is approved. Now the sales agent is preparing the agreement which will take some time according to him. So when only will i know when will i get my car? After sign the agreement? When do i need to pay the downpayment? And first month installment? The sales agent is not helpful at all

I am interested in getting the Persona too.
There is this CNY promotion when I asked today.
They discount RM1888 (ang pao) and another RM1000 for 2008 model.
So total can discount RM2888.
Thought it was quite a bargain....

But I read through the last few pages of this thread to check if the Persona has any serious problems....
From what I read, there is this meter not displaying the correct fuel level problem and also wind noise problem due to the side mirrors....
These are hardly what I call "serious" issues, but worth taking note.

Anyway, my real question now is...

"Are there any really big issues I should know about the Persona?"

the fuel system can be solve according to some of the persona club members.
proton cars come with 2 years, 40k warranty.
any issue happened during the period, can be fixed free.
and for my batch, i received another 3-5years warranty using my insurance...
only for campro engine and transmission.

my persona give me issue which is solvable...meaning not that Big problems u looking for.
engine run smoothly, gear box still working nicely, car riding steadily.
my car is 9 months old.

well..mine was the first batch...without iafm...besides the fuel meter problem...there is no problem as for the 1year++ ownership...besides normal service...like engine oil,auto fluid,air filter,brakepads,..i have change nothing nor the bulbs lamps...still works brightly....so can say its a not bad car...

if the car is already there, aspect about 1 week for the e-hakmilik and other jpj stuff to settle..
for me i pay the downpayment same day after signing the aggreement at bank (pay to the dealer). first month installment wait for the bank document to be sent to ur home.. do note that the payment schedule do varies from bank to bank.. some bank requires 1st installment upfront.. some don't

I wanna ask you guys, how long is your persona warranty?
mine is only 2years, my SA said i only get extend to 5yrs if i take the loan.
What does 3rd -5th yrs cover for the warranty? does it cover brake/absorber/spring/aircorn/cooling system? or its only cover Engine for 3rd until 5th years?

hi guys... im new here n Persona owner.... can i join on Persona owner list..??
anyway, my car 5 month old.... with IAFM (M)... Metal Grey... actually, this car more better that wira n iswara...

i read about few problem here.... and i have solution after research with my mechanic.... Not proton service mechanic.... (they almost useless)...

anyway, i write some solution on here.... the main point is, Persona don't have major problem... all little tiny minor problem where can fixed it....

1. heard wind sound when u take accelerate up after press down on gear N position...
SOLUTION= The sound came from air filter box when it suck the air.... same like change to turbo air filter....

2. Fuel meter problem where it didn't show up correctly...
SOLUTION= Need to chance the Fuel meter equipment at Fuel tank where the thing can measure the Fuel... its on under the back seat.... its, is PROTON WARRANTY... so, don't be sad... its free...

3. Weird sound(engine Noisy then Normal) when driving at 100km...
SOLUTION= It is Normal.... its coz, the engine start to pickup with high fuel consumption... its make the car more pickup or faster acceleration... its can go easily fast when u press the accelerate littlebit... so, it can easy when u wan to overtake other vehicle .....

4. Radio or CD Player Jammed....
SOLUTION= Its Chips problem at fuse box... u just take it out(the Radio Memory Chips) and put it back... it will ok now...

5. Alarm Problem when u lock the car.... after few second lock the car, the siren on and noise...
SOLUTION= The rubber at bottom of door side at body is the problem... it is door switch cover where can detect the door is lock or not... coz, the heat of sun the rubber lose the flexibility... so, u just ask proton service mechanic to put some liquid for make the rubber flexible...

6.weird sound at front tyre or bumper when drive at unstable road or path like Ramp....
SOLUTION= Coz, some bolt or nut are Loose... just ask the mechanic tie up correctly...

7. Weird Sound(tik..tik..tik..tik..) at under the passenger dashbord side...
SOLUTION= it is central lock sound... Normally its sound two times after u press the brake before lock the door... but, sometimes it sound more then 2 times.... don't be scared... it is normal... don't panic.... it is just control box sound...

8.Weird wind Sound from aircond...
SOLUTION= It is normal... the sound came when the aircond compressor suck the air from inside the car... if u put the setting of aircond to suck the air from outside, u cant hear it.... u can hear the same sound at WAJA...

9.White smooke from Aircond blower...
SOLUTION= Don't panic... its normal thing... coz, the air at outside is hotter then inside... so, it is physics...

10.The 2nd gear hard to in...
SOLUTION= Tell the mechanic about it when u go to 1st service at proton service.. he will put the gear treatment.... then it will be smooth...


THIS IS THE PROBLEM NORMALLY OWNER GET ON PERSONA.... AND I WRITE SOME SOLUTION FOR THAT THERE.... IF ANYONE HAVE OTHER PROBLEM... PLS ASK IT... I WILL ANSWER U SHORTLY.....

Yeap, engine + transmission only.

Proton advertisement is misleading, the warantty is given by Insurance company and not Proton itself.
