Hi Jonny4,are you still using Hada Labo,i have a combination skin, surface dry but oily inside with clogged pores,
any recommendation for daily product ?

Any recommendation Facial Center for men as well?

Thanks for advance !
*
I used it only for a few months. the cleansers i dun like coz they dun lather much. the lotion (toner) was alright. the moisturizer was too heavy for my oily skin. even for ur combo skin it will be too heavy.night time maybe can. im referring to their SHA line.

but the tamagohada cleanser is not bad as it helps in clearing the pores. u might wanna try that 4 ur clogged pores.

overall Hada Labo din do much 4 me. also no adverse effects. only the tamagohada cleanser seems to work for me.

facial center no idea la.

i been using Lab Series Oil Control Face Wash and Oil Control Solution and after few days i get a small breakouts. I have read from many article in the internet that Salicylic Acid can cause of the breakouts which is contain in the product i use. Should i just continue use ? The article also state that the breakout is normal for skin to in order to achieve a clear face and normally it will take 3 - 5 weeks to clear depends on the people. Sigh. Do i really need to continue use this product?
*
Probably just d normal skin turnover.

how is ur skin now ? breakouts subsided ?

i have used both products b4 n didn't see any effect. the oil control solution is too strong. made my oily skin red n dry.

do u use a moisturizer after oil control solution ? if u dont u really shud.

as an alternative u could use d Water Lotion instead of oil control solution. its much milder n has a hydrating effect.

sunscreen? what's the purpose?

to protect ur skin against d sun.

no use using products to lighten scars if u dun use sunscreen.

sunscreen is not sun block. to protect lightened skin because light skin is more susceptible to sun damage than darker skin.  smile.gif

FYI

sunscreen = chemicals that absorb UVB n UVA rays.

sunblock = physical ingredients that reflect n scatter UVA n UVB.

nowadays most sun protection products make use of both chemical n physical agents to protect d skin.

blackheads r hereditary. the products can only remove them temporarily. there is no such thing as permanent removal.

prevention is better than cure. b4 the clogs appear try using a clay mask or some BHA type product to clear the pores.

Hi guys biggrin.gif this is my first time here and my first time to ever start skin care. Although i do wash my face after bath but i guess that's not enought.
I'm 21 years old and wonder ... how do i start?

I read this post. Exfoliate , deep cleansing mask , pore minimizer. is it? is this the 3-way? I want to improve my face skin so help?
What should i do cause i have no idea even after reading this thread ==
*
Toning is optional. best just to cleanse in d daytime n use sunscreen. daytime can use moisturizer on dry areas.

nighttime u cleanse, treat n den moisturize. treast as in use meds/serums for whatever your skin prob is. if no prob den u can just moiturize afta cleansing.

i been skipping moisturizer in d daytime for more den a year coz my skin is oily enuf n also d hot humid weather. no side effects. skin is less shiny n i get less breakouts. my sunscreen works as a light moisturizer.

keep your skin care routine fast n simple. that's the key.

I'll try and google everything you said cause don't really understand.
How about exfoliate then? I'll do it once a week with these? I don't really get what's my skin problem is. It's not too dry nor is it too oily tongue.gif
*
u shud Google.

i dun have the time to define every term/product i mentioned earlier.

u prob have normal skin. frequency of exfoliation depends on the type of scrub u use. those grainy rough ones like St Ives Apricot scub shud be used twice a week. those finer one that also work as a cleanser can be used more frequent but not everyday.

aanyone here uses kiehls for men? is it worth the money? what do u recommend from their skin care range?
*
haven't tried but based on the ingredients/description i think their skincare is more suited for temperate climates and more mature skin type. means if u r in ur early 20s n living in a hot humid country u better not waste ur money.

So what brand is recommended for those in early 20s and living somewhere like malaysia use? Those that can get from watson and other department store?
*
try one of the Asian brands.

DHC for men is pretty good for our weather. D Sparkling Face Lotion is quite fun to use...but only if ur skin is normal to oily. expect to pay RM40-RM60 for DHC men products.

u could try Naruko also.

n b4 someone comes in n say that no diff btwn men n women products...DHC regular range is more for dry skin regardless of sex.

their cleansing oil is overrated, its basically olive oil with a dhc label on it.
just go to tesco and buy them rm10 olive oil and i can assure you that itll work just as good as DHC's.
*
well let me assure u that RM10 oilve oil fr Tesco will not work as good as DHC's.

dun simply say RM10 oilve oil is d same. DHC maybe overated i dunno... but it aint just olive oil. using olive oil as a cleansing oil just wont work too well.

cleansing oil contains emulsifiers that makes the oil emulsify when it comes into contact with water. this makes the cleaning oil easy to wash off. without emulsifiers the oil will be extremely hard to wash off.

if u ever used a proper cleansing oil u will know. once the oil touches water it will change into a milky liquid.

QUOTE(sil3ntlif3 @ Jul 31 2012, 12:58 AM)
How much it cost? for the stuff?
A cleanser , exofialting stuff and scrubs? in watson mayb.
Does a single brand carry all these?
*
u referring to DHC ?

u could start off with Gatsby or Biore men face washes. they r cheap...RM9.90 for a 125ml tube. available at any pharmacy.

Gatsby - either green or purple face wash.

Biore - not sure. only bought a tube b4.

both brands have those daily face scrub wash cleansers.

Here's a money saving tip guys.

If your cleansers come in a plastic tube...after u can't squeeze out anymore try cutting open the tube. most of the time there should be some cleanser remaining inside. A lot of us just chuck d cleanser once we cant squeeze anymore out. That's a waste.

I managed to get 2 weeks worth after cutting open my tube of cleanser. Don't cut straight through...leave a bit of tube intact. take plastic some cling wrap and wrap d tube to keep things clean. thats how i do it.

Some ppl instead of cutting open the tube add water instead. I think that's a waste those especially if u r using those foaming cleansers.

Normally can stand to a week application depends on the texture of the cleanser or cream.  thumbup.gif

hi guys, 1st time posting here.

My problem is my skin is too oily all over my face i mean REALLY OILY. And my pores are very visible. Although pimples dont come out too often(like 1 or 2 every 2 weeks), but oily skin is too stressful to handle.

I tried reading from the 1st page of this thread but as time progress, more and more newer products are being brought up and i cannot make up mind. Can any of u suggest to me a good skin care product to overcome my problem? Thx.

P/s : My fren's joke on me " lend me some oil from your face, i want to fry eggs" cry.gif
