I do get razor burn quiet often when i shave , i planning to get some pre-shave and after shave product . average 3 day i nid to shave once . PLan to get LAb series product , is the product ok ? Beside that any others product ?
*
try using shaving cream instead of foam. aloe vera gel does a good job too in calming the skin after shaving.

Lab Series shud be alright. just remember to get a product that suits ur skin type.

those r called ice pick scars i think. try using a vitamin c serum to stimulate the skin to renew faster. vitamin c serum r expensive...cheapest ones start fr around RM120 for 30ml. vitamin c is only effective in certain concentrations so remember to lookout for the % of vitamin c in the serum.
*

Where can I get that??
*
Pharmacies and cosmetic/skin care counters. i haven't bought or scouted around for any vitamin c serum for more den a year so i can't advice d. just google n read reviews. den check if those products r available locally.

Well for vitamin C serums, Nanowhite has them. I've tried them, not much effect. Recently I bought the HadaLabo whitening series which is quite popular among women, anyone fond of them?
*
when buying vit c serums always look for brands that indicate the percentage of d vitamin c concentration. vitamin c is only effective when it is of a certain percentage in a product. but too high also not good as it can irritate skin.

Hey Jonny, is it possible to use oil clear sheets/control films when the sunscreen is applied? or will it remove its properties
*
it's possible and i do this on a daily basis. im sure some of the sunscreen is removed but i think the amount removed is small n won't affect the protection level. as long as u do not go n blot every hour, 5-6 times a day. once sunscreen is applied give it at least 15 mins to absorb.

also a sunscreen that is waterproof n sebum resistant would be better and wont be removed so easily with blotters.

I see, thanks for your advice. Is it possible for your face to be oily even with the sunscreen on?
*
mainly depends on how oily ur skin is and the type of sunscreen used. most japanese milky type sunscreens do control oil to a certain degree...but i dun think there r sunscreens that totally stop the face fr getting oily. i dun think that is healthy. mostly sunscreens that boast about their oil control abilities contain a lot of silicone n powder. they will keep ur face matte but they r often very drying n extremely difficult to remove. that was my exp with Biore Perfect Face sunscreen. IMHO guys just can't really carry that matte look coz its just looks too fake n ppl will start suspecting that u apply some kind of makeup haha.

currently i use Shiseido Multi Defence UV Protector SPF50 and i really like it. decent oil control without looking too artificial n easily washed off with cleanser. water resistant also. downside is d price.

any suggestion/product to get rid of pimples/blackheads n oily skin sad.gif

cheapest would be benzoyl peroxide. Benzac AC 5 is good for pimples.

oily skin is genetic so u cant do much.

how about blackhead >< dafuqqq...  oily cant treat 1 meh ><
*
can get rid of blackheads with those stick on pore strips n clay mask.

u can get rid of oil with stuff like oil blotting sheets, oil control gels/lotions, mattifying sunscreens n makeup. but no way to cure oily skin permanently. usually once u reach around 30 skin will get less oily. but in hot humid Malaysia oily skin is normal la.

i use blotters n mattifying sunscreen to control my oily skin.

Multi Defense UV Protector SPF50 PA+++ - RM125, 30ml.

a brand new sunscreen called Perfect UV Protector SPF50 PA+++ just launched, RM135, 50ml. I have not tried this one n there r no reviews online either. it's for face n body so i reckon it's a lil heavier compared to Multi Defense UV Protector (for face). i'll prob get d Perfect UV Protector once my current sunscreen runs out.

Large stubborn pimples popping..how to get ride of it?..an Can I squeeze it?
*
best no to squeeze. but if u really want to make sure the pimple is already "ripe"...u know wit d white puss head already appeared. wrap fingers wit tissue/cotton n slowly n lightly press the pimple until d all d puss comes out...once blood appears stop immediately n apply some kind of anti bacterial product on it. i use tea tree oil. how ever there will still be some scarring.

another way is to get d 3M NExcare Acne Patch. stick it on the ripe pimple at night n next morning d "head" of d pimple is gone. only works on ripe pimple n success rate is around 90% haha. d product is inexpensive n can get at all pharmacies.

ic, is there difference between men's bb cream and ladies ones? seem really hard to find men's one.. and i searched some for ladies ones are less expensive than men's
*
men bb cream generally darker n dun cover as well as women's. also men wan usually will boast an oil control function. but as long as d shade suit u i think no prob using women's bb cream. stay away fr those type with glitter or pink tinge.

i have used Skin79 Homme bb b4 n it really sucked. shiny, sticky n no coverage.

i think a few months ago in this thread someone posted a lot of info bout men bb cream. try searching a few pages bak.

How effective is BB cream as a sunblock?  (Face Shop Homme SPF 20 PA++ )

I use only one or two pea sized dabs for my whole face, feels very light. Then must walk outside and bake in the noon day sun's heat for typically 10-15 minutes.

111
*
pretty low UVA n UVB protection. wont be sufficient for use in Malaysia. the amount u using is insufficient too. min is 1/4 teaspoon for face. perhaps a bb cream with higher SPF n PA rating would be better. but i will always use a SPF50+ PA+++ sunscreen even if d bb cream im using offers sun protection.

Quick question, what exactly are we supposed to use on our face?

Apart from a daily face wash? Must use scrub, moisturizer and toner all ah?

Is Lab Series good? Or Clinique better? Or any other recommended brands? Or Kiehls? Or smthng?
*
face wash - morning n night.

sunscreen - daytime.

moisturizer - at night.

those 3 r the daily essentials. other stuff like scrub, toner n etc r optional. there is no fast n fast rule on what products u must or must not use. all depends on your skin.

Lab Series - used their products on n off last time but never got hooked.

Clinique - Basic 3 step products r too harsh. but their higher end products r good.

thru exp i find both ^^ more for Caucasian skin or western hemisphere weather.

Kiehls - higher end stuff fr the Dermatologist Solutions line r good. cheaper stuff like Blue Herbal line sucks.

i tried lots of brands over d past 2-3 yrs. but one brand i always go back to n currently been using 4 d past year is Shiseido Men. Most of my facial products r fr Shiseido. not cheap but they do last n they work for me.

I'm new to department store brands pricing, mainly Clinique, Estee. Quite a shock.

Can anyone advise, best time of year for sales, how much discount to expect, online sellers reliable?

Also seems that USA prices are 1/3 to 1/2 less !!! Duty free at airport maybe RM20 less.

*
try strawberrynet.com. but not everything is cheaper...so u still got to compare with counter prices.

counters rarely have sales but during the festive seasons they do have value gift sets or gift with purchase.

look out for warehouse sales once or twice a year. i think there r a few websites that provide details for these skincare brands warehouse sales.

oh, thank u thank u!  notworthy.gif appreciate it!

so if I go to like the Shiseido counter in like Parkson and stuff, will they be able to recommend like for my type of skin what to buy, etc?
*
yeah they will be able to recommend u wat products to use. but just keep in mind that they r NOT dermatologists no matter how knowledgeable they seem. also they work on commission so they want your sales. so dun believe 100% wat they tell n recommend u. decide on your own.

P.S Clinique sales assistants wear a white lab coat as their uniform...making u think they r trained dermatologist. dun be fooled haha.

ya, im also have concerned abt the texture of the moisturiser, but the sale girl mention it ok, and wont cause any sticky on face.....
how much for the clinique moisturiser then??
*
u can skip using a moisturizer in d daytime. i used to do d whole 3 step thing night n day n moisturizer in d daytime just makes my face shiny n sticky. i have tried close to 20 diff types of moisturizer fr brands like Clinique, Shiseido, Clarins n etc. instead i use a toner with hydrating benefits n finish off with sunscreen. i use a moisturizer only at night.

so for malaysian weather a sunscreen would be more important than a moisturizer in d daytime. but this is if ur skin is oily maybe even combo oily. if ur skin is dry den do use a moisturizer. u try applying moisturizer only on dry patches instead of all over.

FYI the clinique DDMG comes in 2 sizes. 50ml is around RM80-90. 125ml RM145-150. i can't remeber d exact price as its been a few yrs since i bought a tube. Clinique Skin Supplies for Men M Gel Lotion (100ml)is d exact same thing as DDMG but comes in a diff looking tube.

I have oily skin n the SA told me d same thing about DDMG. for a bout 2 hrs it feels nice on skin but by d 3 hr mark it tends to make my face sticky prob due to humidity. most moisturizers end up like that for me. even those that claim to control oil n shine. dats y i stopped using moisturizer in d daytime.

How abt Dr Brandt?? ever tried it??
Clinique is a gd brand...maybe, but some of my friend claim tat it just so-so, or not really satisfied  for the result....haha...
so wat the best moisturiser u ever used???
I have not tried Dr Brandt b4.

I used the Clinique 3 Step for a year n didn't notice any improvements in my skin. The whole 3 step is pretty in terms "old fashiopned" of ingredients compared to other brands. but the higher end Clinique stuff contain good ingredients.

best moisturizer would be Clarins Men Anti Shine Gel. does help mask d shine well n moisturizes very nicely too. also helps with acne. unfortunately d local clarins distributor has stopped bringing in d Anti Shine Gel. but its still available overseas. but one thing i dislike about it is d fragrance. very strong n can last half a day. expensive too...RM 145 for 50ml.

if u looking for a product to mask shine n cover pores i recommend u try d Shiseido Men Anti Shine Refresher Gel. This one can mask pores n shine for a good 6 hrs in malaysian humidity n heat. i have not used anything as effective as this. unfortunately Shiseido has stopped producing this product but u stil can get it online. this is not a moisturizer tho n can be drying if used all over d face. RM135 for 30ml.

any idea abt origin or aesop?? actually im prefer some natural or even organic product...ahha...
currently im using Stems' milk cleanser and toner, dont noe if u heard it b4...ahha

*
read some reviews 1st... makeupalley would b d best source.

I have only tried d clay masks fr Origins n Aesop. Origins Out of Trouble mask is pretty good. doesn't harden up n dry out skin like regular clay masks but still manages to make pores look smaller temporarily.

Aesop clay mask was good too n would be my 1st choice but the price is insane. RM100+ i think for less than 50ml of product.

havent heard of d brand Stems.
