hi, jonny4...kinda surprise you still active in this thread until now...actually i am finding product that can control my super extreme oily face...then google result bring me to your previous reply on shisheido and clarin...i didn't manage to read all your previous post...i hope can get some advice on which brand or product you would recommended to solve my problem...
as my cleanser is out, i am looking for a new replacement...
*
try using a japanese sunscreen. those labeled as either makeup base, smooth n/or sebum resistant usually can help control oily skin. cheapest n most effective is the biore perfect face milk. but i find that one too drying.initially it was perfect. but after a few weeks it made face dry.

oil blotters r d most effective. i use Gatsby. but dun blot too many times a day. can also use tissues to absorb d oil.

as for cleanser u shud try Vaseline Men oil control cleanser. its cheap n effective. foams up really well too. i bought the trial 50ml tube for RM7 IIRC. i even use it as my shaving foam.

Hahaha looks like we are in the same shoes. I started with Shiseido as well and went to Biotherm (tried the green, red and now green series). Both are good but i kinda missed Shiseido's Toner.

Then i came across SKII but i need to know the price. If it's about the same as the two brand above, i want to give it a try  biggrin.gif

My skin is really dull and i'm exposed to the sun a lot on weekends (golf then swimming). I think the sunscreen i use is another issue (Sunplay)
*
SKII is on a higher price range than Biotherm n Shiseido. I wanted to try but the high price put me off. they do have trial kits so u can give that a try.

I'm currently using facial cleansers that can be bought from pharmacies like Guardian. I only use just a tube of cleanser to wash my face, twice a day. I don't have moisturizers/toners/oil blotters stuff like that.  So far my face looks quite good. Quite fair, almost no big pimples, and oil only comes out after a few hours. Although there are a few problems like after washing with the cleanser I'm using now, my skin looks quite dry(can see like red patches here and there and got those white stuff sticking to the skin), and there are blackheads on my nose. What would be a suitable product to use for my face then or should I try to care more for my skin by using more type of prodcuts? By the way I'm only 19 this year so maybe I should just keep things simple?
*
just maintain your routine.

prob can add a moisturizer for night time use. for white heads n pimples use Oxy.

dun try to many things bcoz it will increase d chances of ur skin breaking out.

guys..i am a newbie here...

just curious..if i use a cetaphil cleanser, do i still need a face wash?

I am confused between the usage of a cleanser and a facewash...
*
both same function. diff is some r stronger n some more gentle.

others foam up more n some like Cetaphil dun foam up.

so u dun have to use a face wash after cetaphil.

i dun like Cetaphil...doesn't foam up n after washing my face dun feel clean.

What do I do with acne that wont breakout and just stays under the skin? I can feel them

just let it be. dont touch dont squeeze. it will prob come out eventually. u could apply some acne med like benzoyl peroxide but it wont do much good for pimples under d surface.

So for you, never any sissy commercial washes or creams on your face, no shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, designer brand cologne (a form of French parfum), lol?

A real cowboy just splashes river water on his face in the morning.

I am slightly less macho, using really natural not commercial so-called "natural" products. I mask and wash with raw honey and moisturize with coconut oil. BB is used to even out some bad skin discoloration patches. Several brands of BB have not caused any problems. The shops do sell MEN'S BB. If you can believe what anybody's labels say, the BBs are better skincare than many other common products.

Update on Bodyshop BB. In another shop with harsher light, I could see that it left a shiny oily look although yes, it did  hide my problem areas very well. The salesgirl said women could lessen the shine with powder, so that left me not buying. The men's BB I prefer is more matte, so doesn't show so easily. Best at Body Shop is still their corrector sticks.
*
u shud check out Kanebo Freshel Mineral BB cream. im using it n its pretty matte for me. comes in natural beige n medium beige. available at watsons n sasa i think for RM60 (50ml)

the worst i have tried is the Skin79 bb cream for men.

Biore UV Aqua series.

Open store or brand counter are both welcome, so long is good.
*
a number of reviews mention that the Hada Labo sunscreen is good but not so great for oily skin.. i haven't tried it personally. its around RM50 i think.

cant think of anything else as i usually buy sunscreen fr Shiseido.

whatever sunscreen she uses most important is making sure she uses a cleansing oil to remove it at night.

If we use a sunscreen, MUST use a cleansing OIL to wash our face? How about normal facial foams/gels?
*
its advisable to use cleansing oil to remove. especially if the sunscreen is water and/or sebum resistant. use cleansing oil first den regular cleanser.

i been using water resistant type sunscreens for year n normal cleansers only able to remove some of the sunscreen. there will still be a significant amount left on skin.

Hi guys wta anyone using sk 2 men facial wash? The black tube one? How long can it last ar, I use for about a month now I see not much left gonna finish soon?
*
i no use b4.

but if the tube is soft plastic type try cutting it open. u'll be surprised as inside there will still be quite a lot sticking to the sides of the tube. dun cut d tube fully, leave a bit so both halves r still attached. den use cling wrap to sea backl after every usage.

i do this to my Shiseido Men Cleansing Foam. 125ml tube can last me 4 months. usually after its gets very hard to squeeze anymore out i will cut. can get 3-4 weeks worth of face cleansing.

In dpt stores? You mean at shopping mall such as parkson? or jusco also avalaible? I wanna try that shiseido cleansing. You've try it right? How's it so far? Is it good?
*
yup those kind of places.

i been using the cleansing foam for 3-4 yrs edi. n its still my fav even after trying many other brands.

but TBH been a few months since i used it coz of the price. RM95 for 125ml kinda steep. so i went n try those pharmacy brands like Biore, Vaseline n etc but none can compare to Shsieido Men Cleansing Foam. im prob gonna get a tube soon.

If u do get the Cleansing Foam remember to ask for a few samples. the Hydrating Lotion is pretty good.

so do you think the price is worth for the cleanser or not? and yeah i wanna try since i've been using neutrogena. it's been a while and i wanna try new product. this neutrogena seems not cleanse my face well. steep? you mean least or what? howl long can it last since its 125ml?
*
RM95 for a cleanser is def expensive but to me it's worth it coz its my fav cleanser. it might be diff 4 u.

125ml can last me around 2-3 months when used 2 times a day. just a lil bit foams up well...better than those brands like Biore or Gatsby.

might be diff for me? means what? btw i've already bought the cleanser  nod.gif  can't wait to try and see the results. so i might just use the it a bit as it comes with a foam.
*
means u might find RM95 for a 125ml cleanser to be expensive n not worth the price.

make sure ur hands r cleans b4 lathering up the cleanser. this will give maximum foam.

i don't think so. i've read all the feedbacks of people which using this products. so far so good and you too right? hands are cleans? means that i don't have to use the water before lathering the cleanser? just lather the cleanser without using water? and i have the sample too. the hydrating lotion and moisturizing emulsion.
*
its my fav cleanser this one. u talking bout it made me wanna buy a tube soon LOL.

wat i usually do is i wash my hands with soap, rinse off b4 squeezing out bit of cleanser add bit water n lather up. just follow the directions of use on the tube.

moisturizing emulsion is a bit too heavy for daytime if u got normal to oily skin. shud be alright for night time. i'll normally just use the hydrating lotion as a toner/moisturizer in the daytime.
