Hi fireball,

Usually for RX sunlenses, which brand will be your choice. I got mine from Hoya (eyeveil suntint series), its good but i dont like the AR coatings reflection color on those lenses (green residue). Which brand offered mirror coatings? (like those on oakley). Do u have Transitions Lenses offered by Carl Zeiss? Preferebly polycarbonate type (similar to airwear offered by Essilor). I heard Zeiss lenses are very good and the coatings are better than those offered by Essilor and Hoya (easy to clean, hydrophobics.....etc). If u have can u PM me the price for my prescription (R=-3.50, L=-3.25, Astig. R=-1.00, L=-1.25) TQ.

Hey Locozz, wow, so many questions to answer here. Maybe we could discuss all of them in detail through PM! tongue.gif

Anyway, HOYA suntint series is great, and they have a great choice of colours as well! The darker tinted ones would actually give you less reflection colour, but I understand what you mean by that greenish hue to it tends to give. It's actually part of the multi-coat which is beneficial!

Mirror coating / iridium coating/ mercury coating. These are extra coatings together with polarize coat is actually available.. but because of their prices, people are not bothered to even consider them. The problem with using cheap coatings is they peel of easily and hence become really ugly. Anyway, if any of you is really interested in mirror/iridium coating, you can always look for me.

In regards to your question, for sure Carl Zeiss has transition among their range. To be honest, you'll pay more for a carl zeiss when Hoya or Essilor is good enough. These brands have smudge resistance, scratch, blablabla resistance among their options. Lets face it, in Malaysia, these are the 2 most reliable and top brands and I only recommend them to all my customers. If you want Carl Zeiss, it wont be a problem looking for them.. but that's just if you have spare change to offer in my humble opinion! smile.gif

Depending on how high your power is, you can easily make the power shades anywhere. I can help you make them as well. But if your power is too high, the lenses will be too thick and it wont look good/fit. So try searching for shades which are not so curved! smile.gif

I started using sunglasses when I started cycling in 1991. Back then Oakley Blades were pretty much the standard, but I could never afford an Oakley then. So I settled for pirated sunglasses, until 1996 when I finally was able to buy a brand name sunglasses just before the Kuantan Sukma. My brand of choice was Briko. I had Briko Zen, & Stinger. I still have the Stinger but no longer wearable becoz of a damaged nosepiece. I also owned a leisure Briko, dunno what model, but I lost it at 1 Utama when I left it on top of a public phone booth.

Just last month, I finally got myself an Oakley. The M-Frame Hybrid S Livestrong. I use it for pretty much everything, driving, running, etc. I'm a happy man... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Pirated glasses back then weren't of that high quality like nowadays. I mean, in terms of the likeness to the ori ones la.

Mine is the M-Frame Hybrid S, the model 24-024. Got it from my_oaks.
