Dangers of fake sunglasses:
Most people look at the counterfeiting industry as a dishonest business, but they don't recognize the dangers that many fakes pose. But counterfeits are dangerous. The lenses may not be shatterproof, which could endanger your eyesight in an accident. The lenses on counterfeit may be distorted, which can cause headaches and visual disturbances. Fakes may not have the level of UV protection that they claim to have - or they may have no protection at all.

Counterfeit sunglasses cost a fraction of the price of genuine ones, but may not have been made or tested to the same standards, which is why they may not provide any protection at all against ultra-violet rays. That leaves the wearer at risk of eye damage. It doesn’t matter how dark the lenses are. In fact, darker glasses cause your pupils to widen to let in more light. If your sunglasses offer no protection, this will allow more UVA and UVB light to enter your eyes compared to if you were not wearing sunglasses at all.

anybody has anything to recommend between RM100-200 bugdet?

esprit brand in range 100 - 200. what is you preference? sporty look?

No specific preference.depends on the design whether i like it anot.tat's all.i shall take a look at esprit brand.thx!

if u really dont care about quality then u can go for like esprit/topman/zara.. if u really want to invest in a good pair of sunglasses which is not too expensive, i highly recommend rayban.. u can get them around the 300+ range..

Oakley all the way for me

well oakley is also a good sunglasses brand, depends on your cup of tea.. its a more sporty brand.. however oakley's wld cost about RM500 and up.. which is far more than his budget..

yeah the rayban aviator is nice...

might be getting a polarized1 for driving

sad thing for me is, if i wana get sunglasses i gotta add power to the lens, because i hate wearing contact lens and im not the kind who really takes care of contact lens.. =\

Me too.. if looking for sporty. try for sport brand like nike /adidas/puma. this is start Rm200

not really Rm500.. start from Rm400.. you can find it cheap at pertama complex. the shop is next to watches shop at the first floor. front of escalator.. i think the watches shop and the optical shop from the same owner.

below rm200 susah la hensem.. maybe year end sales got... last year i got my Esprit for rm160 after 40% discount...

i personally wouldnt get brands like esprit/topman/zara sunglasses.. they may make good shirts, but they are not serious sunglasses producers.. most of their designs are copied from proper sunglasses brands and they do not feel solid.. im actually not sure about esprit but i checked out some topman and zara sunglesses bfore and you can tell their construction of the sunglasses are poor and it feels cheap..

ziggy, i'd rather save up abit more and get something like rayban or oakleys which i can tell u now is gona last u for a long time.. the rayban aviator in the 1st post is about 40 years old.. i curi from my dad kekeke..

i would suggest brands like zero-x , safari.
last time i owned a zero-x but lost already
tried looking for same model but its not manufactured anymore and somehow thier current model is really lightweight

hmm i heard pasar malam 1 (or ciplak 1) although got shade and will dim the lights, but it doesnt block UVA/UVB rays which is main cause for cataract.. it actually enhance ur chance of getting them.. reason being = ur iris will open wider thinking that it's in a dim environment, to allow more light to go in, at the same time, allowing more UVA/UVB ray in as well...

correct me if i'm wrong?
